    How scary would it be to have a young daughter claiming to be trans, when you know it's actually 99% likely she isn't, but every institution is applauding her decision and encouraging her along.

      @Scott Purcell Literally this. Talking to my son and his friends, and remembering from my youth, you spend all your time trying to fit in - with ANY group that will make you feel welcome and special. Then you make life-changing decisions and get locked in.
      With gender and sex it's even harder to change your mind later for fear of judgment from peers "Oh, they can't make their mind up". So you end up stressed and angry and trapped. Trying harder and harder to convince yourself and others around you.
      Having said all this, most people definitely know what they want gender/sex wise, and it's only a good thing that society is growing more excepting each day.

    Speaking from experience. I grew up as a Tom Boy. I wore boys pants because they were comfortable and easy for me to run around and be the wild child that I was. (Also, to those who watched WWF back in the day, always like the Hardy Boyz pants, thought they were cool at the time.) I prefer to get down and dirty and do a hard days worth of work. There were even days I would dress like a tom boy with heels just because I wanted to. Yet today I consider myself a Girly Girl who is not afraid to do a man's work. Personally I do not believe my behavior had anything to do with my gender identity. More had to do with "This is what I like at the time"

      Me too Amber, although I'd describe myself as very feminine now. Had a short period at about age 11 when I wished very hard that I were a boy...reflecting now, how with overzealous adult influence that could have led to a transition were I currently 11. That thought also brings up an enormous disparity between the rigidity and traditional nature of my parents, who almost pathologically resisted change. This new generation of parents is apparently, quite pathologically, pro-change. Let them become adults first.

    ...not to be prudish...but the over sexualization of society is leading people to ask kids to decide their “sex” before their primary sex hormones have even really kicked in.

    • @BartvG88
      @BartvG88 4 года назад +12

      Jessica well, maybe there’s some confusion because in english, it’s called sex, but whether you feel like a boy or feel like a girl is a different question than whether you want to have sex with men, women, or both. Sexual feelings typically don’t start until puberty. You’re right that it’s too early to ask kids about that. But sexual identity is something else. “Feeling like a boy” or “feeling like a girl” are questions you can ask children and it has nothing to do with where they want to stick their pp and vajayjay. That being said, if a doctor diagnoses gender dysphoria, It might be a good idea to wait with serious transition until they’re adults.

      @jeremythompson5151 4 года назад +29

      @@BartvG88 Its not an open advocating for the removal of the child category. Its the idea that kids can choose to take hormones before 18. The implication is that if you can choose your sexual identity at 4, what other things can you now consent to and choose?

      @Sienna Waters I was severely ill for 6 months and had multiple potentially life threatening surgeries a few years ago because 5 different doctors all told me that my pain was due to a minor UTI and/or psychological. Meanwhile, I had two softball sized cysts wrapped around each ovary and my colon was wrapped around one of them.
      You deserve to live a life that is free of pain. Don't be afraid to tell multiple doctors where to shove it until you find a doctor who actually listens and treats you with respect. Also, you don't need to be cured of questioning any aspect of yourself... it's okay to be who you really are regardless of whether that person fits into other people's black and white categories. Best of luck to you.

    Frankly, if I could change gender when I was 12, I would have done it. I was genuinely uncomfortable with my gender when I was young. I started getting weird looks from men and boys. Thank goodness I grew up before "transitioning" was a thing. I survived by wearing shapeless clothes, boyish hair and being awkward and miserable for years. It was not until I was 21, when I started to get comfortable with my gender and could handle sexual attention. It was a gradual process . If I look at pictures from the last 8 years, I can see that I dress more and more feminine. I see that I have more and more female friends. This would be unthinkable for my 15 year old self.

    Today I'm glad I'm a woman and would not exchange the experience I had when I was pregnant for anything. It's scary to think that teenagers today, who share my past discomfort, have the opportunity to change gender. Is just robbing them from growing up.

    • @DarkRahl69
      @DarkRahl69 4 года назад +20

      Yeap and that story is not unique, if anything that is the way of it. I mean myself and all my guy friends were literally afraid to talk to girls, I was even on the wrestling team and during season we got to go in front of the whole school during preps rallies and there were cheerleaders just for wrestlers called Wrestlerettes, plenty of reason for confidence is the moral of the story but still when you have it on a pedestal you are going to be nervous, was a weird time. Even though I never had any transitional thoughts or preference switch ideas, having an option available to potentially fit in easily would likely have been alluring for the wrong reasons and damage could have been done just to make a rough time in my life easier in the short term. Honestly that not feeling comfortable in your own skin that is all to common around the high school years is an opportunity for growth and that is what you described.

