what i loved about alexi was that he was what i would call a "natural" player. its not clean or perfect, his left hand fingering isnt the most efficient... its pure feel and energy. as opposed to a perfectionist creature like jari maenpaa, probably my favourite metal guitar player
@@rkseh If I'm not mistaken he broke his wrist in 2004 and never went to hospital to recover god knows how much time passed since that and he had to relearn everything once again and most likely where he started to become sloppy plus his alcoholism issues.
my favourite thing about alexi is how he just makes the guitar scream! and the sounds he makes with it....hes just got the greatest feel of any metal guitarist ive come across before
Alexi is one of the coolest guitar players, every video and concert i see him in, he's having fun. all it takes is a great attitude about what u do for a living and everyone will love and support u. i love and support Alexi :)
This shows the importance of having an engineer with you, or rather someone to hit the record/ rewind button over and over again. I love me some bodom.
0:47 Alexi says: Let's do it again, something similar, let's just mess around. The other guy says (gathering his jaw from the carpet): Was it bad or something?!? Alexi replies: the tappings could be better. Holy sht.
Alexi plays with intensity and charisma...runs all over the stage and actually looks like he has fun doing it...alot of other guys just stand in one spot and play...how exciting is that. He's also very skilled and can hang with the best!
I know that, I love Alexi too. Children of Bodom have probably been the band that's biggest influenced my music tastes, my point was that Loomis and mainly Abasi have also got remarkable riff/solo writing skills. I'm not trying to cause an argument I was just pointing it out. :)
In music you have all kind of players and its not about who is the most technical and insane , technical and insane isnt always that special. Music just has to be good, when its good its good , I love Alexi !!
There are two guitarists in Children Of Bodom. Roope latvala who plays rythm and Alexi Laiho who does Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals. The guy you see in the video is Alexi.
0:00-1:17 was Sioux City Sarsaparilla 1:17-2:23 was Alexi's take for 12 Donkeys (He didnt use any of the ones shown in the video, thus none of THOSE solos are on that CD) 2:23 - end was again, Sioux City Sarsaparilla Both Tracks are on the Finnish "Guitar Heroes" album.
during the jam solo right after the guy walks past alexi that part in the solo when he uses the whammy bar is so sick and i can't figure out how to do it :P
They prolly just had that at the studio. These days hes been using Marshall KK sig JCM 800s or his Lee Jackson Preamps into VHT 2/90 poweramps into Marshall cabs.
The LTD-600 comes with Seymour Duncan blackouts at the moment. I just got mine. Its generally more gainy and bassy than the EMG's, but you can order the EMG's for about 100 bucks.
Maybe, what I wanted to say that they have really hard songs to play and if I was him I would worry about quality of my playing while on stage. I saw some late videos of kissing the shadows and he played it great and his back on the good road. I love this guys playing, with Jeff Loomis and Jari Mäenpääto me most influential
RIP Alexi ..the greatest to ever do it. you're a true legend now. god bless your soul what a talent.😞😞
1.000.000 and almost 10years old, i remember when you uploaded this video, i cant believe you never done part 2 of GuitarHeroes!
And now officially a guitar god, when Guitar World magazine ranked Alexi as #1 metal guitarist :)
what i loved about alexi was that he was what i would call a "natural" player. its not clean or perfect, his left hand fingering isnt the most efficient... its pure feel and energy. as opposed to a perfectionist creature like jari maenpaa, probably my favourite metal guitar player
well he started off being a perfectionist..then ya..we know what happened. If he never lived the self abusing life style, man..he'd kill all
Sounds Like Alexi was a way cooler dude
Very True....
He was on his prime here, very clean playing and focused. Shame he's gone too soon, we won't ever forget you, bro. :(
i think his prime was before 2005. in 2006 he was already a sloppy drunk at least live. hate the stockholm show
@@rkseh If I'm not mistaken he broke his wrist in 2004 and never went to hospital to recover god knows how much time passed since that and he had to relearn everything once again and most likely where he started to become sloppy plus his alcoholism issues.
I feel SO proud to be from Finland right now!!!
I'm absolutely in love with his whammy bar technique. it just kills me
my favourite thing about alexi is how he just makes the guitar scream! and the sounds he makes with it....hes just got the greatest feel of any metal guitarist ive come across before
Alexi is one of the coolest guitar players, every video and concert i see him in, he's having fun. all it takes is a great attitude about what u do for a living and everyone will love and support u.
i love and support Alexi :)
Alexi is awesome because he doesn't just shred, he plays with feel too. He's fucking amazing
Rock in peace Wildchild you are very missed and will never be forgotten
his music lives in our hearts
This shows the importance of having an engineer with you, or rather someone to hit the record/ rewind button over and over again. I love me some bodom.

0:47 Alexi says: Let's do it again, something similar, let's just mess around.
The other guy says (gathering his jaw from the carpet): Was it bad or something?!?
Alexi replies: the tappings could be better.
Holy sht.
It was kinda sloppy though :)
this guy is absolutely amazing
i could listen to such stuff for hours :)
Best video of alexi's skill
Alexi plays with intensity and charisma...runs all over the stage and actually looks like he has fun doing it...alot of other guys just stand in one spot and play...how exciting is that. He's also very skilled and can hang with the best!
this video was a huge inspiration years a go as a young guitarist, Alexi was a beast and was taken too soon
A million view's.
Wish he were alive to see it.
Rip wildchild
I know that, I love Alexi too. Children of Bodom have probably been the band that's biggest influenced my music tastes, my point was that Loomis and mainly Abasi have also got remarkable riff/solo writing skills. I'm not trying to cause an argument I was just pointing it out. :)

Reason Alexi is good,
He puts time into his instrument
the more you put into it the more you get out of it
omfg his playing style is so fucken unique!!!
0:00-1:17 was Sioux City Sarsaparilla
1:17-2:23 was Alexi's take for 12 Donkeys (He didnt use any of the ones shown in the video, thus none of THOSE solos are on that CD)
2:23 - end was again, Sioux City Sarsaparilla
Both Tracks are on the Finnish "Guitar Heroes" album.
Alexi's song Sioux City Sarsaparilla. And at the end they are recording Alexi's solo for 12 Donkeys.
oh okay thx man, allways good to learn something new, gunnu b practicing that 1 allot, lol
wish I had that kind of tapping skill
The first riffs are from the song Sioux CIty Sarsparilla which he wrote for a Finnish guitar heros CD, after 1:16 its for 12 Donkeys from the same CD
during the jam solo right after the guy walks past alexi
that part in the solo when he uses the whammy bar is so sick and i can't figure out how to do it :P
I have already watched this video 50x

1:46 i love that sound

They prolly just had that at the studio. These days hes been using Marshall KK sig JCM 800s or his Lee Jackson Preamps into VHT 2/90 poweramps into Marshall cabs.

The LTD-600 comes with Seymour Duncan blackouts at the moment. I just got mine. Its generally more gainy and bassy than the EMG's, but you can order the EMG's for about 100 bucks.

MAN YOU NEED TO TEACH ME THAT !!!
I know they did a signing in a record store when they were here. Unfortunately I had school and missed it.
