Hi from the UK.I've had the CC2 on my AWD Suzuki Vitara. They have performed well with grip and braking on wet, flooded roads,ice,powder/compacted snow, dry - 1000miles so far. No slippage or wheel spin. 5% hit on the fuel economy but worth it.I wanted a tyre that would cope with the constant mix/change of weather. Lives up to reputation from all the other videos I've watched
So sick of having 2 sets of tires and swapping. Both my sets are done and I literally can’t afford 8 new tires. Thanks for this video. I’m getting some cross climate 2s and being done with it all. Perfect. Too many videos out there were showing snow but not ice.
Finally an ice video, thanks for that FYI: Consumer reports gives these tires 5 stars for snow and ice And rate them a low rolling resistance tire that will last 95,000 miles according to there wear testing Also, dedicated winter tires take extremely long to stop all winter long on dry and wet clear roads And these do just as good on snow as a dedicated winter tires from various sources on the internet So, for the few times a winter that you get this type of ice, it is not worth it to put snow tires on that take a extra 50 to 70 feet to stop all winter long on dry and wet clear roads Just to stop a little shorter on ice a few times a winter, if that As you would still have to drive very cautiously with dedicated snow tires anyway

Thanks for the test! Just got them on my accord. Switched the stock and practically summer tire all seasons for these. Now just gotta wait for some real snow to hit MN this year
Great test, thanks. I’ve recently bought 1 set of CC2 s for my wife’s car and after watching your video, now I feel more confident. Maybe I should also consider buying another set for my car.
Thanks for the video. This is one of the videos that we viewed that got us to order some CC2 for our Passport from costco! Should be on car soon. Colorado.
Great video showing the attributes of these CC2s on ice. A couple quick questions for you now that you've had them on for at least 10 months. Have you noticed a dip in fuel economy from what you had before and how are they wearing? We were up in Madison Wi. a month ago visiting our granddaughter & I noticed her tires were nearly worn out on her Hyundai Sonata. We took her to Costco in Prairie City & put a set of CC2s on for her. Hoping these get her around safely this winter and wear long enough to get her through a couple more years with this car. Thanks again for posting the vid!
You're doing stuff "you should never do" (safely, not trying to dog the video), and that tire just keeps bailing you out. I am impressed! I had a set of LX25's that I drove in similar conditions, and it wasn't quite as good as that. I'm slapping some CC2's on my car as soon as I get it (had them before, just never drove on ice with them)
Now that I saw this video, I thought I'd try these in the coming winter. We have the same conditions here as you have there in winter 🇫🇮. Awesome video😎👍🏻
I have Goodyear 4Season gen 3 on my 2006 Outback and had the chance recently to try them on packed snow and ice at minus 10C. I was really impressed with the level of grip. Seem like all season tyres are really coming of age now. It's not going to stop me carrying snow chains, shovels, blankets, hivis or provisions because I'm a pessimist.
Thanks, this is what I wanted to see. Generally I don’t run into much snow or ice, but when I do it’s in the middle of nowhere. Can’t justify having another set of wheels with snow tires or running snow tires all year, but don’t want to get caught with tires that can’t handle some thing like this if I’m taking a trip to places with these conditions. Seems like having these tires with x mode on my outback will be more than enough reassurance for bad conditions and they’ll still be great for the remaining 95% of the time in dry or rain.
I'm so glad I stumbled across this video! Home roads! You ever go up to ski at any of the local hills (i.e. Silver, Mt. Spokane, Schweitzer) on these tires?
Lol I'm also in the Spokane area and was looking for some tires for winter since I just got a new subaru. This last winter was pretty harsh and those Crossclimate look reliable!
Thanks! I have had mine for about a month now, and have not had any snow or ice yet. These are on my Forester XT. Previously, with all-season tires, I've done fine in snow (probably run in 10-12") but have not had the glare ice you tested on. So, very useful to see how these do on that bare ice. Short of deep snow where ground clearance issues kick in, I think this kind of ice is about the worst on-road driving condition most of us could encounter. I once hit a quick thaw after about a foot of snow, and was essentially driving through standing slush, and that was really dicey too, but that was long ago with front-wheel drive only. The tricky part with ice can be when it is patchy. Stay safe out there. I hope more people start chucking their studded tires in lieu of these kinds of tires.
Hey! That's Spokane!! Amazon is down the street from there! I almost bought those tires, I went with the Michelin LTX M/S our roads suck sometimes in Spokane, But thanks for the info vid!

yes, every since i bought these tires, I haven't had a need to change out to my winter tires anymore. Well worth the investment. Now I need to sell my other tire/wheel set.
I knew those round abouts looked familiar. Then I saw the bus go by and the Spokane air port sign and was like yeeeep. We've had a busy winter this time around when it comes to snow.
They're great tires for sure but the harder compounds used make them less grippy on the ice. The tread pattern makes them good in snow. So the compromise with the tire is year long use with a trade off of ICE grip. Think of these tires as All Seasons with better snow traction not so much ice. Just know what you have and drive within the level of grip you have.