      Thank you Layla for sharing your perspective. I was similar to you, spent my teens feeling boyish and out of place with my female peers. I shopped in the male section of clothes, and dreamed of attending an all boys school. My high school was an all-girls Catholic school with an emphasis on social communication and conformity. Complicating the situation was bullying I received, and all the conflict I got stuck in. Also a trouble-maker.
      In my twenties, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Although not everyone in my shoes has it, there is an interesting correlation between autism and 'transitioning.' But what if, when I was younger, people assumed that I was secretly trans? What if, in a foolish idea to gain my peers acceptance, then I'll pretend that I'm trans? Another problematic issue is that teenage girls go through puberty, and may struggle to handle it. You experience new sensations, hormones, emotions, and attractions. The 'trans' concept may offer comfort to teenagers who hate puberty.
      My understanding of gender and sexuality was shallow as a teenager. Now as an adult, I love being female. I want kids someday, and I'm comfortable with my gender. I can't imagine having a different body, if anything, I'm really protective over what I do with it.

      Thank you for sharing, I never had a feeling or thought about being in the "wrong" sex when I was a teenager, but I was a bit more feminine than and there were teased about it and who knows if the options were available to transition what I would have done. From being a hyper kid that had a lot of friends when I became a teenager I became depressed and turned inwards a lot and just stayed away from social situations, I still had great friends from my childhood however, then all of a sudden I went the opposite way around 16 and started partying drinking and going crazy, lost my feminine side of me. Turned out I got diagnosed Bipolar at the age of 30 :) who the hell knows what the underlying issues is, especially when you are kid or a teenager. I did not figure it out until I was 30!
      I live in Sweden just for context.

He's not actually a woke SJW but can't help but abstractly take that side and when I try to get a real concrete reason why I get an obnoxious history lesson going back hundreds of years and even into this pretentious academic semantics that are suppose to show me how everything "anti-woke" personalities say are actually negatively affecting real genuine social change, like because we point out the lunacy in what's called the far far Left we are really hurting and misrepresenting these people and issues. Like WTF! NO! That's exactly what the nonsense lunatics are creating, that is why they're counterproductive and the transparent virtue signals are making these issues into a mockery especially for those uninterested in looking at the full context or bigger picture! Idk how it could be any more clear. The individuals who can admit "I Don't Know" & show honest humility, "Idk but I'm looking at it genuinely and authentically," and have not lost their sense of humor and aren't blindly loyal towards rhetoric and agenda are most likely on the correct side and hold sanity, because myself at least, despise even having to pick any side or use vague and tainted labels like right or left or red or blue, etc. If anything I'd say Honest as possible & Authentic towards my point of view -against- The Disingenuous & Despicable!!!
      I almost think this friend of mine is playing a long con on me just to drive me insane!

Also, the trans recedivism rate is less that a percentage point and quite rare to within the trans community that they change their minds later in life. however, a vast majority of trans people do express positive attitudes toward puberty blockers that have taken them or claimed they would have (but didn't have access/knowledge/etc) liked to have them.

    I'm neither a girly girl nor a super masculine girl, but I am one. A woman, born female. I used to say I want to be a boy when I was little all the time. I used to play with all the so-called male toys, didn't like my dolls and protested any effort my mother made to get me to wear dresses. I wanted to be a boy. I wore boy's clothes. I remember stuffing toilet paper in my pants because I thought that I was just born wrong and would have been better if I had been born differently. It was an exciting thought - it would explain everything, if I was just the wrong kind of girl. All my interests (soccer, gaming, cars, trains) aligned and I think nowadays, you'd definitely call that trans. My parents didn't know anything about that, though, so they thought I was just trying to imitate my brother. They let me do my thing, let me wear my brother's old clothes, let me play with guys. Nowadays, I think that that was my saving grace. By the time I hit puberty, I was seriously despising my body, I rejected wearing bras until my breast growth was too hard to ignore. Even then, I hated them and wished them gone. I cried bitterly when I got my first period, and I tried to hide that from everyone for the first year. I did not want to accept the reality - that my female body was doing its thing. At school, there were no gay or trans people, so I never said anything. It was only when I started falling in love with other girls in my class that I began to realize in what way I was different from my peers. When I was younger I dreamed of myself as a guy so I could someday marry a woman. I hid it for a long time, but by the time I was 18, I finally admitted to myself that I am a homosexual female. I'm a lesbian. It took some more years until I got really comfortable with the idea of being attracted to women in this way, mind you. The more I accepted myself as a lesbian woman, the easier I found it to re-align my feelings with myself, so to speak. I do not feel "gender". I don't know what I am supposed to feel like as a woman! I like different things, but that doesn't make it a gender, in my eyes. I like soccer - but that's not a gender, it's a hobby. I was also diagnosed with autism, which is, I have read, remarkably common in the trans population. I am what you'd call a desister, I think. I grew into myself and am now a happy homosexual woman in my mid-twenties.

