    Thanks for this Joe! You're absolutely right, the lighter my grip pressure is and more I let gravity do the work, the straighter it goes.

      Love it! Glad the video helped. Yeah for me it was a constant reminder for months and now it just feels so natural. My putting has honestly never been better. I am now able to hit my intended line 95 percent of the time which is huge!

    Thanks you for the video. Excellent advise. The one handed putt is a great practice for all putters. It's a totally cool looking putter too and I can see it's advantages to others. It's funny, but I'm now in a rebuild mode to replace my mat after getting 3 weeks on the E.M.Lite and dropping 10 strokes due to putting. I kid you not. But good news! I'll be at Valhalla for the PGA Championship 2024 next week! WooHoo! NO not as an player, but we have dreams. Our home town course. It should be a blast.

    Got my DF3 last week and played it for the first time today. Had some really great putts and some really bad ones where I instinctually tried to manipulate the face. Thumbs off really shows off what these putters do, great tip!

    Recently switch back to my previous ping anser blade for a few rounds and was surprised at how my puts had seemed to improved after close to a year of using the lab exclusively👍

    DF3 user and i was struggling with misses to the right. I considered sending it to the dark cupboard under the stairs but instead decided to go left below right (right handed golfer) . This was a massive improvement instantly . it was really like the light bulb was switched on . So don't despair the putter is great and will be great for you.

    Interesting video, thank you. I'm going for A l.a.b. Fitting in 3 days, I may incorporate your thumbs off tip into the fitting. And if I decide to buy one, for sure be drilling those tips for the adjustment period. Thanks again!!👍

      Thanks mate! Good luck with the fitting and yes for when you get your putter there will most likely be a break in period but stick with it because when you get used to it there's no way you will go back!

    Can you make a video going over the different data tiles you use? HLA for putting has been a good addition.

      I too got custom fit for a DF3. It took a several weeks before I realized I was putting like my old way of manipulating the putter. I started practicing with thumbs off method and the putts started dropping. I can’t wait to get to the greens now. Went from a 14 index to 11 in the past month. Love my DF3.

    Agree with the thumbs off, Sam Hahn himself also has a video on it. I even putted like that for 2 months: I lifted my bottom hand thumb and placed my top hand thumb on the left wrist - to keep my hands connected. Since 2 weeks I place my bottom hand thumb back on the shaft, fully vertical, no pressure.
    My remaining challenge is that the total lack of torque makes the head FEEL a LOT lighter than it actually is, so speed is tricky....recently trying to deliberately not hit the middle to take something off... face is still square enough to get the ball on line.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  3 месяца назад +1

      I have thought about taking the thumbs off and putting like that lol I've also thought about getting one of those 2 thumb grips to see how that is but tbh I love the forward press grip.
      Is yours the heavy version or just standard? It's funny these putters do swing weight a lot heavier than normal putters to try and counter the lack of tourqe.

    I went to Golf Galaxy to try a DF3 & the MEZZ LAB Golf putters and was surprised at how light it felt. I hit a few on a Perfect Putter mat and did surprisingly well. Then I used it on their indoor putting green and I quickly realized you should add a 4th skill to your putter list and that is ALIGNMENT. On the mat I literally dropped one 8’ after another but I had a line on the mat pointing me in the exact direction to the hole. Out on the floor there were no straight white lines to the hole and the make rate dropped, a lot. I hit the putt, square, at the intended speed, but my alignment didn’t match the read. Without the lines on the mat, my straight stroke sent the ball perfectly in the wrong direction. That was when I decided until I can fix my alignment issues the lab putter wasn’t going to help me very much and I left the store a little frustrated. Maybe someday I’ll have a LAB putter. but sadly not right now, Any suggestions?

      This club heavily relies on the lie angle being fitted for you. Hard to pull this club off the rack and judge the alignment if it’s not fitted. I’d just focus on the feel at the pro shop and the alignment of your putts come from getting the correct lie angle fitted.

