Yes, over time, the tone and content of the "Corrections" segment on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" has evolved. Initially, the segment focused on correcting any factual errors or mistakes made during previous episodes of the show. However, as time has passed, the segment has become more playful and irreverent, with Meyers sometimes using it to mock and ridicule his critics and detractors. Meyers often uses humor and sarcasm to address any criticisms or inaccuracies made about him or his show, and this may be what you're referring to as him "flipping the jackals off in disdain." Some viewers enjoy Meyers' witty and acerbic approach to addressing his critics, while others may find it confrontational or inappropriate. Nonetheless, it has become a hallmark of Meyers' show and his comedic style.
We "won" *as soon as "Corrections" started airing.* And it's a win-win (positive sum game), with *the "we" including Seth and everyone he works with, along with us jackals* plus any happy randos who stumble in and have a laugh. Win-win-win? Win ad infinitum?
Corrections has been the highlight of my week, essentially for the first 3 years of medical school. That very first episode came out right around the start of school, and every friday on the commute home, corrections was there. From like the second episode it just became this giant evolving inside joke between seth and us. Im sure to people who hadnt been there every week as they aired, it just wasnt that funny, but to those of us who watched every single one as they aired, it was unlike anything I have ever been a part of. I am about to graduate in a few months, and be a physician. This show was a huge part of what made me feel human during that time. Especially doing medical school during a pandemic, after working as a nurse at the start of the pandemic. It was a ROUGH few years, especially as a 36yr old med student, married with kids, bills to pay, living in a world that seemingly just refuses to admit ignorance of anything. Its oretty annoying being a nurse or doctor highly trained in human biology, immunology, virology, in the middle of a once in a century pandemic, while a not insignificant portion of the country refuses to live in reality. So thank you Seth for keeping me sane, and delivering week in and week out. I really hope the strike gets handled and you return to us asap.
In the spirit of caskets vs. coffins -- at 9:10 you used the terms "cemetery" and "graveyard" interchangably. Graveyards are (generally small) plots adjacent to churches, while cemeteries are (generally much larger) independent plots. The correct umbrella term is "burial ground."
I always assumed the captions were done in-house because no other video series on youtube has this level of accuracy or precision. Whoever does the CC for Corrections simply likes this show.
True story: in the mid 90's, one of my best friends had a roommate that drove an early 1970's Caddy hearse as her car, and she was also one of those people that called herself a vampire (they were (maybe still are?) sort of a cult, sort of a club, sort of a group of posers who chose identifying as vampires as what they decided to belong to), and anyways, I was at my friend's house and she tells this long assed story that was supposed to be funny about how she was behind a bloodmobile in traffic, and they both made a left turn at the same place. Then she laughed her ass off. I was like, I don't get it... Then she runs through like the bullet points of the story, I still don;t get it, then she says, "a vampire following a bloodmobile..." -and I'm all, "oh yeah, I'm sorry, I totally forgot that you think you're a vampire." Errr....guess you had to be there
I’ve just come back to corrections after quite a long break and there’s a real difference. It was like watching a rabbit run for its life away from wild dogs before, now it feels like Seth has dug in, built defences and is fighting off the jackals as they come with a kind of “I’ve done this to myself” apathy to the whole thing I love this show
Excellent use of ‘parasocial’, a new term for me, although clearly not a new concept since living in hope / awe / horror / dread of our ‘friend’ in the screen’s attention is what we jackals all live for.

That is how I noticed Seth often says "a" instead of "an" when the next word starts with vowel. I'm too much of self-loathing Jackal though to point that out as an official correction.
Thank you from Switzerland, Seth, for years of joy, laughter, and help going through tough times! My mom used to watch you, with me by her side, and she just loved you! Every time I'm laughing at loud at your entire show, or Corrections, I can still hear her laughing along... you are helping me dealing with her passing! The study of bird eggs is “oology” and the “ancient study of” adds the prefix “paleo” so the study of ancient bird eggs would be “paleooology” which would be the only real word with three “O”s in a row.
If the vertical beams are U shaped and the horizontal beams are L shaped, the rivets could be for a plate that joins the two members. Plates like this are actually really common in this kind of structure when used in buildings. In this particular case the lack of rivets elsewhere suggests it might be part of a repair. The other possibility is that the entire structure is fake.

Pigeon actually have a decent amount of intelligence compared to what normally people think, they're one of the few species that can recognize themselves in a mirror and they're pretty good at knowing where they are in relation to their home to get back.
Importantly, pigeons are not known as rock doves. A rock dove is either a pigeon form the British isles, or the common ancestor of all pigeons. Rock doves are an invasive species in the United States. Passenger pigeons, are not rock doves, they were native to the U.S., but went extinct when we ate them all. But, their closest living relative, also not a rock dove, the Pacific Band Tailed Pigeon is a much larger and more beautiful species of pigeon that still survives in the Western U.S. It is not known how many band tailed pigeons still survive, but hunting this species of pigeon (not rock dove) was made illegal when they became a threatened species.

