I have a 2020 CRV and have recently bought the CC2. After about 5000 miles they are some of my favorite tires I have ever owned. I live in South Carolina and we don’t get much snow but driving in the rain and in dry weather, they are smooth and quiet. So far I love them.
2018 Accord sport 2.0 Turbo. I have 60k miles on the Cross Climate 2's. Winter is coming and I get snow here. Will be getting another set. I still have tread but its almost time.
Thanks for sharing. Crossclimate 2 is still a nice choice overall, I’d say, though keep your eye out for new tires coming now including weatherready 2 and Pirelli sf3.
At 21k it was nearing time for new tires on my BMW i4 EV. Tire Rack had a package so i downsized from 19" staggered wheels and I ordered square 18" wheels with the Michelin CrossClimate2: 245/45- 18. The camber was set neutral for the tires, not aggressively as per BMW. 600 miles in, and the car rides fine. If I were to lose a few hundredths in speed at the track, I don't notice it in daily driving. I don't notice a difference in noise notwithstanding the aggressive tread. What i did notice is that the tires are a bit stiffer despite the larger sidewall. Weather has been cold for the northeast. Very pleased overall. Hoping to get 50k out of the tires with periodic rotation.
Ordered Michelin CrossClimate2 for my 2017 RX350 F-Sport 3. I have the Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive. which have some of the issues that the Continental tires. Very heavy tires and very sloppy. The sidewalls flex a lot so I am really hoping Michelin will do its magic as I have never had a bad experience with a Michelin tire.
We have taken this variable into account. Both tires have thermally adaptive rubber compounds by the way... so the results pretty much remain the same.
I'm curious how do you get to these conclusion about these two tires? Do you have any data related to the wet braking or stability? Any data for snow traction or braking, or on dry? Or all of these, are just personal / subjective impressions?
Smoothest, quietest, comfort, and overall performance is great on the CC2. I have a video of that tire and I highly highly recommend it. Excellent on all surfaces including snow.
Great review comparing these two tires! Thank you! I need to buy tires for 2015 subaru outback. I live In a place that Has snow December through early March but is plowed well. There is rain March, April and August. And is very hot in late June July, August, and sime of December. From what you said it seems like the Mitchell would be the better tire overall. Are there any others that might be a good choice? If you were to choose from the mitcheland continental you reviewed which would you choose for an outback?
Thank you. These are grand touring tires, you need those in suv touring category. And considering that, I would suggest you check out Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive (not Cinturato) and Continental Crosscontact LX.
The Michelin CrossClimate 2 tends to perform better in summer conditions due to its superior dry traction capabilities (in particular). Plus its rubber is also more thermally adaptive.
Hi! Thank you for your detailed presentation of the all season tires of Michelin and Continental. They are both in the same price category, at least in Western Europe. My tire shop also suggested the Goodyear Vector 4seasons Gen 3, which is somewhat more expensive and the cheaper Uniroyal All Season Expert 2. Can I have your opinion regarding this offer, please. Thank you in advance.
I just put CC2s on my XT5, and the Gas Mileage when in to the Toilet. I will be returning them to Costco for a Refund and going back to the Premier LTX
@@comparethetire The Fuel Consumption is 30-35% higher than that of the Premier LTXs. They do not seem any better in Snow than the Severely worn Old LTXs, and are a bit Squirrelly when trying to drive straight. Actually a Piss Poor Tire
Thanks for the feedback! AllSeasonContact 2 isn’t available in the USA yet, but I can help you find a good alternative. What vehicle do you drive, and what kind of weather do you usually face?
@@comparethetire I drive a Tesla model Y in New England. The CrossClimate 2 is tempting, but I hear that the tire is narrower than the rim. The Tesla already is too prone to curb rash, and this would make it worse, I think. I am also concerned about road noise from the thick tread blocks. The tread pattern on the Continental looks like it would be less noisy than the Michelin. I have watched about 20 tire videos, between youtube and TireRack. The other tires I was considering include Vredestein Quatrac Pro and the newer Hankook EV tires. I would prefer to avoid swapping tires in the spring and fall. I am retired, so if weather is really bad, I can stay home and wait it out. Any advice would be appreciated.
I think Quatrac Pro is a great choice. Plus have you watched my best all season/ weather tires' video? It would really help you out. Do check it out. Let me know if you still need my help. I'm here.
@@ralstm1 I recently purchased a set of CC2. I am really surprised at how quiet the tires are. Your experience may vary of course, but I dont consider noise to be a problem at all, in fact the quietness is a strong point.
@@edsmith9855 Thanks for the feedback. Do you mind filling me in on your location and what vehicle? I need tires for my Tesla Model Y, now. I use them on my gruck, already

