I was going to until this. I'll let someone stream it to make sure all is well before I even consider a purchase instead of buying it on release like I was going to. Their community response is a major red flag. Granted, I think people were jumping the gun big time, but I understand the sentiment, and if Warhorse doesn't want to directly address the community's concerns that pretty much tells us everything we need to know. Meanwhile the usual suspects expect us to act like this is in a vacuum like we aren't supposed to have learned anything in the last decade.

Warhorse has nothing to do with the Steam stuff its the publishers. The rumor is bs as well there are people who have videos out there talking about the gameplay 10-50 hours on their own computers no unskipable scenes also if you played the first game you would also know there are two or three gay characters in the game including one of the main villains who is still a villain in this game. We have alot for people who havent done the basic level of research on any of this coming out making claims based on a rumour with no proof of anything and as far as "But Saudi Arabia" here is a short list of games they have banned in recent years.
Witcher games, Most of the Assassin Creed games, countless fighting games including some of the UFC games, Wolfenstein games, many of the Resident Evil games, One Piece games, Hitman games, Several GTAs and God of War games, several Final Fantasy games, DMC games, Dead Rising games and even Attack on Titan games.

@@dark_winter8238Vavra is litterally Under NDA and so are most Warhorse devs. Their community manager (good guy, not the Plaion one over at Steam) says he wishes they could address it directly. After the drama in 2018 there was a deal when Koch media (now Plaion) took over. Full creative freedom but you shut up in the English speaking world about controversial topics, including in the next game). Ironically this was to prevent another scandal. Now it’s hurting them.
Remember that the main bad guy in the first game game is gay. A scene involving that character may be....well gay. There also was brother lucas in the first game as well who was in the monestary for being gay. I doubt its going to be what people fear. They have been very carful about not releasing story details and I suspect this is along those lines and whoever speaks will get in trouble for it. If that is the case, then you either have to choose to end the controversy and spoil the main plot, or just let the reviews come out and let it die out. If its good and this is unfounded the reviews will, sort that out and I suspect that this is the case.
This has become such a repeated problem in the industry that I flat-out STOPPED playing new games. I've got my PS4, I've got my SNES, I'm good.

Dude I don't know where this idea came from that its Henry specifically. All we know is theres gay people in KCD2 and guess what there were gay people in KCD1, its obviously going to be a secondary character or two who are gay, because they obviously existed back in Medieval times, in fact I think having gay side characters would be interesting if they keep it true to history because then we have some interesting character conflicts.
My issue is we're drawing a lot of conclusions without evidence.
It seems the big detail is the Saudi ban, but the reasoning is can be more numerous than gays.

I personally don't see it as drawing conclusions unless people have already decided to not to buy the game because of the rumors. Which I'm sure some have already, but I think there's enough good will from the community to reserve judgment until the game is out, which is the sentiment I'm mostly seeing. KCD1 was banned in Saudi Arabia at release as well and KCD2 is a continuation of the 1:st game so the same plot and characters will bann KCD2 and there’s no woke agenda in the first game and there’s no in the second. Unless one of the main villains from the first game is dead the same gay issue will arise in Saudi Arabia second time around.

I can't really see Henry as being gay or Bi and that would really take me out of the experience even if it's optional, because as you know in a game like BG3, all romance options are optional, but every character you meet keeps simping over you, and well, that part isn't optional. If it was like this here, It just won't work for me personally.
BG3 is also based in a culture that is not influenced by Christianity, but KCD 2 is. I don't care much for LGTBQ representation in a fantasy setting unless the lore specifically forbids it, but this is Medieval Europe.

It's kinda a repeat like space marine 2. Before that game was released, there were a lot of issues regard to what is potential problem. But now, SM2 is a great throwback game. It means you can check if it's true or not.

Personally speaking, this whole thing has been blow way out of proportion. Everyone is banging on about the alleged "gay scenes" in the game and that's the reason why Saudi Arabia has banned the game. What people fail to understand is that SA is an authoritarian regime and will ban anything that it deems "harmful to public morals". They may claim its about gays in the game but KCD2 is at its heart an unashamedly Christian game and SA being a hardline muslim country doesnt like Christians or Christianity so that is another reason why they wont allow it. Secondly, its an organisation who own warhorse studios who has come up with the absurd "community guidelines" and this is something that warhorse studios has just had to accept. The director of the company has made it clear that the game isnt woke in any way and frankly we trust his word on that, if he is lying then warhorse studios will pay the price.
I wrote a large comment explaining this as well about it being against their religion, and that's more likely the reason it's banned there. My comment got deleted, so I'm leaving one here to see if your comment does as well.

SEVEN years have elapsed since the release of KCD1. And back then they were independant.

seriously, crap like romance options just goes to show how developers are caring less and less about just making good gameplay. Character customization is being taken way too far as well. These features are being talked about over gameplay and that's when you know something is truly wrong.

if henry is made gay then yes I will probably not buy it, Henry wasn't gay in KCD1. He had a girlfriend there was no option to choose a male at a bath house. Theresa and Bianca weren't men to change that just to push a narrative is just a huge red flag. It's a good thing they said there wont be any denuvo because I'm sailing the high seas with this one.
I feel similar. If they give him a gay option, I at least want to see if they do it well or appropriately, and can make it plausible within their story this far. They've earned the grace for that.
If they just hamfisted in a gay option to appeal to the leftists, then I must admit that they are betraying their historical intentions, and the fans of their janky first game.

I think people are overreacting. I have no issue with you being able to be gay in KCD2. Gay people existed back then. However, I hope they are realistic about it. It wasn't exactly a fun time being gay back then.

Okay... do you people realise that it doesn't necessarily have to be Hentry who is gay? Also if you played the first game you would know there actually were several gay characters, i think that the secon one will probably continue with something humorous as typical for this game. (For example the implied "gayness" could be Henry accidentally encountering some closeted gays and then deciding if he wants to keep their secret or if he tells others resulting in their "punishment",......or something similar to Lukáš lol.)

@@EdenMB-w3x Well, from what I saw going on, it seems that people have mainly problem with Henry specifically being gay (or bi). As I said in the comment above I doubt Henry will be the one invoved (and even if he was, i think it would be like some drunk escapade- or something similar to the Playing with the Devil quest from the KCDI). Mr. Vávra said it himself in the tweet - "Our goal was, and still is, to show life in medieval Bohemia as it easily could have happened and to tell an interesting story." From that I take it will be contextually and historically accurate (to the best of their abilities).

Old fart here. I was a huge gamer in my youth and completely cut it out when I built my life. KCD was the first real game I played in almost 20 years and I loved it, but this sounds sus. Gonna wait out your review before I buy that sequel.
