- After seeing many many roller skating tiktoks, I bought my first roller skates ever without any experience in roller skating.Yes, I've never ever been roller skating and I spend 80 bucks on them. The website I bought it from (valsurf.com) was having a 20% off deal on all of the products and I was lucky enough to save money from that deal! How many times did my sister and I fall/stumble in total in this video? TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT. If you liked the video please like and comment down what videos you would like me to do! ok, I keep seeing this so here's some advice: you NEED wrist guards and a helmet. your wrists and your head are most prone to getting hurt if you fall! learning to fall properly is important but I keep seeing new skaters without a helmet or wrist guards and it's driving me crazy
I just bought some wrist guards and elbow guards! I just didn't buy them at the same time that my skates arrived. But, yes! Protection is absolutely important, especially during this pandemic. We don't need people hurting themselves and risking their health!
@@taegikookies When you do order a helmet make sure it's a roller skate or skateboard style helmet that covers the base of your skull. Get one that is CPSC and ASTM certified.

@@taegikookies I saw another young lady also using a bike helmet for protection. While it will offer some protection not all bike helmets are designed for rear impacts like skate helmets. 187, S1, Triple 8, Pro-tec and TSG brands have certified helmets. A lot of different colors and styles too, depending on what you like. Some Triple 8 helmets have sweat liners in them too so you don't get blinded by your own sweat. I also recommend The Dirty School of Skate with Dirty Deborah Harry for lots of great video tutorials for roller skaters. I'm impressed you can do Shoot the Duck on your second day! Have fun, be safe and keep practicing. :)

lilybella with impala skate u can roller skate outdoors!! U can it in a little square till your comfortable then go out on the street. If they are to much look for skates with wheel that have 76a to 86a. ☺️

I looked pretty much exactly like this when I started 4 days ago(probably a lot worse tbh) but on day 4 I went on a parking structure rooftop and I finally got the hang of skating!!! I'm still super beginner, but I can *actually* skate now. Keep the good work, you got this!!!

I know I’m late but if you feel like you’re either unstable or you’re gonna fall down drop down to a low squat because it’s better to fall on your butt from a couple inches off the ground then falling from standing all the way up and with your toe stop keep your feet close together so that when you’re trying to stop the toe stop doesn’t drag on the ground

taegikookies I will! I roller skated a little bit at this mini skating rink that was at the park and I just got so into it but once I got the hang of it they closed so I bought some!
Don’t be scared of falling! I’m a beginner too and used to feel the same way when it came to falling. I’ve come to learn that whenever you fall it means you’re getting closer and closer to accomplishing your goal! Not to mention falling isn’t as scary as you think- Good luck on learning how to skate!

Can I just say try to keep your hips low when you skate and your core nice and tight. All skating is is moving weight from one leg to the other but for a first timer you did really well and if you keep consistently practicing you’ll soon become really good at it. And don’t be afraid to fall because you will completely psych yourself out.

I started on those too! Same color way and everything! I’m not a huge fan of impala as a beginner skate, because they rip at the heels when you get into more intense park skating. I recommend any Moxi brand skates, I have the Lollies. Be careful!

I got moxis like a year after I got my impalas, what I did was a put shoe glue on the heels to keep them much more secure. That works pretty well, and beside the heels impalas are very nice skates!
i got some chicago skates for beginner ones (going to replace the wheels!) and then going to save up for some nice moxis 😋

Keep your knees bent always, and straighten out your back. The more your body leans forward the more it wants to go down and then you’ll fall, try looking at something in the distance instead of the floor too. When you feel like you’ll fall bend down even farther so when you do you land on your butt from a short distance, keep practicing!

Main area for improvement in my opiniqoqn start moving without taking the skates of the ground/floor and experiment with the horizontal distance on floor with skates.
I don't like it outside too cuz it's a bit scary but if me I prefer skating in the house haha its less scary and I'm literally watching this while wearing skates I'm like so tired from skating I'm resting rn hehe it's sooo fun to skate⛸️⛸️😂😅😁🙂🙂🙂

Ok if it's your first time learning how to roller skate I have some tips
1.make. v with your rollerskates
2.bend knees
3.left leg then right slowly then when you get the hang of it go faster that's how I learned

Keep at it -- b.t.w. toe stoppers are for stopping ONLY when you are going backwards ;)
I hope you understand about the toe stops - ONLY for stopping when you are going in reverse.
Forward has about 3 good ways to stop depending on how good your balance is.
I have more than 25 years of roller skating experience ;)

edit: You should try doing T-Stops! I heard its a better way to stop so your skate doesn't jump the way it did.
OneWithWolves you can buy a whole pack of knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards from Walmart for just $20! I recommend buying a whole pack rather than individual protection pieces. It’s much cheaper
OneWithWolves I got mine at Walmart and they are really comfy but if you have sensitive skin like me the elbow pads they have might give you a rash

I know I'm really late, but when you get the feeling you are going to lose your balance, try to squat as low as you can. It makes the fall a lot shorter and less painful. It helps a lot