Replying to boost visibility in the hopes that the intern in charge of Late Night's channel sees this, and we can enjoy this episode of Corrections for longer than 30 days!
I'd forgotten how much I love *Corrections.* It's been added to my RUclips *Watch Later* playlist, but content just keeps getting added to the playlist, pushing *Corrections* further and further down. Finally decided to use the official *Corrections* playlist. Ended up cackling at the Funeral Coach bit. Bravo, Meyers, bravo.
Love that he is making so much fun of the Jackals and doing it in style! I almost lost it about the part about Wally!!!! LOve how you can hear the laughter in the background, you can tell they all have a lot of fun! I love watching corrections so much!
I was happy that I saw the Flock of Seagulls joke coming. And when you delivered on it, it made my day. That picture of Wally looks like he gave into the Other Mother from Coraline, almost.
Don’t worry Seth, you had it right. In order to ‘punch out’ at the end of the shift the driver would have to go back to the office or garage (or wherever they ‘punched in’) and therefore the vehicle would have been returned by default.
Or unless they use the app “when I work” to clock in and out, so they technically can do it wherever they are, like I’m able to do since my work uses that app.
Audibly sighed when I heard Seth would be off for two weeks but then remembered I’m seeing him perform in a comedy festival next weekend and all was right with the workd
Please just use sound-alikes, Seth!!! You're cutting us off from our supply! And also we're completists, obsessed with maintaining a complete Corrections collection! 😭
Watching corrections at 1:30 am ET thanks to insomnia and anxiety caused by the lay-off posts on LinkedIn. This video is actually helping me fight anxiety! Ugh I’ve morphed into every millennial stereotype.
I am literally doing the exact same thing right now at 1:19pm😂. Except I am reading a report on the jobs report. I don’t blame us, we are living in a country control by Silents and Boomers. Our generation is on pause waiting for them to die. The irony is that they don’t suffer from insomnia or anxiety.
Cemetery and Graveyard are not interchangeable terms as a graveyard is attached to a church or other house of worship. Incidentally, this means that for most graveyards no motor vehicle would be required to relocate the deceased from the memorial to the burial.
I think at this point, he should do Closer look shows from home from the Attic when its hiatus, and have a greenscreen shaped like a door in the background that matches the studio dressing room door
Tony only needs to change his signs if he's advertising triangles of pizza. and honestly it's not just to be technically correct because that's a bad pizza sign
It's been a week now, and it kinda feels like a crime! 😂 Also, blue fingers either means he robbed a bank OR pulled the fire alarm at a public high school. That will spray blue ink when pulled, too!
I fell asleep listening to one of the blobbity blobbity interviews and, instead of sleeping through the whole night, my mind heard the corrections jingle and not only woke up, but went through a whole inner monologue about “wait is it Friday already???” Before I woke up all the way. Never change Seth.
Yes! Zooologist! If we get in on this, we could even be one of those languages that invents a new letter that means there used to be two O's there but we didn't want to write them both all the time - zøologist or something - but then we'll have to spend forever telling kids you can't spell it zø.
It would most likely involve a "u" somewhere in there because the English language is VERY opposed to 3 of the same letter in a row. In our brains, that's a typo! 😂
So much funny tonight! Coach Mackenzie. 😂 I couldn’t stop laughing after realizing I am also among the “one-winged dove” mistaken listeners. Thank you for a really great Corrections!
Pigeon's are actually well-known to be pretty intelligent. Carrier-pigeons, for example. Oh and Bert used to lose at chess to a pigeon on Sesame Street fairly regularly.
I had to rewind to playback the "inaudible gasp" to watch it with captions. I was saddened to see that the captions did not include the words "inaudible gasp".
Seriously, I LOVE hearing the staff having a good item. Good for all of you, glad that you are having fun, and thanks for the laughs. All of you work your ass off

Seth giving the double bird after silently gasping is probably the greatest corrections moment yet.

