      Most Alfas have been somewhat distinct and remembered, mostly styling though.
      Problem with aging Alfas are the electrical and rust problems, which are always expensive to repair.
      People who owned Aflas, miss their character, not their bills 😅

    I drive a 2018 Giulia 2.0. Everything Thomas says is true. The lack of infotainmaint features, the small trunk, the rear camera. But at the end of the day, the steering, the acceleration, the fun! After driving my Giulia for 4 years now, I always look back when I parked it. I still love it's beauty. Alfa really gets in your heart and I really grant everyone this same experience. Sad you don't see alot of these Alfa on the road.

Mine only has RWD, but the way it grabs onto corners at very high speeds just never gets boring. This car looks very classy but is a wild one at heart. I just love it. Recently bought our first Alfa, a 22 Giulia Veloce. I have had several sports cars in the past 5 years: RT Charger, Mustang GT, LT1 Camaro, and a C7 Corvette and I can say this is the most "fun" car to drive besides the C7 vette which just edges it out. It might not be as fast, though a QV would be, but I was shocked at how much I have fallen in love with this car. I agree with some others that they are way underrated and wish more car reviewers would add them to their comparison testing. I'm ok with the infotainment and how it works, much better than everyone that has the stuck on ipad look.

  • @marcelhandsome6042
    @marcelhandsome6042 Год назад +30

    In my opinion, it is still, the best-looking best design in the segment, especially with the revamp would be interesting to see the eventual comeback of Lancia in this sector I think if I'm not mistaken the last model was the Lybra production from 1998-2005. Kudos gratitude to the German trio for setting the bar so high but I sense buyers like myself are looking for an Italian alternative and we haven't had that from Lancia in a long long time. The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the first sign that Alfa Romeo is going mainstream. Lancia has huge potential with it's pedigree, heritage, rally wins, innovations, badge status etc..

  • @nikolaninkov
    @nikolaninkov Год назад +21

    Just what I was waiting for. Thank you for the thorough review. From my POV, most of the negative points in the Giulia are non-issues.
    The reversing camera looks bad but it's good enough. The great camera in my F20 1er and the 12 parking sensors only do so much - I usually just get out of the car and look when it's really sketchy to park.
    The "only wired" CarPlay is easily solved with a wireless CP adapter or you can make a faux-dock for your phone inside the console and just socket the phone right into the connector. Wireless CarPlay has a myriad of issues on its own anyway and not a single factory-wireless CP is faultless. Also, car infotainment is something you don't really care about if you have CarPlay.
    As for having less space, I am the king of all manlets (5'10/178) so all the cars in this class are big enough.
    You missed the most important detail though - the price of equally-specced competitors compared to the car you tested. In Serbia, all of the German competitors are 10k+ euros more expensive, at least.

    I bought an 16 month old 2.0 Veloce a year ago. I love the car as I am interested in driving rather than sitting in it pressing buttons and turning knobs.
    It steers, rides, handles and goes very well. The engine is good and very willing but not one of Alfas greatest.
    If I was buying new, I'd have got the smaller, 18 "wheels and adaptive suspension as I'm told it drives even better, thus equipped.
    Occasionally, it runs a bit rough after a cold start if I've not been using it for a while, but it clears after a few seconds.
    It was the only car I wanted to buy and did not consider any of its rivals.

    I really love the design of this car, both exterior and interior. I love how they kept physical buttons for the climate control and I do prefer a build in infotainment screen like in this car, if only the quality of said infotainment system (and also the rear view camera) were of a bit better quality (in terms of responsiveness and sharpness), then this would definitely be my go to pick! Considering these 2 rather important points do lack, it makes it come to personal preference. Like said in the video, does one prefer the driving or... Dommage aussi qu'AR n'ait pas plus étendu la gamme Giulia, un break 4x4 motorisé par un 6 cylindres diesel m'aurait plu comme voiture de tous les jours.
