I'm so impressed on how you became so knowledgeable without that much information on youtube on these specific wheels. Good job! Love u and you content! God bless
THANK YOU!!!! I have impale skates and have had the same issues. I’m not about to spend $300-500 on skates no matter how long I’ve been skating. This video is very appreciated!
Thank you sooo much for this video! I watched so many videos on how to clean my bearings and when the time came for me to clean my own I realized my bearings don’t look like the ones in the videos I watched 😆 so thank you for explaining for non removable shields
I had this same issue and ended up doing something similar except I used my sewing machine oil which also said it worked for home appliances and sporting equipment and I let it sit for a bit before cleaning of the excess like I do with my sewing machine!
Old skater, old yogi, new subscriber. You put me in mind of myself (20 years ago) when I was a Chitown Urban Outdoor Roller Skater! And my boyfriend at that time gave me a roller derby name: Juicy. I got my skates at Underground Wheels in Ford City Malls. They put four wheels on each of a pair of leather Chuck Taylors. I rolled out of there and all over southside Chi! Maybe I'll go skating, today. I still have my four wheeled chucks. I've enjoyed and shared your yoga videos, too. (Since yesterday, since I found you yesterday.) Keep rolling, Channing.
Lorraine Gary that’s dope af! I’d love to see those 4 wheeled chuck Taylors. Admittedly I haven’t skated much since the heat of summer has been a killer and adulting priorities have taken over but you’ve inspired me to get back out there too soon. Thanks!!! Also thanks for subscribing. Sorry my channel has been a little ghost lately
THANK YOU for doing a video with Impala skates. i have the exact same pair and I love them. I am also having serious issues with the bearings and have been down a rabbit hole trying to figure out to clean them lol. I watched a video earlier from another RUclips that said the bearings that are aluminum (without the plastic covering) cannot be cleaned just because of the construction of them and that the water and cleaning liquids can get stuck inside the bearing and eventually corrode. If this does happen to you, could you update us? :) Has there been a noted improvement in your skating since cleaning the bearings?
Worse honestly... My wheels haven't been rolling right. So what you found out is probably what happened to mine. I really wish the brand itself had proper cleaning care somewhere to share but they don't for some odd reason.
@@YogawithCookie so you're saying after doing this your skates are worse? You should warn others that these videos instructions can't garuntee your bearings won't corrode...
Have you happened to find out why they only have 2 separators? I have these same exact skates and am soooo livid that there’s nothing online about the maintenance & mechanics of these skates!!!
Channing Hixon your wheels spin sooo much better after cleaning them. I just got my first pair and even though they’re new they don’t spin as well as yours do. I loosened them and everything but they still stop pretty fast. I was thinking of adding wd40 to help.
Channing! How do you clean the boot itself? A friend just bought a pair of these holographic skates and I want toprepare a care package for her. I want to include some Rain&Stain Guard spray, which is what I use on my own leather skates, but I have not seen that holographic material in person yet. Do you think a spray like this would stain or affect the material in any way?
Hmm, I feel like it might. I used good ole soap and water to clean it but I rather than it getting dirty, the material started to peel off at the toe from regular use and braking.
Go ahead and know you're going to get wear and tear out of those things. I mainly used them outside because they are outdoor skates. Get in them and just have fun. Don't worry about messing them up. Even if you do that just gives them more character.
I'm sorry, I don't know if I missed it. But from part 1, what did you do with the loose part that was in the wheel? I'm having that trouble and my Bones bearing tool is not letting me remove it.
There’s a quick tutorial on this when you search in RUclips. Take the nut off, then use the actual axle to slightly angle it until it pops off. Hard to describe without seeing. Good luck!
Hey! Thanks for this video, I wish I had watched it earlier. So I have the Black Impala's and I have 8 spacers. I don't know if the spacers affect the skating but I wanted to let you know.
I'm still figuring it out if they do... but I have realized my wheels don't roll as fast so I've been tinkering with them. I'm also probably am going to invest in some different wheels. I'm hoping if I buy moxi wheels they still work with the Impalas.
@@rlopez3127 did you use the impala bearings in the energy wheels? I just put energy wheels on my impalas with the stock bearings and was hesitant about the spacer. Just did my first skate with them and I don't feel Like they spin as well.
I think the bearing's shields can come off. Ive seen another guy here on youtube do it with these bearings. These bearing have an outer ring that you have to pop off first with a thumbtack and then you pop off the shields in order to reveal the little balls in the bearing. Also its weird that your impalas only came with 4 spacers (seperators) bc there is supposed to be eight so that each wheel has one. I dont know but maybe reach out to impala with pictures or your part 1 video so that you can get a free pair of replacement plates bc thats a big deal. Every skate should come with all its parts otherwise you could get hurt when skating. Hope this helps!
This is really helpful and I should reach out to them about it (even though they aren’t the best with responding) but imma still try! Thanks for the good info!
Girllllllaa why no one else mentioned this !!! And the bearing tool is freaking clutch Bc I just found my stuck like how tf am I getting this out. But we’ll be saving this vitty for later when I get that tool smh
Michelle MyBelle I actually recommend the tools more than I recommend impala right now per some information regarding the company I just learned but I’m happy you’re on your skate journey
Why not just buy new bearings, rollerbones bearings aren’t too expensive ,to replace these factory models.🤷🏻♂️They come with removable shields for easier cleaning.30$ for 16
Do NOT use WD 40 on bearings, WD is for cleaning, WD (stands for Water Displacement) NOT for lubricating, you can use Lithium Grease (you can get it in HomeDepot, Lowes or AutoZone) or Any Oil Lub will work - if its special like Speed Cream, Sonic, Pro Shot, Liberty Oil perfect! (Also if the bearings are sealed, you can dip them on really Low Density (10-15 Viscosity max) motor oil
Do you have IG so I can follow you on there. And how do we really know that you are a skater and not an imposter. But congratulations on another great video, still loving you.
RawDeal 7414 Did you watch the video(s) at all? lol I clearly state how I’m a beginner and am still learning. But check the description for my IG. Thanks!