Another great call forward with the flock of seagulls reference. Masterclass of comedy
Corrections is one of the best standup comedy bits ever.. darn those flock of seagulls got me.
Love that he is making so much fun of the Jackals and doing it in style! I almost lost it about the part about Wally!!!! LOve how you can hear the laughter in the background, you can tell they all have a lot of fun!
I love watching corrections so much!
Goddamn it, I’m never going to be able to ignore those fucking rivets now.
it would be funny if they move after this episode disappears
If I die unexpectedly, have Seth coach my funeral.
I knew the Flock of Seagulls joke was coming and it was still good!
I mean, unless they run an independent funeral parlor and bring their vehicle home to keep the crime rate low 😆
they take the hearse home and also they dress up like Frankenstein ............'s Monster and their family is like the Munsters.
Or unless they use the app “when I work” to clock in and out, so they technically can do it wherever they are, like I’m able to do since my work uses that app.
@@RHColeah beat me to it! Exactly, what about all of those freelance hearse drivers out there?
If the boss is at the bar and the driver punches him out, I'm betting the hearse gets impounded...
Audibly sighed when I heard Seth would be off for two weeks but then remembered I’m seeing him perform in a comedy festival next weekend and all was right with the workd
Omg that's so cooooool
May this never end. Seth's torture for our delight 😂 x
I spit out my drink at "I will say, very empowering" 😂 Seth you are the best
Please just use sound-alikes, Seth!!! You're cutting us off from our supply! And also we're completists, obsessed with maintaining a complete Corrections collection! 😭
Yes!! The missing episode is really messing with my completist brain. The most recent Popsicle Schick is gone too T-T
@@ivyinabottle PS is gone?? Nooooo!!...
Seth the funeral coach - Amazing haha
Watching corrections at 1:30 am ET thanks to insomnia and anxiety caused by the lay-off posts on LinkedIn. This video is actually helping me fight anxiety! Ugh I’ve morphed into every millennial stereotype.
Good luck. Sucks. Hope you get some relief.
Same!!!
"Ugh I’ve morphed into every millennial stereotype."
thanks boomer?
@@HRHDaviaTheYoungerthe F we don't. You don't own insomnia or anxiety, either
That first art piece is right. Such a natural progression of Seth's nightmares coming to life 😅
We should start a gofundme to have Seth's backdrop redesigned to be structurally accurate
And new ahirts! I hate he wears plaid shirts with a plaid background.
He wore a cashmere sweater recently that was quite fetching.
How about we do that with 1 percent and support his charity to feed people with the rest.
Add a little duct tape. Way cheaper.
Nah, make it worse
Cemetery and Graveyard are not interchangeable terms as a graveyard is attached to a church or other house of worship. Incidentally, this means that for most graveyards no motor vehicle would be required to relocate the deceased from the memorial to the burial.
Two week hiatus‽ That's too long without Late Night.
I think at this point, he should do Closer look shows from home from the Attic when its hiatus, and have a greenscreen shaped like a door in the background that matches the studio dressing room door
I agree! Only 4 days a week, a week off every month or so, and now this. I hate it.
I cannot unsee those rivets. Dammit.
Tony only needs to change his signs if he's advertising triangles of pizza. and honestly it's not just to be technically correct because that's a bad pizza sign
He takes a ton of time off and I'm glad he gets time with his family and all, but it's a bummer to have no show.
It's been a week now, and it kinda feels like a crime! 😂
Also, blue fingers either means he robbed a bank OR pulled the fire alarm at a public high school. That will spray blue ink when pulled, too!
I was just waiting for the flock of seagulls reference. Thankfully I you tube downloaded this one.
I haven't rewatched any of these. But I'm sad to learn one is missing. You should make these available on a box set or something.
I fell asleep listening to one of the blobbity blobbity interviews and, instead of sleeping through the whole night, my mind heard the corrections jingle and not only woke up, but went through a whole inner monologue about “wait is it Friday already???” Before I woke up all the way. Never change Seth.
This episode of corrections is definitely a contender for 2024 Emmys
Omg, I couldn’t stop laughing at the funeral hearse now called “coach” bit.
Seth is absolutely a reformed jackal.
And I use “reformed” in the most generous possible way here.
Yes! Zooologist! If we get in on this, we could even be one of those languages that invents a new letter that means there used to be two O's there but we didn't want to write them both all the time -
zøologist or something - but then we'll have to spend forever telling kids you can't spell it zø.
uue can totally spell it zø!
Zewologist
It would most likely involve a "u" somewhere in there because the English language is VERY opposed to 3 of the same letter in a row. In our brains, that's a typo! 😂
I must remember that pronunciation of “zoologist” the next time I go to the zo.
The New Yorker uses ö for stuff like that, iirc, as part of their house style. Zöology?
Heyyyy!!! Whoever’s in charge, pay your writers enough so Seth doesn’t keep going missing!! We want him backkkkk!!!!
We'll be here when you return Seth... whether you like it or not.
8:09 "And, guys, don't just pick 69 because, you know... To quote a former first lady, 'Be best.' " 💀 I'm ded. lol
I think you'll find salpingo-oophorectomy is a word that already has 3 Os in row. So the zooologists could do it if they wanted.
Does it count though? There is a dash between the words.
(Genuine jackal question)
I'm glad this episode won't be available after 30 days, cause holy crap, no one else should be subjected to that Wally picture.
Glad to see the Jackal card again this week! Enjoy your time off
Ep 40 is probably one of my favourite eps of Corrections. So glad I saw it while it was still up!!
I laughed so hard during the One Wing Dove conversation then came crashing down when you said two week vacation 😞
Noooo not again
Aargh…why does Seth go away so much?
Hmmm ...I always thought it was "just like the ones we've loved..."
So much funny tonight! Coach Mackenzie. 😂 I couldn’t stop laughing after realizing I am also among the “one-winged dove” mistaken listeners. Thank you for a really great Corrections!
That was a wonderful episode of Funeral Night Lights. Hiatus In Piece 🍕
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought it was "the one winged dove" LOL
My vote for best episode goes to this one! Bravo!!
Corrections is my favorite segment of the show
Seriously, I LOVE hearing the staff having a good item. Good for all of you, glad that you are having fun, and thanks for the laughs. All of you work your ass off
Absolutely cackling at the funeral coach bit 😂
