@@paulwalker8113 I've used the dots in the iron position for my fairway woods and hybrids the last three rounds. Seems to work for me, at least as reminder. YMMV.
I’ve been doing something similar for a few years where I’ve been placing the ball brand name where your three dots are. Same idea. I also use tee box turf spots like divots to help me focus my tee placement for the shot. If I’m try to hit a fade, I’ll place the ball slightly above and behind the turf spot, a draw will have the placement slightly below and behind the turf spot, and a straight shot placement will be directly behind the turf spot. It’s then just a question of going for an inside/outside/straight swing through the turf spot, which serves as a near target. This helps reinforce the type of swing I need- I was never a natural draw hitter, but now I can draw the ball on demand.
Alex, I am amazed at this simple ball marking tip. I have struggled with my driver for years, and I literally mean YEARS! I thought it was the club, so I was fitted with an awesome driver. Still couldn't make good contact and could hit my hybrid off the tee better than the driver. I took your ball marking tip and marked up some balls. I had my company golf tournament the next day! I was too nervous to try the balls off the first tee, due to lack of confidence and pure fear of embarrassment! LOL. So at hole #5, I pulled a marked ball out of my bag, grabbed my driver and set up per your instructions. I took a deep breath, let it out, and swung the club. SMASH, the first ball, the first swing, I nailed it about 190 yrds. I pulled it just a bit, but I was set up for the next shot. I used my driver on ever par 4 and 5 after that. Great success. On hole 18, (we were playing best ball with three girls and one guy) our guy shanked his drive on a long par five. I set my position again per your instructions, and smashed one straight down the middle of the fairway over 200 yrds. The whole team cheered and had some highfives!! I was thrilled. Thank you again for this simple tip and giving me the confidence to use my driver again. You are awesome!!! Ann Marie
Hi Alex, love your videos and tips. Video's are a perfect length, not to short and not to long. Just enough to cover the material you are trying to teach. My question is this: I am about a 10 handicap, but have always struggled with my driver off the tee. Off the tee, I either hit a low, snap hook to the left or I will hit a slice to the right. Every once in a (great) while, I will hit one right down the middle and relatively long. I hit my irons straight, but I'm just looking for more consistency with my driver. Thanks very much Alex...... -Tom
I have used several of your driver tips and I'm hitting the ball straighter and 25 yards further than I was at the end of last year. Can't wait to go to the course and try this newest tip. Quick question how about a video on striking the ball at 100 yards or less. Keep those great videos coming Jeremy Ouderkirk
Alex, I implemented this technique today at the driving range and the results were amazing. I hit the ball more consistent almost every time. Thank you for the tip. I look forward to setting up like this each time I get ready to hit my driver and irons. Keep the tips coming and I’ll look forward to my score coming down.
Watched this yesterday and tasted it out!!!! Best tip ever, absolutely loved it. Also worked with the woods on the fairway with my imaginary dots on the left. 😊. This will defiantly lower my score. Thanks a mil.
Alex! I drive the ball well 90% of the time. I hit irons well and have been practicing to improve them as well, especially with my lack of short game... but where I lose my A$$ is on the green. I need putting direction! What can you show us about putting? love the channel, keep up the great work!
I commented on another video - Thank you! I just got back and using your triangle and x on the golf ball was huge! Plus, I angled my right foot a bit which I have never done and the ball went straight - not as long but straight! I subscribed and will be watching more - thanks!
I can't wait to try this tomorrow. Your teachings have already gotten me to break 100 and to be very close to bogey golf in just a matter of about a month of watching these videos. Amazing.
Great tips Alex - last 2 rounds my drives have been significantly longer - (have driven 2 par 4s and reached a par 5 in two) and accuracy has been over 70% of fairways s hit - now just need to work on putting and short game!!!
Hi - Please hit the bell 🔔 if you go on my channel home page there is a bell next to the subscribe button, this will mean you will get notified if you click on it! Thank you
