omg this video made me feel so comforted. I normally don't see many people starting off where I am. Roller Skating is super hard and I barely know how to move forward. Sometimes I feel really discouraged because it seems like even beginners can at least move forward but seeing this made me really happy. Don't get discouraged! We can do this :)
Omg! Same, I see some beginners doing tricks at the first day like!??? That made me feel so bad, but seeing this and watching some comments saying the same made me feel a whole lot better about my skating journey
i didn’t even start like this, it took me a month to be able to stand up without any support. i gave up about a year ago and picked it up again just yesterday. i’m doing much better and practiced balancing on each foot and picking up each foot and putting it down so i can learn turns. all courage to you :)
I love how you're showing what it's like to start off, because that's how I am right now! I look like a newborn deer with wobbly legs trying to learn how to walk, so I feel you lol! But yes, consider getting gummy wheels for outdoor practice, and also loosen your trucks to help you maneuver from left to right. Otherwise, you'll just end up going straight lol xD
To be honest I am in this boat ..... same rocky start off. .... #realbeginners I see other just pop their skates on and off they go....they are not true beginners
Love to see that I am not the only one struggling learning to skate. This is a great beginning, you found your balance and got some moving around going on. Try to shift your weight more to the left and to the right instead of leaning forward 💜
I started skating in January and I’m late to this so I don’t know how you’ve progressed, but I felt like I was walking in the beginning and all I have to say is your more likely to fall like that. You’ve gotta believe yourself and try to roll further with each step
Omg you're so right! You really need to be brave and just go for it. I've been making some progress since this video, and that was one of the biggest lessons I've learned so far! Thanks for sharing :)
I agree with the comments :) just work on lesson 1 and lesson 2 of dirty Deborah. For like months!! I'm on month 1 and this is all I'm focusing on Listen to it always!! What helped me was when she said you need to commit, the weight side to side, you'll know what I'm talking about when you get to those parts!! I was just like this my first day!! I absolutely love your pretty get up!! What are your pads? So pretty 😍😍. Enjoy skating yipeee!! Xxx
Oh my god, this is so relatable!! I got skates in March and I could barely stand 😂😂. I watch these 30 day challenge videos and I am SHOCKED at their progress. I'm like, "did you know how to skate before day 1?!?" I'm glad you're starting out as a total beginner too!
My first attempt at rollerskating was me clinging to the wall lol. Me and the wall were together for a long time. So getting up is the hard part in the beginning. Don,t be to hard on yourself. Also keep those knees bent.
A tip that helped me alot when trying to stride is pushing with my inside edge out to the side and shifting my weight! I'll see if I can find a link to the video and reply to this comment :)
I think it was this video around 2:30 where she talks about "stroking" i call it striding but it's the same thing! She talks about it briefly but it was a huge help for me! ruclips.net/video/UaPrn7w8SF0/видео.html
I loved this video!!!! Thanks for sharing this honest beginner video! I was getting really worried to see only people who could skate like pros the very 1st day while I can't do shit^^ You were much better and braver than me, well done! And shout out to your sis for the support, this helps a lot, mainly to "dedramatize" the whole experience !
yoooo we have the same rollers!! i love the struggles in this video. I also needed my sister to hold me just so i don't fall on my first hour ahahah great content
I’m re-learning roller skating at age 69. Last skated when I was 45. This video is so refreshing and realistic!! It’s just how I was my first time going outside - having just practiced inside my house. ❤️🛼
Have you loosened your wheels? You need to push off the ground :) you probably already got this now though! The impala wheels aren't really meant for outdoors either. You need outdoor wheels to move smoother!
probably late to the party, but check out dirty school of skate, she has heaps of tutorials about loosening wheels, trucks, and how to skate in general- both indoor and outdoor. she was super helpful for me when i started, especially as i had no idea how to stop either! i have impalas too and thankfully the wheels that come with them are combo indoor/outdoor wheels, so not as cushy as just outdoor, but since wheels are still sold out everywhere for me, i can get away with keeping them on. love the honest skate progress video!
You don't have them tight enough they shouldn't be that lose for your first time! Like ice skates if you know how they are supposed to be fitted. Not too tight at the middle but snug tight in the middle then kinda loose it up as you get closer to the top but should be snug around the whole ankle! Happy skating girl 💁🏽♀️
idk if this seems like a dumb question but i'm hopefully getting my skates soon so what tools do i need to buy to loosen them? does one work for all types of wheels? :)
Ordered my first quads, waiting for it!! Meanwhile I am trying to skate on inline skates, they are not mine, so the size is wrong & it doesn't fit my leg, lol :) Still love it, have no idea why I didn't try this before, I am 37!!! Skaing is extremely unpopular in my city :(((
Tighten your wheels a little bit and kick off. Also, invest in outdoor wheels for bumpy concrete. It allows you to grip and push off on the concrete with minimal bumps. Good Job 💕

