as the comment above perfectly displays, most of the species is fine, its the ones who have obtained far more resources than they ever deserved and became insane from power who are the problem. luckily they are less than 1% of the population and are easily eliminated since they deemed themselves the only humans on earth and segregate from all the real humans.

If nuclear weapons are used in the near-term future it's something we'd have maybe an hours' warning about because that's how the game theory governing this stuff works. The difference of a few minutes can decide whether one side's missiles are destroyed in their silos or if they're able to get airborne before the enemy's warheads arrive. That being said the calculus has completely changed from the Cold War era. Today there's 1/10th the number of deployed nuclear weapons and more importantly missile defense has reached the point where there's now a fair chance of shooting down a incoming missile attack. If you remember the attempted missile strike on Isreal by Iran they intercepted 99% of them. It's effectiveness well exceeded the expectations of the most optimistic advocates of missile defense, myself included. Today we live in a world where the prospect of mutual annihilation is no longer guaranteed. The west has invested heavily in this technology while Russia has only developed newer nuclear weapon delivery methods meant to evade these systems which have turned out to be less than effective against of our more advanced missile defense systems. If 1 out of every 100 of their missiles reach their targets while 99% of our missiles hit their targets, how long can the Russians hold out? Probably not very long. The end is near for Russia if it makes the ridiculous decision to use nuclear weapons. This is as much of a deterrence as any for anyone who wants to remain alive.

Consider that all wars are financial wars. They are not ideological. We are only taught that wars are fought for ideologies, which is a ruse. The subsquent moving of national borders, the appropriation of resources, the supply of the war machine, are the aims. And like they said in this documentary, war becomes its own aim. All nations must compete in a race for superiority or have contracts with superior nations. This is a never ending circle. Or it ends when the environment can no longer supply what the war machine needs or what is necessary habitat for human survival.
War is always a class war. War is the ultimate solution to crush the resistance to the world market masters addicted to wealth and power hoarding. As such class warfare is also an ideological war in which the capitalist class uses all kinds of lies and conspiracies invented to confuse and divide. Since they don’t have a nationality the wealthy uses nationality to divide us and engineer those wars. Borders are for the divided used as cannon fodder . Wars are in that sense a profitable enterprise both politically and economical. The hated ideology is socialism. Because it is the ideology of the working class.
All school curriculum must be replaced with this.

Wow the military CO2 emission equate to around 10% of global emissions - more than 5 times the aviation industry. And one Jet aeroplane uses as much fuel per hour as 500 cars 😮💨.

All this is a shame, and I hate to say it, but man predisposition to cull other men goes back to the beginning. Even when the world was vast, and people few, when groups chanced to meet, they fought to the utter annihilation of the other. We might have polished our act a bit, and softened the edges of our co-existence with the human politic, but nothing has changed. It seems nature might know something that we don’t, or won’t discuss, and that is that man’s very existence is predicated on the culling we must undertake not to overpopulate the world.
