So him vs Yhorm is literally just poise shredder vs poise shredder. Unfortunately for Yhorm, Godfrey has that fissure attack, which absolutely decimates every large boss.

Just to add I’m a weapons enthusiast who makes and trains with them regularly. Being significantly taller than your opponent with also add a lot of force to an attack especially a heavy downward cut to the ground. They are aiming to kill you quick. As for the weapon bit you will keep coming and the bosses know this so care less about their weapon surviving and more discouraging you from coming back. Also well made swords are much more durable than you think. Especially all that thick metal. Swords are made to be beaten senselessly for years if maintained well even with lots of use. The blade will be fine but a quick resharpen and you are back at it. Plus swords can still cut somewhat like an axe when dull. Especially if they are the size of a small house.
@@djcj5640 yeah but like, by actual lore definition the Elden Ring bosses make Dark Souls bosses look weak in comparison. Yhorm would never realistically stand any chance against the Elden Ring Demigods.

@@NetherStray It doesn’t help that Rykard’s AI doesn’t seem to know what to do when an enemy gets too close. He just kinda sits there and takes it for a while until he decides to jump away and hope for the best.
Knowing how he did against the vast majority of the DS3 bosses in older videos across multiple channels, this is likely gonna be a massacre. Gonna enjoy watching this. Edit: I never get tired of seeing his execution slams. Went more or less as expected, with most of his losses being explained by health drain (looking at you Godskin Duo and Maliketh), Malenia's regen, and his player-focused animations (Placidusax in particular). Almost felt sorry for Mogh with Yhorm's fire and bleed immunities, as well as his heavy resistance to physical damage outside of headshots, it's like he was designed to counter him. Would it be difficult? Yhorm: If he got to his second phase then maybe Would he beat you? Yhorm: nah id win Surely fire giant is large, and has his protective shield, but in the end i alone am THE GIANT ONE
Yah, Malenia wasn't having any of his non-stunnable cheazy-ness. Went up to him and cut him a new one. Placi's Lasers, Nihil, and Radahn's meteor attack did nothing to him.
@@thepro3729Just so you know Yhorm was one of the first bosses to have a stagger then ripostable state like in Elden Ring. This is just incorrect. He does however have a metric ton of poise.

Not gonna lie, even if he still didn't stand a chance, it was incredibly cinematic seeing Radahn switch from long range to single combat with Yhorm
32:27 “what a sad state of aff-“ *chop*
I never realized that Radahn is as large, if not larger and taller than Yhorm. Crazy what a boss room does to perspective.
Yeesh, Rykard’s fight was surprisingly close given Yhorm’s fire resistance.
He's completely immune to normal fire damage, stuff like the Blackflame DoT is calculated differently.
@@jacobanderson8219 Makes the fight even closer, then.
It was hilarious to watch honestly because Serpent/Rykard could hardly even hit Yhorm. The spacing on their attacks just wasn't working. He was standing too close and they were trying to hit further away.
@@NetherStray It doesn’t help that Rykard’s AI doesn’t seem to know what to do when an enemy gets too close. He just kinda sits there and takes it for a while until he decides to jump away and hope for the best.
@@jacobanderson8219 How is Blackflame calculated?
Props to Godfrey/Hoarah Loux for getting a well-deserved win, has to keep his giant-slaying skills sharp after all.
Yeah because you need the little special weapon to do actual dmg to him.
@@AliensEatPeople He made for an underwhelming gimmick fight, but one hell of a fun bruiser for boss videos because of said traits. Boss v. boss content doesn't necessarily have to be balanced to be entertaining. Edit: Grammar and sentence structure.
@@jacobanderson8219 Maybe it's just me but I actually find Yhorm quite satisfying without Ruler. I usually bring him down to second phase with it and then finish him off with normal weapons.
@@jacobesterson Sounds like we're in the same boat in regards to the fight itself, main problem is that I like Siegward too much to not end up doing his quest, which usually means I end up with the vanilla experience anyhow.