Same reason I got the Impalas and I have loved them since day 1. This has been helpful and comical.
Do they still hold up?

Thank you so much! I almost cried when I popped off my wheels and there was no rubber shield like every video said there would be 😅 Thank you!!
Thank you 🙏 a million times over for this video, cleaning some impalas for the home girl and this is major help!
An in depth impala cleaning and maintenance video would be clutch
Omg...I once was lost but now I’m found!!! Thank you!!!
So helpful thanks! I've read wd40 isn't great for bearings in the long run (just FYI for other newbies out there)
new skater and new subscriber 🥰 I love your personality!!!
Thanks for subbing!

No I haven’t! It was recommended I reach out to them to find out and I’m going to but they have a slow response time.
And the fact that the mechanics of these skates isn’t anywhere is frustrating
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Those 4 cylinder pieces go on the inner wheels looking back at your first video.
Yeah getting them back in was a struggle for some odd reason.

Channing Hixon Thank you! Lol and I meant to type replacement skates not “plates”. Sorry about that!
You should include the name impala in your video description
That's a smart idea lol. Duh. Thanks!
I’ve heard multiple people say not to put WD40 on your bearings
I’ve heard mixed things about it 🤷🏽♀️
WD 40 is a degreaser so you’d need to put some sort of lubricant in...
Girllllllaa why no one else mentioned this !!! And the bearing tool is freaking clutch Bc I just found my stuck like how tf am I getting this out. But we’ll be saving this vitty for later when I get that tool smh
How old are you skates? And are these the original bearings that came with them? Thanks, great video!!
Those skates are almost a year old so yes everything is what came with it.
Awesome video.
Daniel Curtiss thank you!
This is great got impalas! Do you recommend those tools?
Michelle MyBelle I actually recommend the tools more than I recommend impala right now per some information regarding the company I just learned but I’m happy you’re on your skate journey
Impalas are expensive in Canada 😭
Wait how much are they there?
What😱😱😱never W40, you want killing your bearings abec 7. I don't use this bad oil for my rollerblades but quality oil
yeah I learned that the hard way.
Why not just buy new bearings, rollerbones bearings aren’t too expensive ,to replace these factory models.🤷🏻♂️They come with removable shields for easier cleaning.30$ for 16
I paid $230 for those same shoes
$230? Really? Was it the shipping or something?
Channing Hixon no they were just trying to get some extra money
It was super late but they came in!
Nooooo you got ripped off big time wtf

Okay thanks for this information. Because I can say after attempting to clean them in this manner they did roll differently. Trial and error for ya.