You need to search up indy jamma jones and you will be a master sorry this is late

Yes! I need to practice balance and turns too! Glad we're in the same boat! :)
Oh my finally a video of someone just like me 😭😭😭 thank you.
The "beginners" in some videos don't seem like beginners at all! This is so validating. 🥺
Haha glad you liked it!
Exactly
This was so cute. "I need a grocery cart" 😅😅. Beginner skater here. I can so relate.
LOL we're in this together!

Just got my skates today and I fell so hard backwards! But we all got to start somewhere ! Let’s keep skating 🤞🏽🕺
I know the pain of falling backwards lol but you're exactly right! We've got to keep skating! :)
I rewatch dirty debs lesson 1 every time I go out! I hear something new each time!!
I'm so happy for you!!! :)))
Thank u! :)
0:55 this part of the vid is SOOOO SATISFYING ❤❤❤❤
Having supporting friend is really important in the first time. I'm still learning how to move without scare to fall but its fun anyway 😆
so true! and falling is what i was most scared of. i just try to fall forward, so it doesn't hurt at all 😅 falling backwards is a bit more painful...
This is what a first time roller skating looks like, a lot of other videos aren’t realistic and true. ❤️
You two are adorable and it was so nice to watch a video where the person was realistic about their first time skating

LOL I felt the same way! I had ZERO experience before filming this... well, unless u count the roller skating bday parties i went to as a kid haha :)

I was laughing so much but not at you but because this is probably what I looked like on my skates 😂😂😂😂 love this
Hahaha we've all gotta start somewhere! I'm glad u enjoyed :)

@@Cristal_Lugo Thank you for this!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to check out the video!
Hopefully y'all find it helpful! 💕🌟
Wow,you are doing great! Maybe try to loosen your wheels so it'll be more fluid!
I loved your turquoise setup!
Thank you! Turquoise makes me happy! :)
Bruh Mary's laugh is literally everything 😭❤️
It really is! She's my own personal laugh track 😂❤️

Great job! I love your turquoise set up. Welcome to the skate community!!! 💜
Thank you!! 😊
I can tell you watched dirty deb with your little posture but at the start! Keep at it! I'm also a newbie skater!
Omg yes i did haha!
yoooo we have the same rollers!! i love the struggles in this video. I also needed my sister to hold me just so i don't fall on my first hour ahahah great content
Yay! Holographic skate twins!! And sisters are great for support (literally) lol
“A gang of middle school boys” I’d die honestly.
Great job and so stinkin’ cute you two 🤣🤩 I hope you still skating!
It’s fun roller skating 😊
I put my 1st skates on today, I stood up, and fell right away, knocked over the coffee table. Did not even get out of the living room.
you two are so funny, loved it!!
aw thank u! we're happy u enjoyed :)
I love your roller skates! ❤️‼️
Thank u! They make me so happy :)
Omg this is so me! Thanks for the vid, I needed this x
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :)

I just started too! And this is so me! And when I think I’m doing something I look at a video and I’m like that’s all I’m doing? 😅🤣
I feel ya! We're in this together!
Did you feel like the size was accurate? Or should I size up?
We both ordered half a size up. I'm an 8.5 and bought 9's. They fit great!
I couldn't find a next video showing how you are doing...
Stay tuned :) we're hoping to film one this week!

Thanks for the tip! I've only seen one of her vids so far, but I love her personality. I'll def be watching some more soon!
its good :)
I have a roller skate but my mom doesnt let me try it on and i am sad
We literally have the same roller skates and the same protective gear…
well lets not put that energy out into the universe >>
This was basically me last Saturday but I was at a roller rink which is supposed to be easier :P
the struggle is REAL, but we got this! I should try a roller rink too!

The reason why u are probably not rolling because you need to loosen your wheels
I hadn't considered that. Thank you!
And yes losses the wheels a little bit at a time and till you get what you think feels right for you.
idk if this seems like a dumb question but i'm hopefully getting my skates soon so what tools do i need to buy to loosen them? does one work for all types of wheels? :)

Hello what kind of socks are they you have on friend thick socks
Tighten your wheels a little bit and kick off. Also, invest in outdoor wheels for bumpy concrete. It allows you to grip and push off on the concrete with minimal bumps. Good Job 💕
Thank you! I'll look into getting some outdoor wheels! :)
