Totally brilliant Alex! I am hoping to do that route in the New Year. Did it a few years ago now, so trusting I still can even in my 70’s! I will take great care of course. I love that you always give good cautious advice to anyone trying your routes. So many people go out totally unprepared. I see you were wearing your Rab Kinetic jacket. I bought the slightly heavier hiking version and love it. I was hiking in the recent snow and found that with just a fleece underneath I was warm as toast and stayed completely dry.
Thank you so much Peter! It’s a fantastic route isn’t it, sounds like you’re out in the hills more than me Peter so it’ll be a walk in the park for you 😊. Fantastic news that you like the Kinetic! I’ve worn it so much since purchasing it, so breathable yet very waterproof, amazing piece of kit! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and New Year Peter and enjoy your walk up Kinder. Hopefully one day we’ll cross paths up on the hills 😊👍
Thank you very much! Thanks for the feedback on the time lapse, glad you enjoyed it, I’m planning on using it in future videos especially for the classic Peak District routes! Cheers 👍😊
This reminds me of when we went on walking holidays as a family when I was little. I always remember kinder scout being breathtaking. (Although I probably didn't use that work as a kid!)
Great footage and route descriptions. Used this path myself many times on wildcamps. You're right - the Kinder plateau never loses it's magic. Great stuff 👍🥾
Completed the exact same route yesterday in sunny weather and just stumbled on this video. Brilliantly done, thank you. Wasn’t expecting the mini scramble up Grindsbrook Clough, very rewarding to get to the top. The Kinder plateau gave some fab views over the valley luckily I had a better day for it.! And yes I was cursing the ascent again after getting down Jacobs Ladder, thought I was done! Now subscribed!
Great video. I did this route a month ago but managed to get lost on Kinder plateau. Your videos gave me the courage to do solo hikes in the peaks. Keep up the good content 😊
Thank you Jack! It’s easy to get a little lost up there isn’t it! Hope you managed to find your way back on to the path quickly 😆. That’s awesome, so glad to hear you’ve been getting out on some solo hikes! Cheers Jack 👍😊
Great video Alex, I love the Peak District, I still have tons of places to explore, nice music fitted well with the footage, Timelapse made me spin a little lol I really enjoy your channel mate, atb Pete 👍🤘
Thank you Pete, appreciate it! So many places I’ve yet to explore. Haha yes it’s not for everyone, think I’ll use it a little less in the next one! Cheers 😊👍
Hi Alex. I enjoyed that a lot. One of my first Kinder walks many years ago and I still love it. Kinder is so vast, there are still some Cloughs on the Northern side I have not scrambled yet. And whilst I have traversed the plateau itself I wouldn’t mind exploring it a bit more in really dry weather! Really liked the time lapse, I thought it worked very well. What a place. Looking forward to you doing a snow walk up there this winter 👍😄
Thank you Greg!! It’s a beautiful route isn’t it! I think there needs to be a Kinder Clough challenge, see how long it can take to do them all in one go! Yes the plateau has so many areas that very few people have explored, I still haven’t been to the true summit so that is on my list for the summer… once the bog has dried out 😂. Thank you Greg! 👍😊
@@alexcripps.outdoors I would love to try and explore all the Cloughs but it’ll definitely need a wild camp for a night or two up there! Nether Red Brook scramble is on my list next…. Last time I was up I did Crowden Clough again with a strained knee which was “interesting” but made it. Still got to try the middle route on the largest waterfall yet there and the chimney at the top of Crowden Head.
@alexcripps.outdoors hi Alex. Did I hear that there are three points on Kinder that were thought to be the highest? I'm on The Ethel Challenge and I'm sure that when Dan Cunningham finished his there were three loints he bagged just to make sure.
Just did the route up Grindsbrook Clough today, amazingly good fun. I was lucky it was very dry. Thought it was going to be tougher, but in honesty it was just an enjoyable level of toughness for a novice with loads of route choices. Views for days as the sun blessed me with its presence!
Great video Alex! The peaks is truly a beautiful place all year round :) I love setting off early, not seeing anyone for hours and just thinking about things whilst embracing the amazing surroundings. keep up the great work and have a lovely Christmas & New Year! :) Max
Cheers Max! It really is and I agree, hard to beat a good solo hike when you have the hills to yourself! Have a great Christmas and New Year also mate, thanks again! 👍
Your videos are stunning Alex. I like you absolutely love the Peak District and never tire of finding new walks and places to explore. Would love to see you walk a little further afield say maybe The Sandstone Trail between Frodsham and Whitchurch or the Gritstone Trail between Lyme Park and Kidsgrove. Have a great Christmas.
Another great vlog as always Alex. I, like others, loved the sped up route. Just gives the vlog that extra edge. Not thar it needs it. I'm still yet to do Kinder. In snowy weather, do you have microspikes? If so, which brand do you recommend? Thanks again for another fantastic vlog Alex.
Thank you very much Chris! Glad you liked the slightly different video. Yes I have a pair of Grivel microspikes and they are absolutely fantastic! Cheers Chris, appreciate it! 😊

Ah, this is my favourite walk in the Peaks! So nice to see it through someone else’s eyes.
Thank you! It’s beautiful isn’t it 😊
Great video Alex - really like the time lapse showing the route. Useful if walking there for the first time as things will look familiar 👍

Ciao Alex, such a beautiful place to hike. Thanks for taking us along
Thank you so much! 😊
I was lost today in these areas and had to return from the same path we started.. thanks for video. We will give one more attempt next month.
My first time up Grindsbrook clough will be Saturday, can't wait.
Beautiful video, loved the music and commentary, wonderful 🤠
Thank you so much Sarah! 😊

Kinder is mean but always rewarding… nice video Alex 👍

Its also one of my favourite routes to do. Specially in winter when the water falls are frozen. You just need to have the right kit

@@alexcripps.outdoors Thank you Alex! Do you do much fell running?
Oh man this looks freaking gorgeous. Shots are so nicely composed and executed. Love this piece, 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much! 😊
Another stunning video!! Did this walk on Sunday for the first time and absolutely loved it!!! Just subscribed as I'm loving your content ❤
Great work Alex
Thank you very much! 👍😊
Stumbled across your video having done exactly this walk today. It's a super summary, thanks!

Thank you very much! I’ve got some big plans to explore further afield this year 😁
Another great video Alex 👍 It’s been a long time since I’ve done Kinder, might try this route at some point. Cheers
Thank you very much 😊 it’s an awesome route, highly recommend it 👍
Que suerte vivir en zonas tan bonitas y húmedas! Aquí el ambiente es más seco.

@alexcripps.outdoors thanks for the info Alex. Appreciate it.
My favourite route up, can offer speculator scenery in the right light.
Yes the views are usually stunning! It was very foggy so the views were none existent on this day, still love it up there regardless of the weather 😊
Went up that route yoday its tought for a 60 year old like me but took my time
Wow beautiful video and I really enjoyed watching it. New subscriber here from #RTBL
Thank you very much! 😁👍
Quite lovely! I can see why in 1932 people fought for the right to walk there.