I have original cross climates on and they’ve been awesome. I heard the CC2 compound traded some wet braking for snow handling. Wonder if it’s really a notable diff. Original CC’s were best wet braking tire at the time. How’s CC2 in the rain? Going to definitely get some CC’s or CC2’s on my wife’s car. Just not sure which ones.
@@Gadgeteverything I’ve seen some tests and reviews that showed where they traded off wet braking for snow handling. I just wonder if it’s a negligible difference or if it feels significant.
@@Gadgeteverything I hit send too fast. Meant to add that I’ve driven through Tahoe with tons of snow/ice on the ground and the original CC’s are awesome on the snow. They perform better than other brands’ winter tires. But I didn’t test them in deep snow where a winter tire like the Michelin IceX would be best.
@@Gadgeteverything have not had them on snow or ice yet. I do notice they have a little more road noise compared to my regular all season general rt43 I had on my car. But more concerned about snow and ice performance.
I got a set of these on my 21 Mustang Mach-E 4X that I run year round. I take a slight hit in terms of range with higher rolling resistance when compared to the standard "EV" all season tires, but it's a night and day difference in the level of grip and confidence you get in all weather. Honestly I don't know how they do it, but in rain my stock tires would allow me to get silly and slide around turns with the torque you get from an EV, but with the CrossClimate 2 it hooks up extremely well in dry, wet and in snow. The only place where you might get into trouble is with slick ice, and at nearly 5000 pounds I definitely give myself plenty of room to stop, but that's not a fault if the tires, that's just physics and the stock all seasons would have no chance at a controlled stop in comparison to these CrossClimate 2 tires!
Nice to hear your feedback! I’m thinking about putting these on my Tesla Model Y Performance. You’re absolutely correct about the torque and efficiency. I have a different set of wheels (summer/winter).
I'm slapping a set on an EV6. I suspect it will still spin them, and am worried about traction in the dry, as it will spin the OEM max performance summer tires even on hot drag strip, but still! How much of a range hit did you take ?
@@UnobtaniumsQuickReviews I would say less than 5% hit on range, and allot of that could be mitigated by inflating to a slightly higher PSI than recommended on door jam. For the mach-e they recommend 39 PSI, and I inflate to 41 PSI which greatly improves efficiency. I've had them on for over about a year and have not noticed any unusual wear from higher PSI either.
@@joecmarques I looked at tirerack, and now they removed CC2 from tires that fit my car, so Pilot Sport All Season 4's are what it will be, I think. Odd, that. It used to be listed, but I presume that they stopped because they are only V rated, and my car needs ZR, W, or Y rated tires.
You mentioned you got it at Costco. I am debating, should I buy it at Costco or Bjs? Its almost the same price. However, who to think has the better warranty? Thank you for the video.
Your Subaru will not make these any better on ice. You will still slide through a red light like any other FWD vehicle. These are all seasons with some improved snow/slush capabilities. Remember the powertrain helps you go, not stop.
When you don’t even know the name of the tires you bought. Not the best winter tire, but good enough for people that refuse to use the best for conditions (full winter tire).
I have a set of Bridgestone blizzaks too. I wanted to see how this all weather tires would fair on ice. Overall, I thought they did really good. Thanks for watching!
Typical uneducated response. As George pointed out the CC is better than many winter tires. More importantly, unless you have a top rated winter tire AND you have more snow days than wet/dry, a winter tire is a dumb decision because you are sacrificing wet and dry braking - by a huge margin.
@@ipcamtalk4314 That is a valid point with running pure winter tires in the cold rainy climates. I run a regular All Season Defender tire for 10months or so out of the year and on the first forecast of snow/icy I switch over to the blizzak DMV2. When the weather is at its worst I want the best grip possible. When weather is typical cold dry/wet I have enough grip for daily driving as I'm not going for lap times. So I agree with you but I prioritize max traction on the icy/snowy days not the mild winter days. I have considered the cross climate 2 but I feel it would be too similar to a regular All Season. Would be nice to get the longevity out of them and I would run them longer per year then my Blizzaks.
I have these tires on my FK7. They are OK but not great in rainy weather. Unfortunately I've lost traction a few times in the rain on the same turn with these tires that my previous, much cheaper, Hankook tires never had a problem with. Also, tread wear is fast and they are very noisy.
I don't know who pays these people but the tires suck on the ice and ice under snow. They break away quickly and cannot compare to the Bridgestone Blizzak. I Uber in Northwest Montana so I drive all winter conditions here. They perform no better than an all season tire, really disappointed.
Looks useless honestly. Get real Winter tyres like hakkapelitta 10, R5 or Continental viking contact 7 if your health is something high valued for you.
"looks useless", just depends where you live honestly, studded tires are illegal in some provinces/states here in North America. I drive for a living, and I can tell you all-weather tires are amazing on snow and ice lol. Some all-weather tires even outperforms budget winter tires, and that's factual.
Silly comment. I've had winter tires, winter rated all terrains, and these. These were about 99% as good as Hakkapelitas. Especially when we get maybe 25 inches a year of snow and mostly ice.
Really appreciating you testing and showing the capability of this tire.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was hard to find good videos on it. I’m looking forward to some snow! Then I’ll make another video if you want?

