So who else noticed that they are working on a jk and not a jl or a jt in this video?

      Yes! What’s with that?

The install is essentially the same for both the jk,jl,&jt. I’m sure that’s why. 🤷

There is some overlap in 2018 between the jk and jl. My guess is the kit is made for the updated 3.6 and 2018 JKs may use the same engine. Either that or it just flat out works for 3.6 in general

Try growing up in the 90’s. Our corvettes only had about 285 to 300 hp. The Gladiator’s 285hp is not really too bad, but I’m planning on supercharging mine too!

The area where you guys are having people relocate the Purge valve is not good. Most if not all of us are experiencing a loud tapping noise almost like a Woodpecker is tapping on the firewall. The fix is to completely relocate that valve to an area by the ECU so its away from the Firewall area. This valve is loud to begin with and is why FCA buries it underneath the engine shroud by the injectors. I have pictures of where mine was relocated and that took car of the problem. I did forward them to the people at Magnuson. Other than that this kit is the bomb!

For any on this thread who has done a supercharger on their Gladiator… Should I pull the trigger on a super charger or hold off and save for the Hemi swap? Basically, was it worth it? Did you gain substantial power for cost? And did you do so without ultimately ruining your engine?

    • @jesusjuice7592

Hemi swap is 3x the price. You gain 59% more WHP. If you "Ruin your engine" You're an idiot

I run a Procharger on my 2011 JKU that I took from a 2020 Gladiator. The guy had 4k miles on the Procharger but was trading the truck in. I bought the kit from him and built it to custom fit my 3.8 engine. Build is actually on my channel on my Wrangler Mods playlist. Runs like a dream. Installed it at 190k on the engine and now I've got 254k on the engine, and it runs better than when I got it stock!

  • @rockdwg

so would this be ok to put on a 2018 JL with about 50K miles on it or is it better to do something like this with alot lower miles??

    • @budbrown6694

That should be fine, but this is not a jl. Find the one for yours and set it up right
Also, do a full time and fluid flush when you do it.

@@bmac6721 after 2016 engine now features two-stage variable valve lift (VVL), a cooled EGR, a new intake manifold, new fuel injectors, and new ignition coils. It also features upgrades to the variable valve timing (VVT) system, an increased compression ratio (11.3:1), lower internal friction and lower weight. These improvements help to increase power as well as efficiency.
But in the JL even the oil pan is different. They reduced weight, and re-routed things, the intake is different, not just the plastic cover.
There are a lot of differences that don't change the "core" of the engine, the HP and Torque are higher, the lifters are different. The computer is WAY different. Lots of little things that add up.

Yo, this is not a JL your working on...

  • @budbrown6694
    @budbrown6694 2 года назад +3

You are so detailed in your work and it shouldn't be overlooked at all. Its upsetting because you made little mistakes upfront that can mess up a lot. The major problem is that your title says JL/JT, and based on that the part number you gave either is right for a JK/JKU a not for a JL/JT or you gave the right partnumber and did a video on something totally different. that's a JK (2011-18) not a JL or JT (2018-present). Different platforms, major and minor differences. The Schrader valve on the fuel rail works to release pressure from fuel rail. Without the risk of backfire, and knocking. Why the hell are you re-using gaskets? Never do that... never...they stretch, and adapt to heat. New gaskets and seals are less than 200. Do it right or don't do it. What are you not checking torque values? You're adding forced induction... and no thread locker either... one or the other at least, yeah I know that you don't have to use thread locker and sure you may have the bolts tight enough? But overtightening is a thing, bolt stretch in a forced induction setup can cause failures. The places you needed antiseize didn't get attention either. Then at the end you wiggled the lid on the wet RTV... but there you finally mention torque...and then follow it up with lock tight on hex inset bolts and pulley bolts, why not in the places you didn't torque?
    Nit picks:
Those aren't fog lights... they are blinkers. Jeep fog lights are all in/on bumper
Why wouldn't you delete the evap system if your plugging the port on the super charger?
Did you check that your vacuum booster can hold the increased vacuum? Sucks when those pop.
Straight up you did a good job, and the jeep will likely run without issue for a long while. The problem is that when it has one problem associated with this work, all of those become extra work that will need to be done in a cascade effect.

I run a 2011 JKU with the 3.8 engine. My engine looks nothing like his. I added a Procharger on mine (videos on my channel), and our engines aren't the same. If this is a JK he's working on, it ain't a 2011 for sure.
