    Lyrics:
We walked in the cold air
Freezing breath on a window pane
    Lying and waiting
A man in the dark in a picture frame
    So mystic and soulful
A voice reaching out in a piercing cry
    It stays with you until
The feeling has gone, only you and I
    It means nothing to me
    This means nothing to me
    Oh, Vienna
    The music is weaving
    Haunting notes, pizzicato strings
    The rhythm is calling
Alone in the night as the daylight brings
    A cool empty silence
The warmth of your hand and a cold grey sky
    It fades to the distance
The image has gone, only you and I
    It means nothing to me
    This means nothing to me
    Oh, Vienna
    This means nothing to me
    This means nothing to me
    Oh, Vienna

I was a disillusioned 29 year old man in 2015, and all given up about being a musician, as I couldn't find neither a steady job nor earn enough to make a living. Then, I passed an audition in the city of Vienna that changed my life. Every time I get there and see the distant skyline on the horizon as driving on the Autobahn, I play this song and thank The Beatles, The Police, Bryan Adams, Johnny Cash, The Who and of course Ultravox for getting me through tough times and for giving me the strength and will to keep on believing in my impossible dream. #vienna

And, to be totally frank, it feels great. I wish I could tell my 16 year old self... there is a way, out there into the world. #KeepTheDreamAlive :)

I saw them 13 times live during the Vienna to Lament period and I can tell you it was a magnificent experience. From the theatre of the venues with all the dressing up and New Romantic vibe to the music...they were a superb band live and really had a strong and dedicated following, which was reflected in the turnout at their reunion. I almost caught one of the drumsticks they threw into their crowd during their famous drum line up sessions near the end of their shows...but it hit me on the head and some other guy got it that day. I do miss those days. Best concert I saw of them was at the Dominion Theatre in London where they did a one off fancy dress affair..it was marvellous and had one of the Royal Ballet dancing to this during Billies violin part...magical.

I would always see stills from this show in magazines. But damnit, MTV NEVER F*CKING PLAYED IT. Oh, to have been in that crowd.

Advanced Living - MTV played it every once in a rare blue moon. The usually played Reap the Wild Wind, One Small Day, and Dancing with Tears in My Eyes.

Fulgent Fun and don’t forget “Hymn” which got play every blue moon. They didn’t, however play this kick ass version of Vienna which was around at the time.

When I was a kid the song scared me for some reason... now I regard it as one my all time favourite songs. Also my 10 and 6 year old love the song, betting it out in the car when driving them to school.

I’ve always wondered how much input John Foxx had on this album. He was definitely part of Mr X because he used it on Metamatic

Like the other St Albans clip of Sleepwalk, this is clearly mimed to a swift re-recording, vocal included. It's obvious in part because Chris doesn't mess up his bass line.
