I am honestly not too sure. I am sure copying the coding could work. If that doesn't work, you may have to play around with it to make it similar to the look you are wanting.

I am not sure you can do that. So, you want the chat to overlay while you are playing a game? StreamElements, to my knowledge, cannot do that. I am not sure of any programs or software that would allow that.

If you are trying to use it for RUclips, SE doesn't actually support a chatbox just yet for RUclips streamers. In the video, I give a brief rundown to use StreamLabs for the chatbox while we wait for a legitimate implementation. It stinks but you are still getting the full effect of SE's overlays and alert system with one other browser source being from StreamLabs.
I followed every step for the Twitch portion of this video but when I went live an typed in the chat in my second account the messages didn't appear in the overlay. Help????
A bit strange how that happened... Do the messages appear in the chat from that account in general? Like, are you able to see them on the stream dashboard?

Are you live streaming when testing the chat box? It won't appear if you are not live. At least, that is what I noticed when streaming from RUclips. Twitch seems to work though. I'd start a private live stream just to test if the chat box is indeed working before going live publicly. Also, sometimes the chat box doesn't work for whatever reason. Tends to not work one day but work the next.
I can't get a chatbox to work to save my life. I can get an overlay to appear, live stream it and then watch the broadcast, but although the overlays appear there's nothing in them.
is there a way to get streamelements/nightbots messages to pop up on stream when people do commands gamble etc? not popping up for me only the chatters messages (on the screen/overlay)
Did you find a solution? I feel it should automatically be put into the chat on its own. If you enabled a setting to hide bot commands, that'll probably be the reason right there.
I took a look and couldn’t figure anything out. I know I’ve seen the commands in the chat box before. I would check their forums maybe or use their support tab in the StreamElements discord.
it's prette late but if you still need it, its a setting in the chatbox when editing the overlay. there is an option to ignore usernames and streamelements for example is automaticly in that list and won't be shown in the box so u could take a look there if your bots are in that list
If you are talking about buying an overlay and importing it into StreamElements, yes, sometimes it does have that. My overlay, for example, was imported into SE as the intermission screen with the chat box location. All I had to do was import the chat box separately and place it where I wanted it. I am on RUclips though. So, it was a little different of a process.
There's no notifications for likes and shares etc, when streaming to facebook gaming. Twitch and RUclips have the chatbox notifications. I can't find anything on how to activate it for facebook gaming.

That’s what I was assuming. I’m not sure why they don’t have it implemented. Could really help the program out tremendously if they did. A way around it would be using StreamLabs just for the chat box as shown in the video. That’s what I do while I wait for StreamElements chatbox.

Hello! Are youknow how to format the command to show a user's Sub Age/time. I'm wanting to able to do !subage @(insert name) and see their sub age in chat.
That’s a special command StreamElements, other streaming platforms, and I believe NightBot offer. All you have to do is allow that platform to be a channel moderator, activate the pre made command in the commands menu, and you’re set.

@@mrkrndl I feel you didn't set it up properly. It should work once you add it in without even changing the settings. Maybe check your chatbox settings again, see if you have the proper link copied and pasted into the OBS browser source, make sure the chat box isn't "hidden" in either OBS or the overlay editor or other layers are in front of it, etc.

@@kagezay Even when you are signed into it on your RUclips? That shouldn't be happening... I honestly don't know how to resolve that. The only thing I could think of would be to verify you are signed in with RUclips, make sure to copy the right URL link, and be signed into the right profile on the StreamElements software.
I’ve had the same thing with the alerts. I think it’s a RUclips issue. For the last month or so I haven’t had accurate or any alerts at all. From subscribers and tips to channel memberships. Very bothersome.
The background should be transparent automatically. If not, you might have a layer blocking it from being transparent. I'd check your layers and hide/unhide each layer until you find the background that is causing the issue. Then, delete it or keep it hidden.

I am not sure you can do that. So, you want the chat to overlay while you are playing a game? StreamElements, to my knowledge, cannot do that. I am not sure of any programs or software that would allow that.
This is something you can do with either Xsplit Broadcaster or Streamlabs' version of OBS (an experimental feature in the settings)

Make sure you sign into the RUclips account when you first access the StreamElements website.

Click Custom under the settings tab. By default it is transparent. I made my own chatbox background!