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the CC2s so far!
Continental on the front of my car, even when they had worn I still experienced fantastic grip with them in the wet. Unbelievable tyre.
Yes they wear well when it comes to wet traction, one of the best things I like about them.
Following your comparison, I have chosen the Continental for my bmw x3.
Thanks again ! Brgds.
Glad to help! Enjoy the wet traction of these tires.

Got the CC2 for my 2021 Palisade. Has a quiet, smooth ride but lost 2-3 mpg. Never figured tires could have such a major impact on gas mileage.
Did you keep the width of the tire same?
@ yes, exactly the same as the OEM Bridgestone tires.
I wanted to buy Michelin again but had great deal for Continental. So will see.
👍
European Tire manufacturers are just outstandingly good...!👍

No mention of dry low temperature (7c and below) breaking distances which is the most common driving condition in Northern climates.

So which is better and which you recommend for a 2022 BMW X5 Help.
Get Weatherready 2 if you can
But out of these two get Continental
We would be publishing Weatherready 2s video on Monday btw
I'm hoping the CCv3 improves wet performance.
If you’re looking for wet grip, you should consider Weatherready 2, Pirelli sf3 and Qutrac pro
I'm curious how do you get to these conclusion about these two tires? Do you have any data related to the wet braking or stability? Any data for snow traction or braking, or on dry? Or all of these, are just personal / subjective impressions?
No only noise and comfort is subjective.
The steering responsiveness is judged through slalom tests, while overall handling through lap times.
The reduced hum is a serious advantage at least from my point of view.
Then you should check out the Pirelli SF2, its the quietest all weather tire (outta all we've reviewed so far).
@@comparethetire thanks a lot. I will definitely consider it!

@comparethetire do you have a video comparing Michelin CC2 to those Pirellis?
Is the cross climate also made for trucks
Not really… but you can consider Crossclimate 2 SUV tires, maybe those are what you’re looking for
How 'bout add the DWS 06 to the comparison?
Its actually an ultra high performace AS tire, so its better to compare it with others in its category, like the Michelin Pilot All Season 4.

Hello and thanks for video. Which of them has the most summer feeling behaviour?
The Michelin CrossClimate 2 tends to perform better in summer conditions due to its superior dry traction capabilities (in particular). Plus its rubber is also more thermally adaptive.
We need the data: car, tyre size, distances or times.
Its complicated, as these are the averaged results on testing out 5 most popular sizes out there.

Well Vector is vert expensive, sure, but it is for a reason, the Uniroyal can't give as much traction as them especially on wet roads.
Come on Continental make this tire in 235/55/20, it’s a pretty normal size, let’s go! My Lexus RX needs these tires
they dont have them in 235/55/18 also, sooooo sad
They would be bringing in more sizes, I'm sure.

So if you brake really hard on the Michelins, the guy behind you, on the Contis, won’t be able to stop as quickly and boom!
Thats one way to put it 😀
Fabulous review I’m still undecided seeking the best all season tire for my 2019 Nissan Armada has been a chore, do you have any recommendations?
Yes check out the best all season tires video on my channel.
I had Cross Climates. They didn't seal to the rim properly, and were no better than the 'cheap Michelin' Kleiber Quadraxxer 2s that they replaced.
Try pirelli sf2 (not 3)
