    The fact that u been gaming the Scotty for years and u just whip the DF3 out with more consistency is impressive

    Talk about confirmation bias, this video is awesome! You can see the night and day difference in the “clout” putter vs one that actually helps you sink putts! Ordered my LAB at the beginning of June and I can’t wait for that sucker to show up!

    You found out like I did. LAB putter more consistent, even more so as time goes on. It takes time to get over compensation from using a anser style putter with head rotation

    No expert here, but just overall, mallet putters are far more stable than blades. I switched from a mallet to a SC blade and I can tell the difference. I like my SC and putt well with it. I think it's based on the putting skill level of the user. To the eye, the blade looks sleeker which psychologically enhances confidence, that's important too. For beginners, mallets should be the go-to.

    Love the fitting video and this one. The one question i have is "with how specific this putter is made for you, how would one ever buy one used?"

    • @TinkerGolfMan
      @TinkerGolfMan  3 месяца назад +1

      Great question! You could still buy a used one, and send it over to LAB directly and they can make the adjustments necessary.

    Very informative Video. Thanks. As mentioned by others in this thread. You have a blade putter (toe hang putter) designed for more an Arc path of putting, vs LAB more face balanced (as you’ve mentioned straight back and through). 2 different styles IMO. Better comparo wld have been a faced up SC vs LAB. Great video nonetheless. I did try the DF3🎉🎉🎉

    I really don't care what anyone says on any putting video, I have used 2 different scotty Cameron's over a 20-year period, and I have never putted as well as I have in the past month since receiving my lab custom 2.1. I might not make every putt, but I have the confidence that I will.
    I will never touch another scotty or any other companies putters. I am officially a lab rat for life.

      I love the look too but just wasn’t getting the start lines i wanted. Switched to the df 3 this week and first round i had 23 putts. 13 one putts and the rest were 2 putts. Only hit 7 gir and made 5 of them for bird. Shot a career best 75. I usually average 33-36 putts per round. This is going to be game changing i believe.

    If the Scotty was at 72 deg on the Lie Angle instead of 70 deg, it would make a big difference. You didn't swing the Scotty as good as you did the DF3 so
    It seemed to be at a disadvantage because of the fitting you went through with DF3.
    With the Scotty, you seemed stuck and didn't release the putter.
    You hit the Scotty better from 15ft but still stuck and mostly off the heal on the strikes.
    Hit DF3 better from 15 ft but seems to let if swing better than the scotty and not sure if that's weight or the balancing.

  • @golfsh00ter
    @golfsh00ter 3 месяца назад +1

    Nice vid, QQ - even though both are 33” long you have a 70 deg lie angle on the Scotty vs 74 on the DF3. Did LAB fit you into 74, and if so, perhaps you would be more consistent with the Scotty bent up to 74 if that lie angle is a better match for you? I have a Link1 and I’m struggling with distance control, I think it might just be too heavy for me. I may consider a DF3 with lighter weight build, also checking out Edel fitting.

      I'm very interested in the lie angle difference too.
      If you submit the video, as they suggest, for the online fitting it's just a video of a guy with a bog standard lie putter from any store. Unless they see where your balls are going they'll never know what lie angle to fit you with....

    You should have swapped after every couple of putts. You used the Scotty to learn the length and line so not a really apples to apples comparison.

    I have tried all the LAB putters including the DF3. I also was moving from a Scotty Cameron except it’s a 34 inch 2012 Newport 2. Same standard 70° lie and custom 2° loft. When LAB did their online fitting they moved me to a 74° lie angle as well. Was that a big noticeable jump to you? I’ve always thought the LAB putters look closed to me at address pointing left. Did you have any of these issues?

    Do you feel like that 4 degrees in lie angle helps you look over the ball more than the SC? I want to try a putter with a bigger lie angle. And curious to know why you didn't go for the Link 1.0?

    I have done extensive testing all versions of lab putters versus my scotty newport 2 and i ended up making more and having better control with scotty. I think a lot of this depends on your stroke. People that struggle with putting will benefit from a lab, but more precise putters will not see the benefit - that was my finding. Lab makes great putters, but like all clubs, it may not be for everyone. I also found the lab (all versions) to have less feedback and distance control was not as good as my scotty. I do think there lab can help the majority of golfers with poor strokes, however, when you're dialed in with the putter, nothing beats the feel, balance, look, and framing of the ball than a scotty.

    • @jtuds
      @jtuds 2 месяца назад

      I’ve tried so many Cameron putters and just don’t like the feel off the face. Tbh for me the best feeling putter I’ve ever hit it a mizuno m craft or maybe one of the ping pld’s. The firmness of a Scotty feels harsh to me. Even the current odyssey inserts give off a bit too much “clickiness” for me.
      The labs make their hay by being easier to square at impact and that matters, but read and pace are still on you.
      As they say, it’s not the putter, it’s the putter.
