🕊R.I.P. to the Late Great Sherman Hemsley. Thank you for the most unforgettable characters on tv Mr. George Jefferson and Deacon Frye. 🕯🙏🏽❤ Rest in Power.
I love Sherman Hemsley. He was so great as Deacon Frye and George Jefferson.
Love this! It’s so wonderful to see an actor being him or herself in an interview and seeing how completely different he or she is in comparison to the characters we see on screen and know and love! Sherman, as Marla Gibbs has said, was an introvert and soft-spoken in complete opposition to George Jefferson and Deacon Frye, and it’s so interesting to witness this. Just goes to show the talent that some amazing people have 😊
It’s the voice for me……wow R.I.P 🫶🏽🫶🏽
What a great man never took himself too serious.....incredible actor
Loved him in The Jeffersons and Amen !
It’s interesting that both he and Carroll O’Connor were nothing like their characters on their shows.
True, and neither were Jean Stapleton and Isabel Sanford. Just shows you how talented they were.
R.I.P. 💔😢🙏🏼🌹. Very warm humble man. That sitcom will go down in history as one of the best👍
So different frm his ‘loud’ george jefferson character. That how good he was
@Daniel Jackson Amen to that!😁
An interesting thing I read once is that his tv wife Isabelle Sanford -'Weezie' was actually 20 years older than Sherman ! - that was surprizing to learn. I guess it was that he looked older than his years, and she looked younger, that they seemed the same age as a couple
Sherman was an intensely private person. Acting is often a release for people. It was rumored he was closeted, which might explain the desire for privacy.
Great actor. He was so funny !
He was on an episode of 227. Marla Gibbs was slso on that show. It was a great episode. He gave a show of his fancy footwork. 🤤😊
Seeing him on being Bobby Brown comes to mind. He didn't seem to take himself too seriously. Seemed very personable in his interaction with Bobby💛
R.I.P. Awesome actor with Amazing comic timing.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mr. Hemsley being interviewed. Thank you for the video. 🙂
This was one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen
Costas talking to anyone is worthwhile
@@ClevelandLiveMusic yeah he’s a great interviewer
Great show! The most HILLARIOUS scenes (to me) were the ones where George and Florence were verbally "sparring"!!
Costas is such an excellent interviewer.
That was a talented man loved by many❤❤❤❤❤
He is a awesome and great actor and we miss him we will see him again in glory
Unless you move on down🔥
@@cuttinupthecarpet504 LOL you ain't right
@@cuttinupthecarpet504😂👏👍🎯
Quiet, clean and kind, the opposite of George Jefferson! Sherman did THE JOB of all times playing George, I still laugh my ass off whenever I see a "Jeffersons" episode...
In this interview, he makes some facial expressions that remind me of De Niro, don't know why...
Uhhm, I think you should look up Gong and Sherman Helmsley.
Grew up on The Jeffersons. Always liked George. Like Sherman even more.
He was such a good person, he was the one that made me laugh when I was a kid in the 70s he died way to soon RIP Mr.Hemsley
Yeah i remembered he voiced the triceratops BP Richfield on "Dinosaurs"
Quante risate...adoro i jefferson ❤ grazie.
💖💖💖💖
The Partridge family was based upon a real actual famous musical family named the Cowsills. Shirley Jones was a good singer, and her stepson David Cassidy was a famous musician.
Mito Sherman Hemsley ❤
Bob Costa's always had the best researchers. Ex Marilu Henner. Sherman was an interesting guy. Very Highly thought of. A renaisance man.
Rip legend from dinosaurs❤❤
Legend
What a humble guy. Great to hear him not go off on politics or the typical Hollywood left wing BS. You could tell deutschbag Costas wanted him to go there.
What's the name of the song played during the interval of the interview?
The music substituted for the photo montage segment (to avoid copyright strikes) is by The Janglers and titled "Sweet Providence".
@@ClevelandLiveMusic Thank you.
@@martinalaporta2724 the CD is on eBay
Sherman❤
Speaking of Sanford and son imagine if he would of been on that show
💕
Bob Costos love to bring up race
But he is a good not great interviewer
It was a funny show PERIOD
Bob Costas is one of those interviewers that puts himself in front too much. He almost answers the questions himself. It's annoying. Others like him are Howard Stern and Charlie Rose. Not good interviewers.