Alex ,another bang on set up tip !! Overthinking is what destroys the scorecard! Can you demonstrate how to hit a stinger around or thru trees ? I often find myself in the rough near the trees and struggle with shot height and accuracy. Cheers to you !!
Love your work Alex. Just a quick question for you. I am a 70 year old lady just under 5 feet tall. I had to lay off golf for approx 20 years through illness. I have been playing again now for approx 18 months and absolutely loving it. I always grip half way down the grip on my clubs to feel comfortable. Some have been shortened by 1 inch. My driver however is normal length. Do you feel I would benefit from even shorter clubs? Would love your thoughts if you have time. Many thanks.
Another viewpoint that confuses golfers concerns the alignment mark on top of the driver head at setup. Typically, if that mark is directly in line with the middle of the golf ball it appears (visually), from the golfer's viewpoint, that it is farther away from you than the mid-point of the golf ball. It looks like you are set up with the ball closer to the heel....but it is NOT! Conversely, if that alignment mark, again from the golfer's viewpoint, looks like it is directly behind the center of the ball it is NOT. In reality, the ball is slightly closer to the toe of the driver. To check it out, set up to the ball with your driver. Then have someone stand over the ball and look straight down and tell you where that alignment mark is in relation to the back center of the ball.
Great drill I’ll definitely try. However any tips for getting my driver swing more up right? My swing is too shallow resulting in a slice. Yet my irons are dead straight. Help please.
Messed around with this last night in the simulator and was striking my irons better and more consistently! My question is, do you setup your fairway woods the same as driver (IE: 3 dots towards back foot)? Hybrids I presume are done like the irons? Cheers!
I have been skying my ball (when using my driver) lately and was told it was because I was leaning right. I noticed you leaning right, and you hit the ball perfectly. Any suggestions? I do not exaggerate when I lean to the right. It happens at least three times out of nine holes. Thanks
@AlexElliotGolf great video, very simple tips... So this is a problem I struggle with all of the time I am a 6'5" golfer. I have clubs that are custom fit for me by the tour fitters. I struggle greatly with how far the ball is supposed to be away from me at address with my irons. I fell like I am always too far away or when I feel like im closer I am way over top of the ball feeling like im making impact very steep. Any drills or videos for that?
Alex I’ve being playing pretty well until I entered medal competition and everything went south, have any tips to allow my brain to forget the score card.
Hi, would you say that golf is mainly left handed or right handed for a predominantly right handed person? I struggle with which hand takes the club away Thank you
Is there much of a set up change from short irons to long? I’m absolutely fine with wedges up to my 7 iron, but from 6 onwards, all the way up to driver, I often have a horrible fade/slice.
Great tips for tee shots but what about my second shot with irons. You play it where it lies so then do you recommend doing everything the same but it must be done mentally?
I struggle teeing off with any wood, driver or fairway. Sadly, I’m hitting my 5 iron further than my hybrid, woods and driver. The woods tend to be hooking machines 😥
Just…… last two weeks, regular player, developed the shanks🤷🏼♂️ Don’t know where it has come from however, I had been working on a draw swing from being pretty neutral ☹️☹️
I seldom compress the ball and never take a divot with my irons although I am an 8 handicap. I move the ball forward & back in my stance but w/o success. What should I do to compress the ball & take a divot?
Have to be honest Alex... I'm not sure WHERE I've been looking. My drives have been straight as an arrow lately so... I'm afraid to rock the boat, lol. 👍🏽⛳️
Will you guys make up your mind? Look behind the ball ,look in front of the ball its all contradiction and gotten to the point where its just anything to create content. I watched a video a few weeks ago where you said i should look ahead of the ball to compress better. Honestly youtube coaches are just making the average golfer worse just for content.
There isn't a techiqnue that works for all goflers, so i have to accommodate different approaches for everything. If you don't have anything to say don't say it at all 😃
*This is a GREAT hack for your DRIVER & IRONS! Simple yet so effective*
Which way would you position dots for hybrids and woods ? Good tips fella ❤
Another great simple tip. Do you teach here in the USA?

