Very professional presentation, thank you. Nice to see Leah too. My current car is a BMW 8 series V8 grand coupe. I did test drive the Panamera and yes, it’s high quality but more expensive unless you spend £,0000’s more. Best regards
Awesome review as always, really great point made about fabric seats, the fact that probably no one else in this price range offers this option with this level of comfort along with heating+cooling(even for rear seats) so thanks a lot for pointing that out, this alone makes me put this car at the top of my wishlist. Cheers Thomas!
I now wish that I had gone ahead and ordered an ST when I got an allocation in 2022. The only reason I didn't was that the power/memory steering wheel column had become unavailable. I instead bought a Cayenne just to get the power steering wheel column but the Panamera would have been much more enjoyable to drive and much easier to enter for my short wife. I doubt that I would buy a non-ST Panamera due to the high lift-over into the cargo area and I vastly preferred the look of the ST.
Front end on that Panamera looks good. The hybrid option is awesome and should sell well. Love the layout of instrumentation and screens that fit the contour of the dash. I love how Porsche is keeping the cockpit of these cars personal and bustling with flavor. Too many manufacturers have produced minimalistic interiors where everything is done through a touch screen and thus creates an impersonal connection to the driver. Driving a vehicle and trying to touch the touch screen while in motion is difficult and dangerous. I’m sure those manufacturers did not have people driving and touching the touch screen during the research, otherwise they would have realized that this is a bad idea to implement everything through a touchscreen. Porsche has done a nice job of blending basic functionality with latest tech.
Just for fun I built a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid for a grand total of $286,565. Has almost every option you could think of, $58,070 in options. That's just crazy!
Nice. Leah is lovely. With her lavender, another flower for her 🥀 Would be nice to see your review on base Macan electric announced a couple of days ago. When are you getting your hands on that?
Can you share your thoughts on the topic of ride comfort provided by the Active Ride option? My understanding is that it should handle bumps/broken tarmac very well (the wheels would follow the bump/hole, while the cabin stays flat - they call it sky hook). Also the system should reduce head-toss significantly. So maybe this option would be good for our not so perfect riads (as they are in Germany)?
7:15 so in this car your leg stiff just after about an hour drive like in the mercedes? or how far down can you put the front if the seat? will it be parallel to the floor?
There a lot to like about PHEV, I think. The downside is that you still need a plug, and more often, than with a BEV, if you want to get as much all-electric driving as possible around the city of B roads.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 I get that - but if I'm paying around $110,000 for the standard Panamera, it's not asking too much for the baseline interior to feel a little more expensive.
Thomas you have driven the base RWD, the 4, the e-4, and the e-4S. Is the feel of the base just fine or if personally affordable is it worth the extra cost to consider a lease or purchase of the e-hybrid 6 cylinder models? The 8 cylinder models are too expensive. What is your recommendation of the best and wisest of the V6 models?
Update: My Autogefuehl t-shirt is here. It's wonderful. ❤ The one with the "4k full screen, full length" Size M. The sizing chart had me a little worried that it might be too baggy for me. (I'm small 5'4"), but it fits well with room to breathe.
Curious about ride quality on an uneven surfaces, like within the city. Does it feel superbly comfortable or only slightly better than a car without that system?
The previous Panamera looked better and more elegant. The oversized headlights in particular. I know they say it's an all new model but it seems like a face lift that cut the previous model harmony.
I also purely despise the silly gear lever position. It's dumb. Keep you silly EV antics to your EVs. Mercedes for example didn't just randomly move their start button to the centre console because they do that on their EVs. I don't even understand the logic behind moving it there. It's stupid. In avoiding to go the Mercedes gear stalk route out of pettiness, they're only now 2nd to the Cybertruck position wise. Appalling.
Yes I agree the piano kind for the lower part does provide more pain than pleasure. Plus you need to clean it regularly. Wonder why not having it as the canopy or the seat material which would maintain some continuity in the inside design. Aside this basic comment, what a car. Thank you again for your video.
