Stunning video! How long would you say it took from leaving and getting back to the car park . Thinking of wild camping half way and then finishing off the rest of the hike next day.

    WOW! STUNNING!
Thank you SO much for making, and sharing, such an amazing video of such an amazing mountain.
I have driven to North Wales, and back home to Swansea, a few times over the years -
using the two Cadair Idris roads -
    and the scenery is outstanding…
But nothing like what I’ve just experienced by watching your video.
    Thank you… DIOLCH.

What an amazing day you got in Feb to do this hike! This is very much on our list for this year as we've never tackled it in our many adventures in Snowdonia. thanks for the further inspiration!

Thanks for that, great footage. I can’t wait to do this.

    Such all round quality Alex....thanks.
Very impressed that you addressed the realities of scaling Tryfan and that it is no walk in the park, where things can and do go wrong, mostly for the unprepared/inexperienced without sound navigation/route finding skills. It's not the location of Ogwen Mountain Rescue teams most call-outs for no reason.

Great vlog 👍.. we're both 64 ,still active hill walking, although I said I'm done with the bigger stuff after the Glyders did me knees in (you'll find out in years to come 😂) Cadair Idris still beckons though.. which route down did you take as you seem to have avoided the skree .. thanks in advance

I know that memory taints with age, but I remember a hike up the Devil's Kitchen along the Ridge down past a quarry to Bethesda. Now you are talking years ago, Alex, but that hike to me was fantastic, and I remember it like yesterday. Perhaps one for a later, longer hike for you. As for this vlog, it is absolutely outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing.

Another great video Alex, but a bit of a slog on that first bit. Always thought that if we had four legs like dogs it would be so much easier. 😀 Fabulous views!

Thank you Peter! Yes that first section is pretty brutal but definitely worth it for the views you get once it’s done! Dogs make it look far too easy 😅

I’m allowed out to do a wild camp.
I have not done anything high before and don’t want to over do it.
    Can I ask
How long did it take to get to the lake ?
Is it easy to navigate im now expert.
We’re would you wild camp at the lake or higher up ?
    Thanks very much

Enjoyed both this and the Tryfan uploads mate. Gonna have to give them both a go. What's it like for parking on a weekend?

    • @alexcripps.outdoors
      @alexcripps.outdoors  Год назад +1

Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed them 😁 parking at Cadair Idris seemed pretty good considering it was a Sunday can imagine it being busier in the coming months. Ogwen Valley for Tryfan gets very busy on the weekend especially when the weather is good!