I have original cross climates on and they’ve been awesome. I heard the CC2 compound traded some wet braking for snow handling. Wonder if it’s really a notable diff. Original CC’s were best wet braking tire at the time. How’s CC2 in the rain? Going to definitely get some CC’s or CC2’s on my wife’s car. Just not sure which ones.
I heard the cc2 are a better tire overall. If you have snow in your area, I’d buy the cc2
@@Jonjones520 honestly it drives very good in the rain too! I haven’t hydroplaned yet. Check out my other video
Hi. is it true that these CC2 tires attract alot of screws, nails, rocks into the treads? More flats? Thanks.
Not that I’ve noticed. Been driving it everywhere
I just bought Firestone weather grip. Hope those are as good as these on ice. I imagine after they wear below 50% they won't perform as well.
These are suppose to grip as they wear down.
How you liking the Firestone?
@@Gadgeteverything have not had them on snow or ice yet. I do notice they have a little more road noise compared to my regular all season general rt43 I had on my car. But more concerned about snow and ice performance.
@@pgrut8880 I agree, I care more about snow & ice traction
don't know if climate 2 is good for icy hills, or hilly country?
How are these tires doing regarding consumption on winter, summer etc?
Consumption has been similar to the old tires. I was surprise with the added grip that it didn’t consumed more
@@Gadgeteverything Oh, thats great! Thanks ☺
We only have a Costco around here. I would see who has more stores and buy it from them (warranty)
much appreciated.
You’re welcome! Let me know if you want to see any other test
If those tires are that good i wonder how their x-ice tires would compare
I’m assuming better but these tires don’t need to be swapped out at the end of the season.
I actually just got a set of the winter x michelin tires . Im actually kind of shocked at how good your tires gripped . Cool stuff@@Gadgeteverything
Thx! 🎉
Thx for watching!
Nice Vid! How new are your tires and what tread depth and psi?
We bought it 3 months and Costco filled it with nitrogen. I’m assuming it’s the recommended psi from the factory.
What was the temperature during the test?
It was around 20 degrees (-6.7C)
Cross Climate 2 tires on a Subaru all wheel drive on ice is even better !
FUCK YES. LOVE EM ON MY OUTBACK! OH... SO NICE.
@@jt.8144 Yes Sir They are great and a Subaru with them is peace of mind while driving !
I bet!

I guess that depends on which "Best Winter Tire" you are comparing with: ruclips.net/video/8K8ThRGNaoM/видео.html
I have a set of Bridgestone blizzaks too. I wanted to see how this all weather tires would fair on ice.
Overall, I thought they did really good. Thanks for watching!
@@Jeo-What I think it’s the best overall tires.
Sorry to hear, it’s been great for us.
I don't know who pays these people but the tires suck on the ice and ice under snow. They break away quickly and cannot compare to the Bridgestone Blizzak. I Uber in Northwest Montana so I drive all winter conditions here. They perform no better than an all season tire, really disappointed.
Thx for watching the best overall all weather tires!
Who the hell is gonna go 30 40 on ice. Lol
Too bad you don't know the name of your tires.
thx for watching!
This tyre is not for ice or snow.
Looks useless honestly. Get real Winter tyres like hakkapelitta 10, R5 or Continental viking contact 7 if your health is something high valued for you.
I have a set of Bridgestone Blizzak. I wanted to test a year round tire. Thx for watching!