      @hasanl234 Exceedingly rarely are kids forced to transition. There's the Reimer case where a young boy had a botched circumcision and the parents raised him a girl with the supervision and encouragement of some deranged doctor who believed gender is 100% influenced by one's environment. Reimer, unsurprisingly, did not grow up to feel like a girl. He detransitioned back to male when he found out his parents had lied to him and fell into a deep depression, subsequently killing himself. Very tragic case, but to my knowledge the only case of its kind. The other guy who told you to "do your research" and, rather fittingly, linked you a Blaire White video, is a deranged conspiracy theorist. Luna (born James) Younger has NOT been forced to transition. Her father is a deeply conservative Christian and has touted that Luna's mother has allegedly "forced their son to be trans". Blaire White routinely ridicules and lies about other transgender people and is in no way a reliable source of information. Everything she says should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

I'm an atheist, but I have no doubt that some conservative Christians are better parents than some atheists. In the cases where a parent, sometimes with the support of gender ideologues, manipulates a child into adopting opposite-sex social traits and the transitioning path, the line between manipulation and force is meaningless because of the psychological power of parents and the inability of a child to give meaningful consent on such a profound life decision. That inability to give meaningful consent is the reason why sex with children is a crime, even if the child "wants" it. Genuinely gender-dysphoric kids are in a horrendously difficult situation and parents who manipulate their normal kids into entering that situation are engaged in child abuse.

      @@gcrav I fail to see where you even attempted to rebut anything I said. 1) Pointing out that the father is religiously motivated consistutes an adhom now? Yeah, okay. 2) Conservative Christians can definitely make better parents than some atheists. It's all a matter of whether they feel entitled to indoctrinate their young. 3) My contention is with the right's failure to provide evidence that the child in this situation has indeed fallen prey to manipulation. They are, of course, very eager to side with the man who touts explicitly anti-LGBT sentiment. Have you considered the possibility that the mother is not the one trying to enforce her personal biases? This is the issue I have: Whenever a young boy, trans or no, expresses desires that are stereotypically girly and the boy's parents are anything but staunchly opposed to the very notion of trying to accommodate him in some way, a certain side of the political aisle like to jump immediately to the most deranged of conclusions and claim that the boy in question is being tricked by gender ideologues. I truly do wonder whether you have even once considered the possibility that we are delving into the deluded, obtuse and conspiratorial by maintaining that gender ideologues grooming young boys is some kind of common practice. Why does the right believe a boy in a dress is inherently sexual? We don't seem to treat little girls the same way (at least not here in the EU, Americans are truly strange creatures). It's either a case of grown men fetishising little boys and projecting their revolting desires onto those of us who see nothing innately sexual in gender nonconformity; or it's a case of fetishising femininity, *or* it's a case of rampant homophobia or transphobia.

      We are all just people, but we are not equal and never will be. The problem today with the whole "woke" movement is they are confusing the phrase "treat everyone equally", with trying to treat every single social instance with equal representation. Treat everyone equally means that we SHOULD treat everyone with equal RESPECT. I should respect your beliefs, I should respect your boundaries. You should have the same equal opportunities as everyone else. However, that does not mean that we ARE equal.
      Men and women are biologically not equal. Men are stronger, overall men are more aggressive, tend to engage in riskier behavior. People in general arent equal. Some men are taller, stronger, smarter than each other. Should they hire weaker men for more physical jobs, just to be more diverse? The problem is, you cant represent every single group in a work place. People will always have to be grouped. Should we force more women into STEM fields when they are naturally more drawn to social work? No. Because that would be changing their nature for some forced diversity.
      Trying to get rid of labels means making things harder to diagnose. It means holding each other back instead of moving forward with efficiency. Men and women are naturally better and more interested in different things, with no regard to social influence. If 80% of men naturally leans towards STEM fields should a workplace look to hire 50% of women in those fields so that the population is equally represented? Think about it.

