Great to see more manufactures are making these "Make Sense" All-Weather tires for most consumers that lives with all four seasons without the need & cost of buying 2nd set of tires, storage space & swapping out tires twice a year. Look forward for some real world tests on the RUclips in the near future.

Nokian has been making All-weather tires for around 20 years now, well before the All-weather trend became popular.

My WRG4s are great all year round in Canada. No need for dedicated in winter, summer only tires are for sports cars only. I'm getting these on my second car this spring.

A channel for fellow tire nerds. Cool! I have been using the WR for about 20 years. 4th or 5th set. First 2 or 3 on a crv and currently first set on a Crosstrek. They never last more than about 65k km. The prorated warranty has mostly come through for me. I am not hard on them, rotate them regularly and keep them properly inflated. I think that the compromises just don’t allow 100k. Granted, I don’t have first hand experience with other brands over a long period but I think tread wear warranties are marketing fluff. That said, I still think these are great tires. The winter safe tread depth is gone on mine now with a year or two of dry tread left. Kind of a bugger with winter coming. I think I will invest in a second winter set, maybe the Nordman North. Then maybe the Outpost when the WRs are done. Nokian seems like a decent brand.

Got a brand new hybrid SUV 2 wks ago and was debating this remedy wrg5 or the Outpost APT…both all weathers but with the added all terrain ability of the Outpost APT plus the semi rugged design of the tires and deeper treads (13/32 vs 10/32) I got the Outpost fitted instead. So far happy with them!

I've had WRG-2, WRG-3 & WRG-4. The WRG-4 is getting noisier and noisier--to the point I think it sounds like I have a wheel bearing problem, even changed one wheel bearing, that was not it--it was the tire. I liked WRG-2 best.

You don't mention the 3 peak mountain snowflake does not make an all weather tire, an all weather tire has adaptive rubber compound which makes it softer in cold weather compared to an all season tire, that said the Nokian WRG4 and WRG5 is an all weather tire. Other tires in the category are the Michelin crossclimate 2, Goodyear weatheready, also Toyo, Bridgestone and Firestone have an all weather tire

Each tire you just mentioned has the 3PMSF symbol all weather rating on the sidewall.

These are great tires for those people who get the occasional snowstorm in the winter months. But if your lawn is covered by snow for more than 1 month in the winter, then it's probably best to get a set of dedicated winter tires on separate steel rims instead.

The wrg4 nokians outperformed many winter tires in a test I saw. I've had them on my cars in Minnesota and they were fantastic in the snow.

So basically its the best all weather tire. Everyone knows dedicated winters are best and the pothole warranty is a bonus. I would like to see them head to head with the Cross Climate 2's but Ill uave to make a choice before rhat happens im sure.

I just replaced my WR G4's for dry rot cracking of sidewall and tread not with the WR G5 but with the Michelin Cross Climate 2's. Nokian dealer told me I was SOL, 6 year mfg date, 5 year use, 30K miles. Can't risk buying Nokian again. Plus dealer said would give me 20% off but jacked up the price per tire to over $250 each, more expensive than tire being sold elsewhere and more expensive than even the Michelin CC2.

I hate the 3Peak Mountain Snowflake. It’s rather misleading. It’s just an acceleration test on moderately packed snow. That’s it. Doesn’t include a benchmark for braking, doesn’t include a benchmark for compact snow/ice, doesn’t include a benchmark for handling. Just a simple acceleration test. In my opinion it needs to be updated so a more rigorous standard.

Nokian specializes in winter tires and currently the WR10 studded is by far the best studded tire on the market I guess if you've owned every type of Nokian you must have owned over a hundred by now. they have been in North America since the 70's