I really love your tips. They're simple and concise. I've used my fair share of them on the range and course to vastly improve my game. Thanks Alex!

Absolutely brilliant! Heading to the range shortly to try it out! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes love that!!!
Used this technique on the course yesterday and shot my lowest round of the year so far. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Wow! That was simple. Usually the “simple” tip, is anything but. 👏🏻
Great ideas for setting up to the ball quickly. Loved the player cam view! I think it drives home the points you are making. Jeff
So simple again, yet absolutely gold. Cheers Alex.
Thank you Brian!! I hope you golf is improving
I cannot wait to get out on the range and try this. It looks so simple and easy to remember. Thanks Alex
Gonna try this one on the range Sunday. Thanks again, Alex
Love to

Golfing tomorrow. Gonna give this a try on the range prior to tee off
report back and let me know how you get on with this on todays video!!
ciao Alex, thanks for the exercises, every week a little bit better, I would like to aim better at the flag, attack more.grazie mille from italic
Love to hear that I can help you improve your golf
I can't figure out: what is the purpose of the cross on the left side of the ball?
Definitely going to give this a try. Thanks Alex

Thank you Alex
Pretty rad trick mang
Thank you
What was the response for how you would do this with hybrids?
Gonna go take this one to the range tomorrow
Yes that is amazing to hear. Let me know on tomorrow video how you get on!!
Great drill I’ll definitely try. However any tips for getting my driver swing more up right? My swing is too shallow resulting in a slice. Yet my irons are dead straight. Help please.
What great way to settle the brain, thanks Alex.
So as good as this video is, which set of knuckles do you want right behind the golf ball? Your lead hand or trail hand?
Messed around with this last night in the simulator and was striking my irons better and more consistently! My question is, do you setup your fairway woods the same as driver (IE: 3 dots towards back foot)? Hybrids I presume are done like the irons?

Holy dots Batman, this definitely will help.
Love to hear that Paul!!!
Well done alex 🏌♂️ 👏 👍
thank you ken
Absolutely great.
Your tips work
What is the trick for the 5 wood. Nothing wroks for that.
How can i improveon 5 wood?.
Thank you so much!! I would say use the iron style!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
After hundreds of rounds I finally had a ‘hole in one’ today off the first tee.
Went completely downhill after that just to drag me back to reality. 😂
Alex I’ve being playing pretty well until I entered medal competition and everything went south, have any tips to allow my brain to forget the score card.
Hi Alex, silly question but left or right knuckles over the dots for right had player) ?
Hi, would you say that golf is mainly left handed or right handed for a predominantly right handed person? I struggle with which hand takes the club away

Hi Alex Again my question; how do play down, and upper lies?
Is there much of a set up change from short irons to long? I’m absolutely fine with wedges up to my 7 iron, but from 6 onwards, all the way up to driver, I often have a horrible fade/slice.
Brilliant idea that works!!

OW no John, keep your eyes on the channel ill have your sorted out
I wish I lived in England so I could come visit and get a lesson also what ball do you use?
Vice!
Àlex, great vidieo.
Is it legal to use these ball markings in this way?
I get the dots, but what does the X do?
Sometimes, with my driver , the ball will go out to about 150 yards then dive down hard into the ground. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Hi Alex I occasionally loft my drives yet it doesn't happen on the range. Can you give me a tip on how to stop this. Thanks Mike
Hello Mike great question keep your eyes on the channel i will have you covered
Does this have the same result playing off the ground with like a fairway wood?
No i won’t unfortunately
Nice got balls covered in dots from previous info, that worked,,, so will convert a dot into a cross, repetition works
Love that Garry!! How are you getting on with the chipping tip?!
@@AlexElliottGolf well have reverted to a chipper on long run ins but regular members stoning me lol
Just…… last two weeks, regular player, developed the shanks🤷🏼♂️ Don’t know where it has come from however, I had been working on a draw swing from being pretty neutral ☹️☹️

What should I do to compress the ball & take a divot?
Try the FINAL part of this video and make that setup tweak then report back. If that doesn’t work I’ll create another drill for you!
I'm getting back into golf and hitting my irons pretty good but still not taking a divet ?
hi don are you long irons all going similar distances or do they do get longer and longer around 6 5 iron mark
excellent 🎉
thankyou so much
Thank you Alex. Very very much!!!!
Thank you
I consistently hit my driver on the hillside of the club. What can I do to fix this prblem?
Hi charles check out this video ruclips.net/video/P-Syjg8S-pY/видео.html
Now I only have to figure out which one of the three dots I need to look at...
Have to be honest Alex... I'm not sure WHERE I've been looking. My drives have been straight as an arrow lately so... I'm afraid to rock the boat, lol.
👍🏽⛳️
hahah don't change it if its not broke hahaha
Ok ok... I subscribe 😉
Welcome aboard!
Giving it a try tomorrow. Golf balls are marked.
If you mark the ball, do you actually see the club hit the golf ball
I would say I use it as a focus point
Clever
Can you help a lefty out…please😊
YES for sure!!! I will always keep lefties in mind!
Alex great tips Just sent comments about my driver going straighter and longer can you give some tips on 3wood on fairway and tee please CHRIS DIETZ

As a right hand golfer your left hand knuckles should be on the right hand side of the ball when driving?
