It's really like LOSING FAMILY. Crazy how a very few celebrity on TV can hit you that way. but Sherman Hemsley will be in my heart and my families heart forever. I grew up watching, "The Jeffersons" and will always remember how much laughter he brought to my heart. At 9 yrs old, I was a severely depressed child and to get me to laugh was not a simple task. He was brilliant and I will always appreciate his bold comedy. Tyler, thank you for using performers from a certain generation to remind us that they are valued and certainly appreciated for their work.

Wow I just realized the importance of life. I watch a preacher last night tell me that we need to give our time to our family and friends because we don't know when life will end and for Mr. Hensley I thank you for all that you did. Growning up watching you was inspiring and even though I possibly watched reruns back then I enjoyed every episode. He was a successful Businessman who didnt take no for an answer but definitely admitted when he was wrong. I wish more black folks would model themselves after him...Stop the negative stigmas associated with being black today.

I remember Easter 1978. My 7 year old brother had on a black pin strip suit and my mother sent him to store. I saw my brother a mile away walking home doing the George Jefferson strut to a "T." I said all man.

I haven't seen enough attention given to his contribution to our community...he was a phenomenal actor, and even in character he showed us the life of an entrepreneur in The Jeffersons and a peek of the happenings in church administration on Amen...it is undeniable how much our fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers and uncles admired his example and "moved on up" following his footsteps. I was just watching the first part of Georges (Shermans) final appearance on House of Payne, as IMDb listed it as his final tv appearance with his wonderful sidekick, Florence (Marla), as I wasn't happy with how the powers that be involved with the final season of The Jeffersons didn't have the kind of proper send off the show deserved!!!!!!!!!!!! This is REALLY touching and I love Sherman and Marlas appearance, it's like they never left us.......(I still have to watch the entire episode!!!!!) AND to find out while on IMDb that Elvis' (My favourite entertainer ever, but I love George/Sherman/The Jeffersons and Archie/Caroll/All in the Family too!!!!!) maid mentions that The Jeffersons was one of his favourite shows, he sure had great taste!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love The Jefferson's! I saw this episode of HOP when it originally aired and it was so great to see him in the role of George Jefferson again. Mr.Hemsley was a funny, funny man. He will be missed! RIP sir!
The great Sherman Hemsley was also Earl Sinclair's blowhard boss, B.P. Richfield on Disney's Dinosaurs, 1991-94!!!

I was just watching the first part of Georges (Shermans) final appearance on House of Payne, as IMDb listed it as his final tv appearance with his wonderful sidekick, Florence (Marla), as I wasn't happy with how the powers that be involved with the final season of The Jeffersons didn't have the kind of proper send off the show deserved!!!!!!!!!!!! This is REALLY touching and I love Sherman and Marlas appearance, it's like they never left us.......(I still have to watch the entire episode!!!!!) AND to find out while on IMDb that Elvis' (My favourite entertainer ever, but I love George/Sherman/The Jeffersons and Archie/Caroll/All in the Family too!!!!!) maid mentions that The Jeffersons was one of his favourite shows, he sure had great taste!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sherman Hemsley owned that role as George Jefferson. No one could have played that role better than him! Nobody! The whole cast was excellent back in the days. I really miss the show.
As always a class act Tyler. This is why God is always blessing you, you never forget to honor others and always reaching out to others and yet you remain so humble. I can't wait for your next movie gonna give Denzil a run for his money :) Love ya
