Watch 'War of Lies: How to Sell an Invasion' here: • War of Lies: How to Se...
Guantánamo Bay, and then what? After 13 years, a 38-year-old Palestinian named Muhammad is released from the notorious detention camp, where he was starved, tortured, and humiliated. He gets the chance to start a new life in Uruguay, where he’ll get a home and welfare money. He has two years, then he’ll be on his own.
We follow Muhammad, a calm and very devout man, as he goes about his daily life, starting with his arrival in his new homeland and continuing until the end of the two years. He studies Spanish, learns to drive, prays, takes courses, calls his mother, and together with his Uruguayan wife looks for clothes for the baby they’re expecting. He’s resigned as he grapples with the local bureaucracy, but his eyes speak volumes.
At well-timed moments, we hear him talking in voice-over about his traumatic experiences in Guantánamo. Most of all, we see him looking for work, but who will take him on?
Freedom Is a Big Word shows how goodwill can descend into a sense of impotence in this confrontation with reality.

Kidnapping and detaining people on suspicion and subjecting them to torture and humiliation, and in some cases even killing them, is equivalent to 'human trafficking' and small-scale holocaust.

This is a very unfortunate story. On the one hand, it is the American country which has been imposing democracy and humane values and, on the other hand, detaining innocent people on suspicion and subjecting them to torture and humiliation for years. When no evidence of a crime is found, it releases them after long detentions and sometimes erases every record and proof of their citizenship. These types of problems exist not only in the US, but also in many countries. Unfortunately, detained persons are also rejected by their countries of origin, and at such times their families suffer deep despair and depression and social boycott. This is nothing but an unjust oppression. Many countries play the safe game and do not even try to find their missing citizens or even try to find out if their citizens have been unjustly detained by another country. Human values and ethics are degrading in all countries nowadays. In the name of security, many countries are using advanced technology to keep citizens under unwanted surveillance. The unjust oppression of innocent people in all countries should be stopped.
May God protect all innocent people and their families and make all their affairs easy and grant them peace, happiness and success.(Aameen)

“Guantánamo remains an “enduring symbol of the injustice, abuse, and disregard for the rule of law that the U.S. unleashed in response to the 9/11 attacks.” Thirty-nine Muslim men remain with 27 who have never been charged with crime. It has been twenty years of this illegal and inhumane project that has stolen the lives of hundreds of Muslims.” from a research paper Georgetown University
