      While i wholeheartedly agree with total legalization and normalization of cannabis, i am against this pseudoscientific glorification of cannabis. It is IMPOSSIBLE that cannabis can "cure cancer" (ie selectively kill cancerous cells?) or "cure AIDS" (ie selectively destroy viral DNA embedded in human cells?). These claims are laughable. Cannabis should be treated like any other recreational drug: nicotine, caffeine, alcohol. They have benefits and risks.

      I have had epilepsy since age of 15 (acquired brain injury). After the medication for 6 mnths, I threw them into the toilet (total zombie) & put up with the seizures.
      I started smoking weed as a rebellious teenager & and without even realising it I was seizure free for 4 years. I then married a rather straight laced young lady & started medication again. Of course break through seizures occurred again.
      Thankfully I managed to find a good neurologist & slowly found a regime of meds that works, EXCEPT for partial complex seizures.
      As such, I'm seriously considering starting the weed again.
      Problem being Australia does not have legal use of the natural resource & only medicinal for severe cases.
      As part of the medication management, I have to have a liver function test annually, as the meds damage the liver over time.

      That's the real problem. People who like weed so much they don't want to hear the negative side to their drug of choice. There are numerous studies showing marijuanas negative effects on the developing brain. There are studies showing it increases biomarkers which correlate with Schizophrenia. There are studies which show it causes emotional blunting. There are studies showing it's even worse than cigarettes when smoked (this consequence could be prevented though by adjusting of ROA). Still, enough evidence showing marijuana should be used in moderation by the gross amount of people and prevented from being used by the younger ones.

      You're deluding yourself. The research is quite clear, pot only somewhat impacts some symptoms of some ailments for some people some of the time when they first start using it. The symptom ameliorating effects of pot are only scientifically detectable for a month or up to 6 weeks, then people take pot to keep from feeling the effects of withdrawing from it. If you've been using pot for more than 6 weeks, the benefits you think you are feeling are due to not going through withdrawal and due tot he placebo effect. The studies done by these so called professionals is inaccurate, because a lot of these countries where marijuana is illegal, the user must go to the black market to find marijuana, where it is 90% sprayed with different chemicals to enhance the high and smell. There are chemicals added, therefore studies in France are highly inaccurate and thus should be regarded as misleading and reevaluated.

    The prohibition in the US was supported by the petroleum/petrochemical industry as you can make various materials/substances from hemp (plastic, fuel...they even made a lightweight car) so it was in their interest to make full prohibition to avoid any competition.

    I pray that one day the UK government finally sees sense and stops prohibition laws against weed if not all drugs. But Im realistic enough to know it isnt going to happen any time soon. Its gonna take at least until my parents generation leaves the voting pool. The brainwashing runs too deep and no political party wants to run the risk of upsetting the ignorant masses.

    • @staceykeeley4219
      @staceykeeley4219 Год назад +1

      Completely agree. But since when has our government ever seen sense!? It's all about votes, not sense. I think it was the Tories who brought in a professor to examine cannabis and it's effects on a scientific level then publish the results, but because the results were almost nothing but positive, they sacked him! Idiots.

    The question everybody needs to ask themselves is why this plant was prohibited in the first time? Start understanding the entire story and create your own criteria to decide whether is a drug or not. You should not trust something only bc you see it in a youtube documentary where the information might be mislead to benefit a few men

      In Québec i'd refer to the 2nd "cédule" of its Pharmacy Act printed under authority of the British Empire while Canada was still a dominion. It classified "Indian Hemp"/"Cannabis sativa L." on the « List des Poisons » besides arsenic and cyanure. This regime conforming to our founding Confédération of 1867 lasted 33+ years and culminated with the UNILATERAL TRANSFER OF AN EXCLUSIVE PROVINCIAL COMPÉTENCE performed by liberal senator Henri-Sévérin Béland, making it only natural for the « légaleezation » party to refer to Nixon instead... Etc, etc.
