I remember that year 1983.. Warren Cann won the Biggest Hairstyle award (Percussion category - sub category "hairspray assisted") in the Brit Awards 😂

Comprei esse álbum do ULTRAVOX VIENNA por causa da música SLEEPWALK em 1980 .

Picture quality is brilliant, thanks for this. I remember Midge once saying "we'll get piled up with all the old Genesis records". Bought the stereo mix of VIENNA recently, it sounds mint! Have to dig out Quartet too

I was 18 and synths were the future. I saw the rage in Eden tour at Newcastle city hall, I went early and walked right through the front door, midge was at the mixing desk checking settings I imagine, dunno what he thought when some random thrust an album at him from nowhere lol.

This is a studio copy, hence all the silence and minimal editing in between songs. Mimed, like early top of the pops

Badly mimed too, or at least the music has been dubbed on later. Notice nothing is plugged in and the drums have been dampened so they won't make any noise when hit. I wonder what it was filmed for ? Maybe to be cut up and overlaid on official videos or PR material.
      Interesting nonetheless.

@@lachatnoir1127 TOTP was basically a visual radio show. It would have been impossible to set-up, soundcheck and tear-down each band's equipment in the few minutes between songs, even in the days when it didn't go out in real time. Compare that to the Old Grey Whistle Test where you could see everything set up for the one or two acts in the background during the whole show. I still wonder what this was for as it is obviously fake and there's no audience, maybe practicing for some Saturday morning/evening variety TV show.

When you have a chorus sung like that the camera is on...this is all fake

This was TV shows those days. Go watch live, tour, or "old grey wistle test" show to see how their sound. There're plenty of them.