      Also, check your eye dominance. Sounds like you are having trouble finding the line from address. Also make sure your eyes are right over or inside the ball by an inch.

    Given the LAB requires no hand manipulation and a pendulum stroke, how do you adjust for very long putts? (+40 ft.)

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  12 дней назад

      So you're still going to have an arc to your stroke and that arc is heavily influenced by the lie angle of your putter. So when you have a longer putt it's just like a normal putter you just don't have to manipulate the face. Hope that makes sense 👍👍

    Great video, Joe! I was getting fitted for a new driver a few months ago and was hitting a Mezz while I was waiting for the fitter. It was the easiest hitting putter I have ever played. If I hadn't replaced my driver this year, I would have gotten that putter.
    By the way, did you create the course in this video yourself or did you have someone build it for you? I like that grid for practicing putting speed.

      Thanks mate! Yes the only thing with them is the cost.. but that being said for the price vs other clubs it's something I will have in the bag longer than any of the others so it's a good investment lol.
      Yes the new facility is something I'm working on and will release the details soon 👍👍

    With shaft lean built into the grip where does L.A.B recommend you line up the club in your stance? Is it with the ball in the middle, is it with the club face in the middle or is it with the shaft in the middle of the stance. Maybe you could do a video on what you have found to be the best.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Месяц назад

      Unfortunately there isn't one answer to it. It's going to depend on how you deliver the clubface back to the ball. The intent for the pre-set forward shaft lean is to really promote that upwards strike on the ball. For me I've found the best position to be the forward of my stance and if you have a launch monitor you really want your VLA to be between 1 and 2 degrees.

    • @muzakk55
      @muzakk55 Месяц назад

      @@JLagGOLF Thank you for your reply. You say "For me I've found the best position to be the forward of my stance" Could you give me a visual reference? what is in the center of your stance. When you look straight down between your feet. What is in the middle, between your eyes? Is it where the shaft enters the head or is it where the club face meets the ball? Cant find any info on this anywhere. There is a brief mention in a L.A.B. video about the original DF broomstick putter saying that the shaft should be in the center of the stance. That puts the ball forward like you said. But there is nothing out there about the Mezz-1 I find that the face of the putter where it meets the ball at alignment is what works best for me. Just curious how far forward you like it. If there are any other Mezz-1 users reading this please add what you're seeing in the middle of your stance between eyes when you set up to putt the ball. Thank you

      I have a the ACCRA and love it. Ive had the standard steel shaft one as well and the ACCRA is just stiffer and offers a bit more stability. You notice it mostly on the long putts when you miss hit them.

      I have the TPT shaft in my df3
      The difference is in the immediate feedback, you can feel/hear the purity of stroke in real time. It’s not tinny or hollow like the Accra shafts were in my testing but gives more info back to the user

    I'm interested in a broomstick model. Any thoughts on how to decide what length is best--or lie angle?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  2 месяца назад +1

      Id LOVE to try the broomstick.. I think it makes so much sense for this LAB technology. For lie angle it will be 80 degrees as that's the legal limit for putters. And with broomsticks the whole point is To try and get it as upright as possible. For the length the best thing to do is to get your driver and set up in a broomstick position and your three would and feel if that is nice. It's all explained on the LAB website.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  3 месяца назад

      Honestly you can do this! I find myself on some short putts doing it. You'll get there mate it's definitely a different feel for me it's like I'm just trying to get the front of the grip facing away from me at the same angle 90 degrees the whole time.. so the grip doesn't twist at all if that makes any sense at all.

    • @Romi247

      I putt with the an underhand grip with the palms up and the thumbs on the side of the putter grip which removes lots or wrist hinge. It is like rocking a baby stroke. Worked well with my old evnroll putter that had the gravity grip. Slight adjustments with my mezz but works well.

I bought my LAB about 3 months ago, my putting is better.. 1.3 stroke per round, statistically. but after listening to this video, I went out tonight just allowing the putter to do what it does.. and it's so much better.. just thinking about distance control, and working on a smooth stroke. 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♀️😍