The plastic switches? Plastic switches are fine at this price now? Any decent car with a 2 step window switch sounds just like that....th does that have to do with "Porsche quality" ?? You can tell it's also pretty thin as well, cuz the thicc and thinner switches have unique sounds to them. Ridiculous glazing.
Thomas your disappointment the panamera acceleration didn’t make Leah squeal like the new 911 did was hilarious. New acceleration benchmark is required regarding this!
Thomas what is your opinion about lack of automatic driving features in Panamera? BMW 5 and Mercedes E ( maybe this is not a direct competition) does have something like automatic line change and furthermore - BMW is testing fully auto driving features in Germany. Does the Porshe looses the competition with other brands or they just want to stick with driver's oriented car ?
Hello Thomas, I've always followed your reviews, but I would like to ask when the new BMW M440 (now without the i?) grand coupé, the one to 2025. Thank you.
I like seeing the night view of the cockpit (8:50); please show this on all car reviews! Regarding the passenger screen, I wish they'd let the driver see the passenger screen; it's rather absurd that they think the driver is fine looking at the center infotainment screen but not at the passenger screen. The driver, after all, looks frequently at his/her right-side exterior mirror, sometimes for several seconds if there's something that needs attention on the car's rear side.
Good review, thanks. But what is going on with these crazy prices… it wasn’t that long ago things were a bit more sensible.. I wish car companies wouldn’t just take their customers for granted… I’ll wait until it drops by 50% in a year… :)
I thought we were going to get a Leah presenting special edittion at the start Is it cheaper for car companies to offer standard leather interiors. The Pepita interior option is £1242!!!
Cheers! Ya indeed it is weird, to me it seems that in Northern America, the Macan is always with animal skin, in Germany and UK for example you can get leatherette seats as base and then have to opt for Racetex steering wheel. Why do they make it that complicated and not even an offer for NA market... Panamera even offers next to the shown fabric seats to go base leatherette seats and get the Racetex steering wheel as single option. Then the leatherette seats on the Panamera are not available in UK and Germany - great logic =)
Front looks really good. Is this sport design package? Great front lights. However it’s way way too expensive. For 911 it’s acceptable but not panamera. Especially the options. ACC costs like 100% more compared to Mercedes AMG GT 4door. Please show us next time how the assistance systems works in newer Porsches
one of my favourite porshe from ever since but with there was a grandturismo update of it as well. Anyone who knows why Porshe cancelled updating the Porshe Grand Turismo?
Fake electic shifting is dumb. But companies are doing whatever they can just to make the convertion from combustion to elelctric/hybrid more appealing to the masses. But it doesn't really make sense. Beautiful car, though. I love the Panamera. I have an A7, which is a direct competitor (a bit cheaoer for sure), so I like bigger sporty luxury cars.
As I explained, it is no fake electric shifting here. The electric motor is behind the gearbox, so the vehicle has to shift in no matter mode it is in.
I remember how I used to say the Panamera was ugly all those years ago when the 1st generation launched. I wonder if those that thought it was good looking back then have changed their minds as I have.
I saw it yesterday..i didnt like it at all..i didnt see any difference from previous generation..its small..overpriced..i prefer mercedes amg gt 4 door..it looks more aggressive and great car..but this porsche...its like from 2018..by the way great video❤
so base 911 Carrera starting price is higher than base Panamera, and base Panamera is higher than base Cayenne. It gets less expensive as the car gets bigger and vice versa.
buy 1 pay 3 . Why doesn't the engine lift up when you open the hood for that price? Then at least some music plays when you lock the car or something so important for driving characteristics
Agree with you 100%. Faux leather and textiles have no place in a real luxury car. Car enthusiasts from outside of the EU can still get genuine leather seats and interior finishing when buying their brand new Porsche and other luxury brands; such as, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi., Bentley, Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls-Royce, etc. The only downside is that there’s always a speed limit unlike in Germany where there’s no speed in certain areas of the Autobahn.
