Decided to pick up my lifelong dream of learning how to skate at the ripe age of 31. Want to use it as a way to help my spirit heal. Thanks for all the tips and advice.
Me, right now at 45. My husband picked it back up and he's an awesome skater. He knows one of my dreams has been to cool couples skate with him at the rink lol So he got me a pair for my bday this month. Very excited for this learning journey to skating greatness and to be able to take myself on skating dates.
Me to im 55 and over the last month i have been skating it was always my number one love i have stopped falling over now but it was hard when I started skating again my left leg is weak so i need to try an strengthening it so i feel more stable when skating loving it
I just want to say thank you for subtitling your videos. I‘m a mom and often only have time to watch something when baby is napping right next to me. - so thank you for making your content more accessible
Took my family skating last night (wife, son 7 daughter 3 and lovely mom) we haven’t done it in years but my mom used to be a skate queen back in her day. I used your top 7 skates under $100 to buy my wife mom and myself skates today. Yes the timeline shows we are obviously obsessed! Anyway just wanted to show some appreciation to you for your information. Thank you. Then in this video I see you’re in Nashville! We are down in Muscle Shoals Alabama so who knows maybe we will make it up to your neck of the woods on a skate trip. Your locations look awesome. Long winded to say thank you sorry but yea thank you!! Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you for your energy! Loving the vibe here. Trying to learn intentionally at 40. Had to take the week off as I had a bad fall on day one. Got the kneepads and elbow pads now 😅
For christmas i got money to buy better skates! So now i'm kissing my dear impalas thank you, and i'm so excited to improve my skating skills on good skates!! Thank you for all your videos Dasia you're amazing
Not the sporty type. Picked up a pair of roller skates (inline) that I found in my house and joined a friend who is skating. First time stood on them it was very scary. The wheels are too high (110 cm!) but the feeling of being able to do simple movements and even attempt at turning around got me hooked. Maybe this is finally the one for me? Sooo: New follower!
I started skating so I could do roller derby but I've come across your videos before as well. Right now my goal is to be strong and athletic, but next year I want to look hot at the rink on jam nights and be able to dance on skates :) I'm just commenting to say that yesterday I was at a park practicing my T-stops and thanks to your videos and "BREW" I finally figured out what I was doing wrong and I am SO happy. So thank you!
Your videos are absolutely amazing!!! You're such a good teacher! Being skilled at sth doesn't mean you can also explain it well, especially to beginners but you do it perfectly, thank you so much, you're so motivating!
BRO this list is an info dump of SUCH good things. i had basically discovered all this myself but through LOTS of research. anyone landing on this early on is really lucky! the wheel durometer thing i had to cobble together through skateboard stuff and nothing was as clear as how you just put it. and the meeting skaters and finding skatespots is HUGE. i only for the first time last night saw a vid where that even got mentioned. sadly it's hard to find open tennis courts and stuff. and i see these vids where people are skating on empty basketball courts and i'm like DAMMMMN here's you even HAVING a bball court ffs. they like... don't exist around ATL!! it's so bizarre! recently found a community center for my area that has indoor courts though, AND i'm going to take your rec and ask about there maybe being a day where it can be used for skating. such a good idea, and i never would have thought that could be a thing. to get enough practice, you could go broke going to a rink, so having decent spots is so important. i'm also thinking in light of your comment on wheels.... that my issues with turning (i just got some moxi panthers and was just using stock wheels but i'm also in my house on wood floors) might be that i need some indoor types. just ordered a cheap pair of skates on amazon (papilions or something? i believe you actually showcased those but reviews were pretty decent) partly because i wanted to test fit/comfort and actually feel the difference of a cheaper skate. or, conversely, feel if the panthers aren't all that. idk if it's the bearings (probably is) but some wheels i can loosen to be hyper fast with no shake or noise, and others get a noise if i get them at the same speed. :( i suppose it could be wheels though if they were.... idk a touch malformed. anyway, having another pair of skates to even LOOK at i think will answer some questions.
Dasia! Im obsessed to say the least. I’m waiting for my skates in the mail atm. I loooove this series and plan to use it throughout my journey. Thanks for all of the tutorials you’re seriously the best!!
Your channel is a godsend! I just started roller skating and you’re the reason why I know what wheels to buy and how to understand my body better, thank you so much, truly! ❤❤❤
I got Chicago skates last week to skate with my son. I knew I’d love it!! I loved it when I was a teenager. I HATED IT SO MYVH!!!! now I’m on the look out for better skates I should’ve done my research
I love this vid! I do have one minor disagreement- you say that wearing outdoor wheels>>> indoors >>can be more slippery- I actually find it to be the opposite. Hard wheels are more slippery because they have less friction with a smooth surface than a gummy wheel. A gummy wheel will stick to the floor - and thus making you skate slower and having a harder time with footwork/ turns/ spins etc. I wore Moxi gummy wheels indoors the first year of skating and it helped me feel more stable because I wasn’t slipping on the smooth floor. But if you want to skate fast in rinks, do dance moves/ foot work/ spins / 1foot turns, gummy wheels inside will make that very hard to do.
❤ thank you for all the informative skate videos that you have made for us that wants to begin skating as a hobby and a form of exercise! I look forward to getting on my skates and getting better as I continue the sport. I have a random question, what Mike are you using to record this video?😊
I've been wanting some for so long it reminds me when I was younger and bought some at a yard sale and we all tried using them I busted my butt multiple times and learned some how so ik I can again
I just went out for my first roller skate outing today and it was awesome! thanks to your tips, i was able to skate in a straight line, stop and turn ! thank you so much
Wait you said you live in Nashville? I would love to meet ya! I just got my pair, used to be in skate racing (rollerblades). I want to learn cool tricks and love to dance and skate so I think I found THE perfect hobby.
Could you recommend some good wheels for roller dancing that can be used inside and out and aren't too hard and small (I'm still pretty much a beginner, just getting slightly more advanced)?

Just got my skates today, I'm stoked!
Been rolling in my kitchen today trying to keep myself up.
My Moxi Beach Bunny's arrived and I'm so excited to learn. Do you find the stock Moxi wheels are better for outdoor? They feel pretty soft and gummy
thank you, you have inspired me to start skating again
Thank you for your videos 🩷 they're so informative. I'm in the learning phase lol but I plan to buy my first skates this month.
got my first pair in the mail today, so excited:]
I can't believe you've been skating only 2 years. I thought you were a professional skater.
Thank you for your amazing videos and beautiful spirit! 🤩
I looove all your tips! Never even knew there were indoor or outdoor skates! I also looooove your purple outdoor wheels! Where did you get them??

Luminous wheels and Moxi Fundaes for sure!
@@DasiaDoesIt thank you so much! 😍 immediately looked and found cool luminous wheels on sale!
Can you put in shoe inserts if you have plantar fasciitis, for example?
I’m crying because I don’t have any of these wheels and my skates look totally different from everyone on the Internet 😢😢
That’s okay. What matters is their hardness! What is the hardness of your wheels?
@@DasiaDoesIt oh ok
I know it's off topic but I really need to know what's up with that white Blue Yeti mic. Why is it pointed that way???? It's just a prop, right?
How does the audio sound?
So it means there are no proper wheels that can be for indoors and the opposite?
in jamaica you gotta pay like $19 to skate in their basket ball court for 2 hours