      @@SNNY-SKTR It's not about the parties or the leaders. You misunderstood what I meant. I'm saying it's the people. That the Cultural Post Modern neo Marxism that has grown out of college campuses like Evergreen that has infected the masses like a plague in the name of the left is anti traditional left. The woke radical left isn't Liberal. Political correctness isn't Liberal. It's not about caring about racial or gender inequality, it's about the Marxist critical theory nonsense that has infected the BLM movement of Identify politics and neo feminism and all the stuff that Bret Weinstein and Jordan Peterson and Christina Hoff Sommers is referring to that they have personally dealt with, before it spread out into the real world. The left is no longer Liberal. The PEOPLE on the left are no longer Liberal. An entire generation of kids who were helicopter parented and told they were great without having achieved anything and placed on drugs to avoid having to feel bad feelings only to wake up as adults and realize that life and reality doesn't treat them that way. Huddled in their safe spaces with their trigger warnings and microaggressions. Fed the ideology that they are oppressed and that's the reason they aren't winners. Believing that every little social inequity and marginalization is to blame for their failure when really they are the weak. When really marginalization and identity is divided into Infinity, when really the only thing you should base things on is on the individual and not collectivist group identity. They're angry because they were told they were special. The one thing I'll agree with the radical progressives on is the blame on the DNC itself for trading Populism for being a plutocracy-kleptocracy ever since the Clinton's took power in the mid 90's. That's when the DNC stopped being the party of labor and stepped away from what the left party should be. But like I said, my point wasn't about parties, I'm talking about the people. Liberalism is dead. And radical woke progressivism killed it. And now that social marginalization has become social popularity currency, the front line victims are all the young girls who are transitioning only to later regret it. And it's the fault of the institutions and all the doctors who are allowing it. Whom are too afraid of the mob to take a stand. Mark the words of Abigail Shrier and Debra Soh and Jordan Peterson. There's gonna be an avalanche of lawsuits coming in the next few years by devastated people who were ruined by transitioning as kids and later wanting to detransition and having their lives ruined.

Trump's populism is a lie. But if you're referring to simply conservative people and not the leaders in power, I agree that the people on the right are more willing to engage in debate and discourse, because they aren't shackled by political correctness or infected by wokeness. But just in the way that progressivism has usurped liberalism, I'm afraid that the same polarization is taking place on the right and extreme authoritarian nationalism is also usurping moderate conservatism. Both left-of-center and right-of-center moderates are the victims of the extreme polarization taking place.

    I am a transgender woman who thinks that the mainstream "gender ideology" is bullshit and that gender is innate and immutable. That's why I wasn't able to "cure" myself out of being transgender and suffered so much in my life from refraining from transition, until 4 years ago when I finally did. I think that the current ideology is actually pushed by a group of people with ulterior motives who hijacked the trans "movement" to gain virtue-signalling points in order to further their hidden agenda despite all the backlash they will create for us, because they do not care about us, we are just tools to them.
    What ironic is that their entire ideology is actually completely contradictory to what it means to be trans. If gender (or sex, or whatever you want to call it) were just a social construct, then why transition at all? Why not just "change your construct"? Believe me I tried, for 30 years, and here I am now, Chad turned into Stacy.
    The sad part is that I know from first-hand experience that trans youth are lost, feel isolated and need a sense of belonging and purpose, and the "trans groups" in universities and elsewhere give them an opportunity to feel they are surrounded and part of something bigger than themselves, and sadly their minds become infected with this very damaging ideology without them even realizing it, as they are not taught to think anymore, but rather to denounce and go on ideological witch hunts.

Many of those who transition from m to f have a tremendous advantage. They've swept titles and set new world records (also keeping the female athletes from their rightful wins) in a whole range of different sports, yet not a single transmale has done either in any sport! Ask yourself why that is. I dont see how there is anything meaningful anyone else could possibly say on the subject. The performances dont lie. It past time we right this wrong before we continue down this grossly unfair path. Athletes only get that one shot and they absolutely bust their ass to win. This amounts to the end of women's sports/ How long until someone fields an all transfemale team?