This is the new Porsche. This what they give as "base" in their newer SUVs too and the Panamera it seems. Literal soft touch plastic. They call it a "partial leather" interior. Absolutely mind blowing. It's not even high quality leatherette as base. What? This is easily the worst attempt at "synthetic leather" in this vehicle class in Germany on a dashboard. Without selecting the leather interior package....on close to 90 grand SUVs, and worse even on a base to almost full spec Panamera, you can still have this silly cheap dashboard. What a company. What a disgrace to German Luxury.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at ruclips.net/video/S1aNZeoatmE/видео.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: ruclips.net/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/видео.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: ruclips.net/video/6vXePQi_MAk/видео.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: ruclips.net/video/u94YXJ72UTA/видео.html More and more natural materials are rising: ruclips.net/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/видео.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: ruclips.net/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/видео.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ruclips.net/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/видео.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest: www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars. We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future. There a lot to like about PHEV, I think. The downside is that you still need a plug, and more often, than with a BEV, if you want to get as much all-electric driving as possible around the city of B roads.
Real deal.. cool Video 🤙⭐️
Thanks for the in-depth review!
Love Porsche but not a fan of their newer interiors. For their recent price increases, they should look more premium.
Highly appreciated! Please recommend our channel 😎
You can spec a more premium interior if you want.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 I get that - but if I'm paying around $110,000 for the standard Panamera, it's not asking too much for the baseline interior to feel a little more expensive.
I wish the design looked like the Taycan more. Or if they put a normal engine inside the Taycan I would buy it.
Base fine. Go pure
@@autogefuehl Thanks Thomas! I have a 2021 base 4 cylinder Cayman that is plenty of fun and fuel efficient. Base rules!
The racetex pattern is a little grandpa-esque but I'd still pick them over every other material... if there are no other colour options.
Update: My Autogefuehl t-shirt is here. It's wonderful. ❤
The one with the "4k full screen, full length"
Size M. The sizing chart had me a little worried that it might be too baggy for me. (I'm small 5'4"), but it fits well with room to breathe.
Awesome 😎 enjoy my friend! 🙌🙌
Appalling.
😂😂😂 I was waiting for the Lea-meter as well ❤
Nice video Thomas and Lea! Yes this is technological overkill imo.
cheers m8 !
Yes I agree the piano kind for the lower part does provide more pain than pleasure. Plus you need to clean it regularly. Wonder why not having it as the canopy or the seat material which would maintain some continuity in the inside design. Aside this basic comment, what a car. Thank you again for your video.
Highly appreciated! Please recommend our channel 😎
The colour is great
Thomas can you tell us exactly how much the power drops when batery discharges as a range?
trying to find out...
😅 i love it when u go to small details like how the window switch feels, makes me appreciate porsche quality more
way to go !
New acceleration benchmark is required regarding this!
hehe =)
How much for maintenance if i do it for myself. Because i dont have any authorized seller in my country. I am planning to buy 4 e hybrid.
Thomas what is your opinion about lack of automatic driving features in Panamera? BMW 5 and Mercedes E ( maybe this is not a direct competition) does have something like automatic line change and furthermore - BMW is testing fully auto driving features in Germany. Does the Porshe looses the competition with other brands or they just want to stick with driver's oriented car ?
yeah indeed they rather have the self-driving focus
wow I was not expecting that sunroof to actually open...ie actually be a sunroof. good job Porsche.
Excellent video! Vielen Dank
🙌🙌
Will the Turbo S model have an option for carbon fiber instead of the piano black ?
You can have brushed aluminium or carbon fibre. You could have just gone on the Porsche website like I just did.
New subscriber from india Nagaland ❤👍
Welcome 🙏
Looks more like vented seats... and not actual cooling. Is the venting function actually enough on a really hot summer day?
Hello Thomas, I've always followed your reviews, but I would like to ask when the new BMW M440 (now without the i?) grand coupé, the one to 2025. Thank you.
thanks! The updates are there, yes. I ll try to get them at some point, 4 Series Coupe facelift here: ruclips.net/video/J-fv-bjCqNc/видео.html
@@autogefuehl Thank you.
