    What about reprogramming?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  2 месяца назад +1

      @@YairHach yes reprogramming is possible with Yamanaka factors. Basically a set of 4 transcription factors could be expressed to change the fate of differentiated cells into stem cell. this is the basis of induced pluripotency.

    Why autonomous condition is under the category of specification? Why it's not *autonomous determination* ?

      @@animatedbiologywitharpanif a cell or group of cell has autonomous specification which actually act as determined cell; if whatever the circumstances it will achieve its fate. Then why it is called autonomous specification, why it is not called autonomous determination.

    Where does the cell get the information about differentiation?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  11 месяцев назад +1

      In cell fate specification, signaling centers play pivotal roles by secreting molecules that influence nearby cells. These signaling molecules, often proteins or growth factors, bind to receptors on target cells, initiating a cascade of intracellular events. This signaling cascade can activate or repress specific genes, determining the cell's fate, such as differentiation into a specific cell type or remaining undifferentiated. Notable examples include the notochord in vertebrate development, which secretes Sonic Hedgehog to pattern the neural tube, and the organizer region in early amphibian embryos, producing Noggin to regulate neural and mesodermal differentiation. Signaling centers are crucial for orchestrating complex developmental processes.

    • @MrMolinari
      @MrMolinari 11 месяцев назад

      @@animatedbiologywitharpan I'm aware of morphogens but that's not what I was referring to. The signalling process is either random or deliberate. It's obviously not random since we don't have a foot sticking out of our foreheads. But if it's deliberate then there must be a source of information that determines morphogen behaviour. Also, do we know exactly how information is transferred between morphogens and cells (DNA)? As I'm researching this question I find it bizarre that so much is taken for granted but not entirely understood. The science on the mechanism of DNA expression sounds like there's so much of it that is unknown that it's hard to make definitive conclusions. Thank you for your answer.