      Mookayla I was pretty against trans women in sport for a while but it was only a personal opinion until I saw Noel Plum actually look into the studies and data shown on Transwomen in sport and I think his stance is the most reasonable by far.
      Sports should regulated in accordance to fairness and it’s unfair to have a person who is naturally producing high levels of testosterone to compete against a group of people who naturally produce little to no testosterone, akin to doping.
      His studies are in reference to track but I think some obvious parallels can be drawn. For one thing, he says that a competitor should not be compared to others of the group but instead what the competitor would be like if they didn’t have the contentious condition in question. IE, in your example of Fallon Fox, we shouldn’t compare Fallons muscle mass and testosterone levels to her competition, but instead compare those things to what Fallon Fox would have been like had she been born a normal female.
      That I think really seals it as without a male puberty, Fallon would not have the levels of testosterone and muscle mass she has now. They would be significantly less if she was a female.
      Hence Fallon had an unfair advantage and should have been disqualified until she met the requirements to fight. That being a reduction in the relevant elements for the sport.
      But like Noel I think regulations like this can only stretch so far and it’s not the best solution we can come up with. I like his suggestion of having the female category being protected for biological females and an open category for all genders and sexual capacities, but I can also see where it might also not be the best solution, particularly for transmen or those with intersex conditions who would be put at a disadvantage going against biological males...
      But we live in a very imperfect world so a perfect solution that makes everyone satisfied is not likely to come. It’s just managing what we can at this point.

    Thank you for this important program. My best friend has a daughter who came home from school one day saying she wanted to transition to be a boy. She is from broken family and is 11 years old. My advice to my friend was to tell her daughter that she did not need to make this decision NOW. That she could wait until she was older and that it was no problem. Her daughter had NEVER BEEN TOLD that she did not need to make this huge decision in her life now. I am happy to say that the daughter was relieved and much more relaxed now that this pressure has been taken away from her.

      I'm glad she's ok. Tbh MOST girls would be a boy if given the option. Can we blame them for not wanting to be "the weaker sex," get periods & give birth? But after puberty, most of us (>96% historically) lead heteronormative lives. What we're seeing now, at least in NY where I work, is 25% of girls self-identifying as LGBTQIA+. Whether that's bc "diversity is celebrated" in modern culture or there's another reason, idk

    • @eshootziscrs2868
      @eshootziscrs2868 4 года назад +4

      Hmm, arbitrary numbers chosen for political reason based upon emotional propaganda creating a popular opinion.
      Why would you suggest adding a bright line to an individual choice issue that will never have a realistic answer?
      You just want to create new laws to control people based upon some arbitrary set of conditions created by other individuals?
      The reason people start early is because it is much easier to get far better results, especially prepubescent.
      Think of it as creating a law to prevent sexual intercourse until a person reaches an age where sex drive has declined.
      People would make much better choices given their maturity and experience and absent the desire to feed their sexual drive.
      The end results might be better for your intentions but does that warrant the delay, the infringements, the control given to others?
      On the other hand, we do require parents to assume legal responsibility and liability for children until age 18. So saying making tobacco less available to children under 18 is a parents duty or choice. Clearly the majority of parents agree that a law preventing the sales of tobacco to children is what they want. I'm not in agreement with the idea of dictating to a shop owner what they can or can't do in order to achieve what parents fail to do is an unjust law.
      You are suggesting replacing parenting with government regulation. Limiting individual choice not to prevent harm to others but based upon ????? Some conclusion or result that you haven't stated or reasons not given.
      One of my best friends was totally screwed up by his parents, does that mean his parents broke some law or some combination of laws would have protected him from harm?
      The law that might help far more people... Keep your opinions to yourself, live your life and accept that others have the same right to make their own choices good or bad.
      If people want to transgender then let it become normal until it's a it is a decision like what music you listen to.
      It is an unfortunate reality that time passes and once a decision is made you can't change that point in time.
      You can't undo in your 40s what you did in your teens. Laws should be very specific and proven to be greatly necessary before we even consider going that route.

    • @crystallycke2666
      @crystallycke2666 4 года назад +11

      Children do not know who they are! You can support them all you like but to change their sex on a medical level is child endangerment. A child dose not truley know and UNDERSTAND the consequences to their choices, on how life altering it truly is. If children cannot be held responsible for their choses why would you give them the biggest choice of their life? And if so then on a case to case basis to protect the child he or she should be given all the facts and then have a specialist board determine if its in the best interest for that child. If there is a court to rule if adults are competent why not one for something that decides the childs whole life. I just know when I was that age I still didnt have a clue.

      @omnivore gains I agree, but we let 18 year olds make all sorts of other life altering decisions, I see no reason to hold another back. Im not for transitioning children, but late teens is something different. Especially, if you know your kid. My son is the most self aware teenager I've ever met, if he told me he wanted to transition and he held on to that for a few years I would allow him to transition at 16 or 17 (not that I get much choice). My daughter however, who is a wonderful child and probably the sweetest individual in my life, pretty much changes with the wind and doesn't do much self exploration. If it were her wanting to transition, it would be a different conversation. Either can dress and act how they'd like and use whatever pronoun but actual changing hormones needs to be on a case by case basis.