Stunning car...Stunning presenters 💥💥💥👌

#love it ❤ #best #reviewer
Thank you, Thomas!
I thought it was a Renault Fluence from the thumbnail.
No ISO fix in the rear seats?
the price list says it does, I dont see the symbols either though in the car. I gotta re-check
The new suspension system will definitely eat up tires quicker. I’m sure it will improve the comfort of bumpy rides also. No free lunch…
I like seeing the night view of the cockpit (8:50); please show this on all car reviews! Regarding the passenger screen, I wish they'd let the driver see the passenger screen; it's rather absurd that they think the driver is fine looking at the center infotainment screen but not at the passenger screen. The driver, after all, looks frequently at his/her right-side exterior mirror, sometimes for several seconds if there's something that needs attention on the car's rear side.
hm but for what reason does the driver need to check the passenger display?
Lia meter was an option that had not been selected when configuring this Panamera
"Lea meter" didn't waste her energy because of the weight of this tank 😅. BTW @autogefuehl you forgot to mention the total weight of this tank?
Good review, thanks. But what is going on with these crazy prices… it wasn’t that long ago things were a bit more sensible.. I wish car companies wouldn’t just take their customers for granted… I’ll wait until it drops by 50% in a year… :)
thanks! ya indeed
I thought we were going to get a Leah presenting special edittion at the start Is it cheaper for car companies to offer standard leather interiors. The Pepita interior option is £1242!!!
@17:38 Best sentiments ever!
=)
Fun review!
enjoy :)
Panamera is the most underatted Porsche model.
I think I'm going to order one. You should call Porsche and ask for a commission.
enjoy :)
Great video 👍👍👍
Cheers 🙏
Great review and it's a lovely car but why doesn't Porsche also offer a 100% animal free electric Macan ? ... it's really annoying they don't !!.
Please show us the sound system like before Mr Thomas 🎉
Good color choice. The quick rise is probably for the old folks.
Love those seats
I am a simple man, I see a beautiful... car, I click
Chill bro, it's his daughter and she's like 17
@nomansland120 what if he's 17 lol
@nomansland120 not sure from which source you took that info, but I guess we take that as a compliment for her beauty
@nomansland120
Looks like someone is jealous of Leah's innocent charm!
one of my favourite porshe from ever since but with there was a grandturismo update of it as well.
Is this the same chassis and running gear as a Flying Spur?
this: ruclips.net/video/-4LW1j4CftI/видео.html
I remember how I used to say the Panamera was ugly all those years ago when the 1st generation launched. I wonder if those that thought it was good looking back then have changed their minds as I have.
Agree, first Panamera I didnt like, this one looks cool
Leah did a very good job. 👌👏😄
Oh my god! What a beautiful thing. ❤❤
I love sedans!
Wow! My new dream, perfect!👏🙏🇸🇪👍
I saw it yesterday..i didnt like it at all..i didnt see any difference from previous generation..its small..overpriced..i prefer mercedes amg gt 4 door..it looks more aggressive and great car..but this porsche...its like from 2018..by the way great video❤
thanks !
25:55 "That would have very expensive if the police saw that". That's a common way to merge in some US cities, it's terrible.
Lea's getting jaded from all the fast cars you test.
Beautiful ❤
so base 911 Carrera starting price is higher than base Panamera, and base Panamera is higher than base Cayenne. It gets less expensive as the car gets bigger and vice versa.
buy 1 pay 3 . Why doesn't the engine lift up when you open the hood for that price? Then at least some music plays when you lock the car or something so important for driving characteristics
Dash with this fake leather looks plain bad, you can tell its plastic. And no leather on airbag cover in the steering wheel? Its like Kia
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: ruclips.net/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/видео.html
And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: ruclips.net/video/6vXePQi_MAk/видео.html

More and more natural materials are rising: ruclips.net/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/видео.html

For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ruclips.net/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/видео.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest:
www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html
In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter.

Agree. Other manufacturers do better leatherette
That's a very impressive vehicle
Thomas, too long since I watched one of your reviews!
welcome back !
