I've been single and celibate for over 30 years. I struggled through 2 abusive marriages, raised 3 kids on my own, worked multiple jobs to try and survive, my parents and siblings mocked me and hoped I would fall on my face because I didn't line up with their church beliefs. No friends, no family, no support system.

For me, I haven’t totally given up on people. But what I have done, is recognize that people will fail me. Some will do it in purpose and others because of my expectations I placed on them.
Nowadays, I can let people in my life, but I keep them at a distance. Nobody gets close enough to hurt me, unless I decide that person gets that close. And in doing that, I have to be ok that there’s a chance I’ll get hurt. Like I said… Nobody gets too close though.

Yup. I have 2 true ones and lucky with just that. Had over 100 "friends" back in the 1990's. You get to find out who your friends are when things go south for you. Then you TRULY find out who are your true friends during your adversity. The key is to not be bitter about this reality. It's the world we live in. A fallen realm with only a handful of truly BASED and PRINCIPLED individuals.
You can't just say F it and not trust anyone. NO. That's a failed LIFE TEST. Don't go that route. Trust .. but verify, and keep plugging along until you find the people in life that will get you to the end. And if you don't find anyone, that's ok too. Nothing wrong with trying. Trust yourself and ask God for guidance.

Another thing to consider is nervous system dysregulated. Everyone has had a lot of stress the last few years and stress accumulates in the body until it dysregulates you and you get stuck in fight or flight or freeze mode. This shift your perspective and way of seeing the world around you as a not safe place. (This doesn't discount mean people that need to go) But it's good to take care of yourself first.

I completely agree with you, Terry! 💯 It's all about distancing ourselves from those who bring toxic and low energy into our lives. Often, they just stick around to drain us. I've personally experienced toxic relationships, fake friends, and family members who only wanted me around to constantly help them. Now that I've recognized this, I find that being alone and at peace is truly heavenly.
My hubby and i met late in life. We have as little as possible to have to do with this so called world. No friends, all family are dead. We just do life as we wish.

I am 54. Divorced 4 times. 4 kids. Only one has anything to do with me. The zero part is my whole life. My relatives has had nothing to do with me my whole life. Same with my brother. My ex-wives only used me. No groups, organizations, religions. Want anything to do with me. I extremely lucky anyone talks to me personally. To my face. The public refuses to give me any positive reenforcement. None. Yet. Although. Being none stop punished for everyone. Minding my own business and none stop losing my wright's. I am 100% perfectly fine being on my own and by myself. I personally gained a boat load of knowledge because of it. I get to do what I want to do and when I want to do it. I am not joking. I love my life. There is me. My son because he is handicap. Our small dog. Our birds. Now. Only if the Government would grow up and stop punishing us for the rest of the world. That would make my life extremely perfect. My personal stress level is extremely low.

I actually kind of found the opposite ..I can often feel a bit invisible in life..but I was homeless for a few months and lived in a tent..I found that most people changed the way they were with me and started having deeper, more empathic conversation with me

I've been dealing with this for over 20 years of my life, but the more videos I hear like this the better I feel because I used to think there were bad and wrong things about me (not to say I'm always good or right all the time), but then I gotta come to realizations that other people screw up around me as well, and I have to leave more people behind. You hit it on the head, when we were younger, we didn't know any better, we basically allowed ourselves to be taken advantage of because we were naive. But as you get older and have had some bad relationships, you just become better at reading people and knowing what you want.

Probably mostly real young people on this channel because the content creator is young. That being said, I’m enjoying this content as a senior citizen because this young man is speaking truth. If there is any one thing I wish I could change looking back on my long life is to not have put my heart, trust and kindness into friends, family or life partner. I have always treated people in my personal life with absolute kindness so I had an expectation that those people would honor the trust I put in them and be with me through this road in life. It didn’t happen. And my friends my age, it didn’t happen for them either. Get a dog, love yourself and enjoy life all on your very own. You won’t end up with a broken heart and bad memories. Wish I had taken that path.

Late to the party but dude you nailed it. I’ve been having a hard time with this lately but the reality is I’m not designed for their way of life. Trying to change myself to fit in has only ever destroyed my mentality over and over. Loneliness will be a common companion for me either way. I’ve been on a journey to become good company for myself and now I have to tackle a few last big hurdles and I’m not going to lie, it’s scary. But I know I have to do it especially since I foresee a downfall coming for a lot of people. Keep fighting for you bro and may the scales tip ever in your favor.

Yeah well he is talking about life experience the most intriguing subjects of all time,no guessing,no trying to beat around the bush to make you figure it out,he goes straight to the point and people can relate their experience with his.I came to the conclusion that like kind people have the same problems,or see things pretty much in the same light.
I can hardly think of any positive past memories around other humans… I’m 37 and all I remember with my peers were just ridicule, making fun of other people or me, bullying, mocking, criticism, and jokes at best. I realized by 18 there was nothing really positive or enjoyable from being around others.
Same here. I always look back on my life, and everyone I've met in any environment or stage in my life, even trying to meet others on the basis of common interests. I've always noticed that they always were trying to stir the pot and create problems, talking behind my back and sought to bring in drama into my life. I have barely met anyone in this world who did not have some sort of urge to financially or otherwise destroy me. The proof of this is that most people won't even just want to hang out with you on the basis of similar interests or even music, etc.
It's the school system, it teaches young children how to be barbarians from K~12

I have been alone so long that I am now isolated and now targeted by others. I am 56, and I have been through so much that I have lost who I once was. I am bullied at work to the point where I am off on disability. Every friend I once I had, even those I was friends with for years, have become like the world. The craziness of this world in the last 20 years is shocking. Not one person is a true friend or even a person who can be trusted to allow in my life. All of this has led to my being afraid and too alone. I used to enjoy my alone time, but now I am just very sad.
I'll take the company of a loyal, loving dog any day over backstabbing, dishonest people.