@@AliensEatPeople you didnt see the godfrey fight lol
Radahns meteor tickled yhorm 💀
The blast hit Yhorm in the legs which is where his highest resistance is.
@@AnotherVexium also, it seems most of the blast was fire damage, so it literally did nothing except for Radhan's body hitting him head on, which was just a measley 870 damage
11:40 He smacked him in the balls. GLORIOUS
Geez, Yhorm is like the size of the player during his DS3 Yhorm bossfight in comparison to him vs the Fire Giant.
35:56 that frustration in Yhorm's hits, he already knew that Godfrey was made differently.
Godfrey vs Yhorm was the coolest fight here, 2 absolute legend throwing hands, axe and cleaver at each other and being so evenly matched until Godfrey did a crit damage 😂😂
You know, it's almost like Yhorm is the sort of opponent Godrey is intended to fight. Kinda like Godfrey's fighting style was designed to take on a larger, slower but very powerful warrior.
@@RelativelyBest Kinda like giants?😂😂 who he killed during the war against the giants😂
@@s8theninjawarrior916 Nah, Elden Ring giants were clearly much larger than Yhorm.
@@RelativelyBest well no shit but he's still called a giant😅
@@s8theninjawarrior916 Yeah, but that's a semantic issue. Yhorm seems like a more fitting opponent for Godfrey than the actual Elden Ring giants would have been, is what I'm saying.
It's at times like this, seeing a giant slam a massive cleaver onto a dragon's head over and over, that you start to wish Elden Ring had limb removal mechanics.
I love how Astel just looked up at him from the ground like "please, mercy!"
32:23 yorm: quit that yappen
13:53
Absolutely epic af!!!
“… and with the last of his strength after a battle that lasted for eons, Yhorm threw his weight and all his strength into one final attack, that could have crushed a mountain, into the fiery giant of legend. The Fire Giant let out a moan that shook the entire range, clearing trees of snow for miles around, and was felled on the magma-covered slope, soon to be washed away in the fire that loosed the creature into existence. Yhorm, dizzy and exhausted from his battle, stood and regained his composure and eventually walked from the scene…”
🤓
Nga shut up ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ bros having fantasies over a video
fire giant put up a hell of a fight against the 50 skeletons in that battle
Would it be difficult?
Yhorm: If he got to his second phase then maybe
Would he beat you?
Yhorm: nah id win
Surely fire giant is large, and has his protective shield, but in the end i alone am THE GIANT ONE
@@Hideyourtoes_miyazakiyes! Keep going! Oh oh oh
Gideon talking all that smack just to get launched by Yhorm is priceless
Gideon Ofnir : "A Tarnished cannot become a Lord, not even you".
Yhorm : "Bitch please. I already am a Lord of Cinder"
I was dying laughing during this whole 'fight" lol. Yhorm got him in a corner and buried his ass XD
😝
now imagine if Yhorm was actually still using his shield
*Mental note for every ER Boss 1v1 video*
“The show doesn’t START until Starscourage Radahn”
50:20
Rykard : any last word yhorm
Yhorm : nah, i'd win
Weebs trynna make an irrelevant quote fit in a random spot 😭😭
Funny because if that hit actually landed Rykard probably would have won
Straight up looks like he parried him
@@tinytitanmc1276 for real
This is the first time a fight against fire giant was interesting and damn was it great
Malenia finished the fight without using Waterfowl Dance once, that's rare. I kinda expect her to win with full health as well.
@@Zanemob almost everything true, but he wasn't "one of the first", because every non-Hunter Boss in Bloodborne works this way.
I didn't really expect anything else from her tbh, she was literally sucking Yhorm's HP 'till getting it to 90% - 95%, if it's a player, then fine, but a boss? Waste of time
@@thepro3729 pretty sure they forgot to give yorm any stats regarding bleed seeing how mohg never procced it once.
Oh shit. I wasn't expecting Horoah Loux to get a grapple off after seeing these boss gauntlet videos.. Astel could've done some damage on some I've seen if his grab triggered.
Elden Beast really gave him that (literally) flashy finish.
