I'll never get tired of watching bosses bully Gideon. That said, I think the best night here was against Malekith. It was like a dance and could have gone either way. The only thing that really equalizes the lower stats of Gael I think is that he can't be stance broken.
@@LegendaryBrah hes definitely talking about the movesets when i fought gael in ng+7 i noticed he has alot of similiar attacks to maliketh, like the spin attack where gael hits a right, a left then spins and jumps up then attack (maliketh doesnt jump, he lifts his sword up then down)
@@LegendaryBrah He's incapable of seeking out deathroot himself while needing to constantly be reminded to not forget his sin. He's a dementia doggo: a "witless animal."
Honestly, Gael did a lot better than I was expecting. Yes, he's a final DLC boss with the stats to match, but like Soul of Cinder a chunk of his threat comes from his sword attacks flinging you into the air or stumbling you. Not breaking your poise necessarily (although he does that a lot too), but just not letting you complete your attack animations if you try to go toe to toe. Other bosses don't have to worry about that as much, so this chunk of his power is stripped. Although we do see what it would be like with Gideon, who spends part of his fight being air-juggled like it was Tekken. Either way, it's funny to think about if Gael were around, he'd probably have been the first Elden Lord instead of Loux.
I dont think he can stumble a 13ft warrior with his sword, also the grab of loux didn't work either, even in grab gael broke loux poise with his cross bow (again). Totally weird match. If grab worked as expected, I dont think gael defeats hourah loux
@@anmolfrost Don't forget that Gael's AI wasn't working 100% either. Several times he started to do things like his jumping sword swings or his airborne combo and animation cancelled those moves into... walking around. His teleport is also janky here too, almost completely removing his teleport behind surprise attack. These lead Gael to be less aggressive than he otherwise would have been. That's not to say Gael beats Loux 100% of the time all the time, as it was a close match as it is. But to claim that "well this one thing hampered Loux so if it was fixed he'd totally win" without fixing up Gael's hamperings as well isn't going to help anyone. It's been shown in these boss vs boss battles that Loux can struggle to grab someone when they're leaping in the air or teleporting about; which is what Gael likes to do to players. And let's not overlook Gael isn't getting his first phase either, that has a grab (or rather impale and throw, Malenia style) of his own. Honestly, Loux is facing the nerfed version here; Gael with worrying head injury.

Hoarah Loux was done dirty. Half of his moveset is grabs, and they don't seem to carry over to DS3 bosses. Had the grabs worked on Gael, the outcome would have been different, given how low his health was at the end.
Hey Gael, heard you’re fighting Elden Ring bosses. What’s your strategy for Radahn’s meteor attack? Tank it. How about Placidusax’s laser and nuke? Tank it. Godfrey’s slam? Doesn’t work on me. Ok, ok. Malenia’s life steal? …. Excuse me? Her what???
If he had both phases and all his leaping attacks, I think he takes Elden ring with his original stats. Having said that, this is still cool af, next we need to see champion Gundyr!
He is a bit slow and clunky it seems like. Phase 3 in DS3 he is airborne all the time it seems like a faster. Also, when he does his tripple flip attack in phase three he usually shoots his crossbow and he didnt do that here. This was maximum effort and it brought back a lot of my anxiety fighting him across my multiple characters. One of the things I did not notice was that he coughs before he does his soul explosion. Maybe it was just allt he other ambient effects or the adrenaline from having gotten that far, but i never noticed that. I daresay that this Gael moves slower than the two handed ugs ringed knight users in ds3 and i am not sure that should be the case.
his attack speed is exactly the same in ds3. he's very slow in ds3 aswell. what's different here is that his spin and go airborne attack is bugged here sadly :l but his base speed and all that is the same as in ds3. he's one of the slowest swinging bosses in the series. he doesnt' cough in ds3, instead he moans. the cough is taken from morgott, as his own sound isn't in elden ring.

It's just boring and uninteresting, unless, of course, you're the ultimate Malenia boss fanatic, for example.
@@LuM4rexExact. But that does not mean that Malenia is superior per se. That it's more difficult just because it's a longer game seems like a cheap excuse to me, otherwise Gael would not have been able to defeat the other Elden Ring bosses. Plus you say it as if Malenia were a puzzle boss.
20:06 that grab evasion was just epic! And then the sword smash into roaring godfrey like "SHUT it"
Gideon continuing to monologue while getting blasted in the face with the crossbow is comedy gold.
I'll never get tired of watching bosses bully Gideon.
That said, I think the best night here was against Malekith. It was like a dance and could have gone either way.
The only thing that really equalizes the lower stats of Gael I think is that he can't be stance broken.
11:21 I know it doesn’t really do much but this just looks incredible
Glad to see he was able to survive radahn's meteor. a lot of the other ER bosses tend to struggle after that point
Holy hell the fight against Godfrey and Hourah Louk was insane 19:05
Shame the grabs didn't work. Hoarah Loux got done dirty
14:30 These two walking towards each other for one final clash with lightning strike in the BG was tough
that frame of gael in front of the moon at 3:15 go hard
I wonder if when you add Friede will she have her 2nd phase? Probably not but it’d help her a lot.
Friede, Lady Maria and Malenia in one battlefield would be epic

