    Did a 72, 6 berth Supreme in 2020. I wish I had your videos then.
    You doing a great job.
    I had a better frame and base, so most of my work was interior and lots of painting.
    Cheers

    This was actually interesting, layback and entertaining enough to stay. I also call, you out as a Chippy as your timber work is very niice 🎉. Keep it up champ !! I’m also doing a tandem trailer roof top tent low cost build. So a Big thank you bloke🇦🇺👍🏽

    It's good that you used gloss as that is easy to clean.I think your work is of a very high standard. I am not a builder or carpenter but have renovated a couple of houses on my own and had to learn a lot, especially being a woman, and I can see you take good care to make sure everything looks good e.g. the trimming above the bed area. I love that T&G effect boarding you got from Bunnings. I am watching every video I can on caravan reno as plan to do this soon.

    This is an awesome video, thanks! My Viscount is so similar to yours, except with full wardrobe and front window removed to install aircon. Watching this inspired me to believe that I can restore this myself. Keen to give it a go! :)

    Awesome work, looking forward to watching through the series. I’ve started doing a ‘75 Ambassador. Love the shorty patrol too!

    Just stumbled across your video. Thank you so much for creating it! I’m looking into getting my own caravan and doing something similar

      Thanks Krystal, at least you'll know what problems to look out for when you inspect any vans for sale 😉😉

    I bought the same caravan and ripped the guts out and totally re-built it so I could put all new 240v and 12v systems including Diesel heating and air-con. Welded and installed new drawbar, re-built axile with larger load-bearing wheels and tires. It's a big job but satisfying but id buy shares in Bunnings.!

      EBay is your friend for consumables, Bunnings prices are extortionate 😂😂😂 Flap disc/strip disc at bunnings: $8 and $21. Ebay: $1.50 and $4. Anything plastic is the same

    My camper does not have Wheel Arches on or in the cladding (and yes makes it difficult to change the wheels) so I can easily extend the height of the van and use checkerplate surrounding a square base sitting on the trailer with a 6 inch by 8ft storage bay minus the wheel wells offcoarse, under the floor and access thru a rear hatch at the back outside of the trailer.... it will look very different and ODD and I am sure many people will rubber neck it as I drive down the hwy.... but for now its still a pipe dream.

    Where the cabinets were good I would not have painted. I would have kept the cabinet. The twin bed's have to see what you did to beds. I like the twins!

    One of the better restoration video I've been watching. Except you don't drink those beers out the door. Bit disappointing.

    Hey mate, just curious how much time it took you to renovate in total and how much did everything cost you

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  Год назад +2

      Probably around 600 hours at least and too many Bunnings trips to count, I'll go over the prices in future videos

    How do you put the walls up when the caravan has a curve?

    • @leighhills1
      @leighhills1  Год назад

      The wall frames are relatively flat but timber does flex if you put pressure on it

    • @karinabourne3465
      @karinabourne3465 Год назад

      My mums caravan had bad curves but reno it anyway the best I can. Watching your videos makes me want to do it again