The battle of Godrick cutting to his cutscene letting out his "I am in great danger" scream gotta be the funniest thing I've seen today
"pfft he doesn't know blackfire" chuckles godskin.
"pfft hehehe" the nourished godskin chuckled back with an ominous smirk.
He can withstand a meteor to the back but dies to a mild breeze. What a legend.
"Only a storm can fell a greatwood"
-Ds3 quote
7:48
Yhorm: "Dad, its that you?"
Sir Gideon: I know you'd come, so-
Yhorm: SMAAAAAAAAAAASH
Conclusion: a lot of things other than storm can fell a giant.
That shot of yhorm with the moon behind him and his eye shining red looks so cool
One more time Great Work mate , Love Yhorm.
I've been waiting for this video for 1000 years.
21:11 Placidusax was so close to completing his nuke attack, but he was staggered before he could😭, yet Yhorm still lost🤣. But, the video is so good!☺
It seems like the current fire giant has similar stats, the difference is that yhorm cant be stance broken whatsoever, he just tanks every hit without flinching 😂
Edit: to clarify he cant be stance broken by the fire giant, obviously a few of the other bosses were able to. Even still it only happened about once per battle
Long may the sun shine on this lord of cinder \[-]/
\[^-^]/
Godfrey: "So uhh...You are a pretty big guy..."
Yhorm: "Yes...I am a giant...."
Godfrey: "Did you say....Giant?"
Godfrey's racism is kicking in
How a ranger feels when their favored species to fight is finally in a battle
so now we know that SoC, Yhorm and Maliketh are now like rock, paper and scissors.
Also fight with Placidusax was closer than I thought. He is insanely mobile, has large damage radius and deals lightning damage(the only type Yhorm is weak to)
@@laurencevicar5798soul of cinder was hella buffed when he faced Maliketh. With original stats he would have been food for Maliketh like all ds3 bosses (except Midir in some scenarios)
@@s8theninjawarrior916 Gael and Sister Friede can also beat Maliketh. And I would imagine Aldrich could as well if he fired off his arrow rain before getting killed by DD.
@@s8theninjawarrior916yeah...except he did better than bosses with much better stats. That's the point.
Also 50% is not that big of a buff if you ask me
Yhorm's Great Machete was my absolute favorite weapon in the Dark Souls series ❤️
Ending the Video with Rykards haunting, ghostly laugh is a neat touch!
Yhorm got a Vietnam flashback when he was fighting radahn from Aldrich
Yhorm really felt the struggles many faced when coming face to face with melenia 😅🤣
The frickin lifesteal man!!
Wish she was excluded from these kinds of videos. She kills the whole vibe with her awful game mechanics.
@@secretminty6398 I don't really mind the whole heal on hit mechanic. I think it should have been limited to hits that deal damage so that shields would still be somewhat viable but otherwise she is fine for an endgame boss.
@@OMGUKILLKENNY2 I'd settle for healing on every other hit, but not back to back the way she does.
A boss that heals itself isn't an issue. I don't mind it at all in turn-based RPGs. But in an action game with the Dark Souls combat style, it doesn't work in Malenia's case.
Vicar Amelia, Fume Knight, Ariandel and Friede, they worked amazing. The healing wasn't obnoxious, and sometimes could even be worked around. Malenia is just terrible game design.
Cool lore, cool character, but her mechanic design is just very poor.
@@secretminty6398yeah her fights are mostly just a joke, probably one of the worst bosses in all of souls games!
i don't think i have seen a worst Radahn metioer
Right? 870 is basically nothing I've seen it hit for like 12k before
It doesn't worth much against someone immune to fire
yhorm has fire resistance/immunity so meteor which does mostly fire damage has no effect on him(similar to how mohg can face tank that meteor due to him having 80% fire resistance).
The meteor deals strike and fire damage, which he is extremely resistant to and immune to respectively
@@iamthereddemon20 well yhorm is resistant to everything but lighting and he takes less dmg on the legs and arms
36:17 I love how Yhorm just stood there for a second, like he was stunned someone actually threw him like that