@@venomark7883would be absolutely the most toxic shit to grace anything 😂
it took me this long to realize how similar Gael and Maliketh are, especially if you think about Gael's phase 1 (not shown in video)
I don’t see it?
Gael in phase 1 is basically a witless animal while Maliketh was always sane. They’re pretty much the opposite.
@@LegendaryBrah hes definitely talking about the movesets
when i fought gael in ng+7 i noticed he has alot of similiar attacks to maliketh, like the spin attack where gael hits a right, a left then spins and jumps up then attack (maliketh doesnt jump, he lifts his sword up then down)
@@LegendaryBrahsomebody forgot maliketh is the beast clergyman...
@@-Gravity. yeah? He’s sane there.
@@LegendaryBrah He's incapable of seeking out deathroot himself while needing to constantly be reminded to not forget his sin. He's a dementia doggo: a "witless animal."
15:26 "Stupid FromSoft camera bro! I'm stuck in a corner! I can't see shit!" - Giddy, probably.
Well, his stats are higher than SoC, but unfortunately ER's bosses scale higher.
@@anmolfrost
Don't forget that Gael's AI wasn't working 100% either.
Honestly, Loux is facing the nerfed version here; Gael with worrying head injury.
danggg radhan came in like a wrecking ball and Gael really said hold my flying skulls
Really he said that? I keep playing it over and over trying I find that moment, can you time stamp? My volume is on max

@@23Butanedione he's referring to Gael, eating Radahn's meteor attack and going right into his second phase (with skulls). He's NOT trying to say anyone was actually speaking.
@@Zarocaz isn't "he" a "she"? Are you sure there wasn't dialogue because Gael does have a voice actor?
Gael's moaning and wails sound effects are really needed, seeing that they're not there there's a bit of charm lost compared to his original boss fight (of course omitting his music).
Chad Knight Gael VS Chadfrey, the first Based Lord lets go
Hoarah Loux was done dirty. Half of his moveset is grabs, and they don't seem to carry over to DS3 bosses. Had the grabs worked on Gael, the outcome would have been different, given how low his health was at the end.
to be fair, that's what he gets for being a one trick pony
@@Celatra a one trick pony how?

Gael every start of the boss fight: could this be a pilgrim?
Hey Gael, heard you’re fighting Elden Ring bosses. What’s your strategy for Radahn’s meteor attack?
Tank it.
How about Placidusax’s laser and nuke?
Tank it.
Godfrey’s slam?
Doesn’t work on me.
Ok, ok. Malenia’s life steal?
…. Excuse me? Her what???
3:17 Holy SHIT Gael with the moon backdrop is hard as fuck
If he had both phases and all his leaping attacks, I think he takes Elden ring with his original stats.
Having said that, this is still cool af, next we need to see champion Gundyr!
Gael blasting Gideon with his machine crossbow during his monologue was hilariously disrepectful.
i kinda wanna see how the legion of the abyss watchers would fare with 3 of them at the start and then one of them going into phase 2
Gael just hanging there tanking Radhan’s meteor was epic
Gael busting a cap in the asses with his gatling crossbow makes me wish to see the Glock Saint Isshin fighting Elden Ring bosses. 😂
He's not slower, he's less aggressive, and really handicapped.
he also didn't do the triple jumping combo in his phase 2
Early access for a reason ;)
Each swing of Gael was really powerful. so satisfied to watch.
i swear the absurdity of some of these matchups never fails to crack me up with the music playing dramatically. for us its pure adrenaline for Gael, its just another tuesday.
uncle gael seems to be adjusting to this new land just fine
1:54 It's a good idea to bring fully automatic weapon into school
Gael has a massive edge here because he doesn't have an assigned stagger value, so he can just keep attacking without stopping
He actually staggers, quite a lot, and you can see it against godfrey. It's just that its for a really brief period
My guy, he did stagger quite a lot...
Did you not watch the video?
Gael stagger = 1 sec
ER boss stagger = 5 sec
@@mstirlz yup, but for example, Gael stagger Godfrey about 3 times on their fight, giving him a lot of space to attack in those moments, however, Godfrey staggered Gael with almost every hit, making him get staggered about 30 times in the fight, who was the most staggered one in the fight?
0:41 godrick starts screaming in pain...
Gael: stfu i've had worse things done to me than that....

@@xanderduncan9885 maybe, but because the whole situation takes place so far in the future, maybe even the painting of ariandel itself is gone, so it probably didn’t matter if gael had the dark soul it was all over, gael was probably too insane at this point to realise that

Everyone is mentionning how he could've been stronger if his jump attack worked, but are forgetting that this gael starts directly in phase 2 with a full health bar.
His phase 2 is definitely his weakest phase
And his stagger timing isn't set up for ER

Gael did fine enough, but I would want to see Gael against the ER bosses again, but now, with proper stats more on par for ER and it's bosses (i.e. Buffed HP, Slight Damage Buff, Poise Buff etc.)
Other than that this was a damn job well done him bringing him over to the world of ER, excluding the "little" kinks in his AI especially with the deciding to cancel out of a fair chunk of moves at certain intervals.
