Wow!! Ive never seen this!! This must be near the end of 1984 early 1985? Never seen Midge so jacked up, just awesome!! Billy using OSCar I think, really cool to hear Loves greatest adventures live!

I'm sure this is the particular show of the Tube when Geldof phoned Paula Yates to find out who was on as he wanted to put out a record for charity. Midge spoke to Geldof on the phone they formed Band Aid and the rest is history.

Geldof saw the show and contacted Midge straight after, talked him into doing something for Africa. The rest became history.

ScottishTeeVee - Sorry for the late reply. I would have to drag out my tapes, and hook up my VCR. I have an interesting program about Madness. I always recorded Ultravox, R.E.M., and Madness.

A night in music and fund raising history...bob geldof waiting on the phone to talk to midge about band aid.
I read that 'good ole Bob' pilfered the funds. His old band Boomtown Rats had what one hit and he's worth approx 235,000,000 British pounds? how can that be while Midge is worth maybe 20,000,000?
Mr Ure looks like a high seas pirate, good performances though😄

By 1984, even I thought of Ultravox as very mainstream, just not what the audience of this show wanted to see

I seem to remember they appear live on the show more than one time, they were certainly on the show a few times, interviewed etc.

@@paranormalpendle5920 I checked for you, throughout the full series of The Tube, Ultravox only appeared on the show twice. This performance on Nov 4th 1984 and on October 26th 1984, which I have also uploaded and there is a link to that video at the very end of this video. Midge Ure appeared on the show on two other occasions, solo interviewed.
