Yesterday I commented on this video. Today I took it to the course. Thanks for the visual. I thought about this wall all day and no kidding: 16 outbof 18 driver shots were straight! Thanks!
Coach Lockey keeps delivering the best driver instruction I have ever seen. After the last video on take away and sequencing the driver swing, my club head speed, ball speed, and carry distance have gone up. Today my first 3 drives went offline right OB. I'm going to try this. It looks like he's teeing it higher than I am.
@3:56 "rather than having the handle drag across" Good sir, I think you just changed my life.... I've been doing it wrong my whole life.... I stopped doing that, and now I'm feeling the release all the way through my arms and shoulders now, not just my hands.... THANK YOU. It's like the whole of the arm is releasing from my chest/center now, not handsy at all... feels so much more square and balanced and free... .omg
Driver was always a strength of my game until about 12 months ago, started to hit a horrible push slice. Practiced this at the range then took it to the course, started hitting my usual draw again. Cannot thank you enough for this, simple and to the point instruction, fantastic
I happened upon this video on my search for the secret to improving my directional consistency. I’m not a slicer but I have a bidirectional miss pattern (low pulls and high blocks)…the head movement idea has been helping me tremendously with my weight shift and release…so far…pretty exciting, but I’m still cautiously optimistic that it will stand the test of time. Thanks so much!
Adam Porzak does the same thing but with the tip of a knife against your left temple for righties. Just works. Opposite temple for irons stops you moving backwards off the ball. Worth a try. Cheers coach.
Lockey, you freaking did it, I stayed 60 seconds more and got the best tip of the year (for me at least) the mental wall did it, I pushed away from the ground and from the wall, which gave me the most beautiful baby draw in my drive, and took me to 260 meters in the first shot on the course. It was A mazing, Thank you so much.
I can't thank you enough for this tip, took it to the course this morning and after hitting a few to warm up the difference in my driver was night and day. Been struggling with a bad slice over recent months so this tip was just what i needed. Thank you! ⛳️
Nicely done Coach! Always love the instruction with the breakdown. The thing with head is something I like to do personally. Then again, I also have a pretty short neck so I naturally turn my chin back as well only seeing the ball in peripheral vision. Recently I’ve had the opposite problem hooking hard… 😢
Coach , great video, so carrying this one step further, does any of this technic apply to the iron swing? I would be very curious what your thoughts are about this. Thanks!
Yeah this ,in my case , definitely helps..the thing is ,and i cant explain this,..,is my best results seem to happen when i dont get my weight forward ..if i consciously get my weight over front foot theres no telling where the ball will go. But if i end with weight on my back foot (almost like some sort of reverse tilt (for lack of better wording) the ball goes almost perfectly straight ..its an odd feeling of thinking “damn this shot will be ugly “ then seeing a bomb straight down the fairway… so i know im making other mistakes but ill be damned if i can figure it out 🤷🏼♂️✌️👍🏼 ..
Huge huge huge thing that no one ever says. Let me start by saying I mirror your thinking. And even though I don't use this as a swing thought, it is part of how I swing and when I don't stay behind with my head, I could push or fade (unwanted) BUT what I do that even allows me to do anything is keep my arms in front of my chest. I have to allow my arms to fold and rotate without reaching back. I notice in all the good players is they all rotate their core and keep arm in front
Hey Coach. Great video. I don't really slice the driver but it's more of a push right. Not all the time but when it does, it goes straight right, any advice? Maybe on another video? Thx
Used to be the same for me. A lesson showed me it was due to me hitting with an open face. I made my trip stronger, closed the club gave more and that push went away. Not an instructor but maybe that helps you like it did me
So, it’s not moving my head away from the wall, but first I need to move towards and then away? I don’t get it. How can I swing my head to and from the wall? Why not just away?
Hi Matt I’ve subscribed to your channel hope you get to 100k been listening to you on NCG podcast. The I golfers I think it’s a great idea they can enter competitions on a weekend at a golf club where their not a member but will they be willing to pay entry fee alongside green fee where they aren’t allowed to win any prize money. Interested in your thoughts. NB I will definitely try your tip I’m a 1 handicapper who has a 2 way miss with driver.
Love your videos, but this video was more about club face, body movement and positioning, thought it was specifically about "how" to release, not where. In any case, still a helpful video.!
8 out of 10 golfers most certainly do not slice the golf ball. Slice?? Really?? Alot of golfers fade the ball. Is that what you mean? A fade is not a slice. Pros/top amateurs tend to draw the ball. But they don't hook it, generally. A draw is not a hook. Terminology innit?
Bro I’ll never watch another of your videos. I quit watching after your (hopefully) last product placement. I realize you gotta make money but you really need to fix your format. Good luck 😂

Let’s gooo 👍 keep that feeling for as long as you can.
What only 2 Par 3s 😮
No, 4. I use the driver on a par 3 on this course

Tee it high, let it fly 😉

Thats a great tip to practice.

Glad it helped! 👌
Best golf coach on the internet. Wish you’d visit us in Boston USA someday.
Never been there, get me a course to coach at and I’ll be there 👍
Really good, thank you! Going to try it at the range.
Hope you enjoy it!

Cracking tip coach
Will adding side bend not move the low point?

Just back from the range after watching this. Absolutely amazing results. Cheers A🏌🏼♂️⛳️
Great info
Glad you think so! 👍
Great tip Lockey! I’ve been struggling with this and I reckon this will sort me out 👍
Hope it helps 👌
Idk what it is coach I can fix the open face on the range but sometimes it can’t be controlled on course.
Does this include irons too?

Do you swing the club head to the right to ensure an in to out path?
If you want to 👍
@@CoachLockey if you don't what to do you to ensure full extension and release in to out
With all the U tube coaches which method do select because there all similar but different
Find someone you enjoy watching and resonates with your game the most.
Coach - do you have an iron release video too?
Think this is an iron release ideo 👍 ruclips.net/video/ueMUIH2L8NM/видео.html

Great tip !! Thank you ....
You're welcome!
The thing that helped me and it can help you all is, leading with the hand/handle. You should try it!
Literally the opposite to what I say in this video if you struggle with a slice 😂

I will try this tomorrow and let ya know!
Merci pour ce conseil depuis la France , je vais essayer car c est ce que je cherche ne pas partir avec la balle
A wounded duck !!!! A term for all you beginners. More embarrassing than a push or a slice. Re -Tee and what comes next ...a low hook. There is hope!
Moving my body past the ball on the down swing has been my problem my whole life.
won't the weight be on the back foot?
Don't forget the very first step, pressure into left foot. that is what keeps the weight from being on back foot
I must have a club head speed of 160 if that chart is accurate :P
If I could start getting off the tee more consistently my handicap would come way done
Who actually gets 130 mph clubhead speed ?
Not many people…. But some do 👍
I hit 185 the other day. My divot now rivals the Grand Canyon.
What happened to Crossfield and Lockey working together? Does it not happen anymore or did something happen?

Thanks for the lesson. But why are you poking your nose into the camera?
Just so you comment 😉 haha
