• CORRECTIONS Episode 77...
Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
I like that this show has gone for long enough for Seth’s reaction to go from “I stand corrected “ to “shut the f*ck up”.
I knew it was coming and it still got me!
Seth's mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore.
Lolll yes it's weird how much they makes it feel like this really has grown into a story of reciprocal thing because it's one of those things that happens as you get used to and comfortable with new people. Seth and the crew really have created something unique and it's so appreciated. Burned out really bad around September and then had a string of family health emergencies while trying to coax my brain out of depression but every week Corrections popped up to give me a moment of just utter ridiculous amusement and eccentricity. Finally getting a lot steadier with my mental health and it's a testament to Seth that these 15 minutes always brought the same delight as I had before and after those few shtty months!
Same for fellow jackals - the concerns are always fun AF to read! Thank y'all for being awesome!💜
I think it’s because if the SpecJackular is ~categorized~ differently than Corrections, that it’s another opportunity for an Emmy consideration, and that if the panel catches word that it’s merely episode 50 of corrections that it’ll be automatically removed from consideration entirely
So long they can't keep up with the REAL news anymore... they prep for this all week and can't write real jokes.
That joke about Buck having 2 yachts got huge laughs from the rest of the crew! Which made me laugh even harder. I love that everyone has acknowledged that Buck laughs more than anyone else during Corrections.
Based on the laughter, Seth may have to replace individual writers, producers, lawyers, assistants, etc. but he's got one cameraman for life!😂
I'm guessing you could say he must have ben laughing all the way to the bank....?
@@torinarg123hey. Yes
What I love is that it’s one of those jokes bell do that’s for the crew. Really gives Corrections that fun, unplugged vibe that makes it great.
Correction: Any episode of Corrections is better than any episode of Carpool Karaoke. Get it right, Seth!
Absolutely!
I agree!!!
Doesn't matter. John Oliver will win the Emmy....again. He's gonna end up being the Bob Costas of this decade. Sigh. 🥺
I strongly agree! And the host is way more likeable and feels genuine.
@@rabbit251Haha yeah, I just hope Carpool Karaoke won't win 😂
You can't tell me anything these other late night hosts put out for Emmy nominations could ever compare to saying the queen died of auto-erotic asphyxiation 😂😂😂
Scollins?
But Seth did not say asphyxiation. :( My eagle eye saw the caption. He said affixiation)
The queen joke worked better with the flub: knowing the punchline made the flag graphic unexpected and hilarious
I agree! The break killed me, then the flag resuscitated me only to immediately kill me again.
This song would've been perfect

Ps. Whoever chose the thumbnail for this episode is incredible and deserves a raise.
The episodes with unusual thumbnails have a noticeably higher views count. I guess there really are some "casual" watchers of Corrections out there.
So true! That thing is horrifying! Hahaha
I haven't got there yet but it looks like a Mac Tonight crocheted pierogi 😂
I see those eyes in my nightmares now.
It's so cursed but hilarious 😂
Corrections is now what I look forward to the most every week.
The Jackal way, the right way every Thursday
@@noahjohnson3370Friday is when they hit for me. 1-3am
Yeah, I struggle to make friends in real life as well, but the jackals are always here for me lol, Im in Australia and its on a Friday night after I have had a few drinks so it is the perfect way to end a week.
This was the best corrections. It was like an entire inside joke told by a condescending friend. Send this to the Emmys. But also make them watch every ep of corrections beforehand because theyd be better for it.
Not sure how the voting panel would take to the last joke
You should put a poll in the RUclips community page about which episode to submit. This is where true Jackals are😁
Yes!
For real, Twitter sux
Agreed.
Yeah, we don’t want Twitter randos voting on this😉
@@KingCorsoFox Don't worry, nobody knows about seacaptainpolls.
This one! This episode should be the one submitted for Emmy consideration. Holy crap, man! I've got a headache from laughing too hard too frequently!
I have been singing "Edge of Seventeen" wrong my entire life. I honestly thought it was "One-Winged Dove" until Seth clearly said "White Winged Dove" and I went to look it up. Sometimes Seth gets to be the Jackal.
Well, I totally didn't get the joke until I saw this comment. Turns out, I wasn't even close. All these years, I've always thought it was "just like the one we know" so, hey, you were closer than me.
Either die as the host (from auto erotic asphyxiation) or live long enough to see yourself become the jackal.
I thought it was One Winged Dove also
A one winged dove sound comes off from the side speaker. Hard to get in stereo...
I’ve been singing “just like the one we love” this whole time 😅😅😅
Can't wait to hear Seth and his team react to the timing of Trump's indictment news. Not just too late for the episode they were recording, but on Thursday, so they have to wait for the whole weekend before they can respond.
This always seems to happen to them.
New option: Friday episodes? Anyone? Anyone? Conan used to do them, and he realized they brought an amplified energy he didn't see on other weekdays.
Makes for one hell of a good week’s worth of shows coming up though, guaranteed!
@@johnobrien2373 I'm just grateful when these guys actually work FOUR days a week, or three weeks IN A ROW without a "hiatus."
what confuses me is that jimmy fallon told jokes about the story, and i thought they both taped at the same time. i am pretty sure i have heard both of them refer to a 5:30 pm tape time.
"Archim-edes nutz" literally made me put my phone down and applaud
I love that if you focus on the laughter occasionally you can clearly pick out Amber’s laughter. Seth, thank you - Corrections is my favorite bit on RUclips!! ❤
Man, three-week set-up for Eureka -- damn this show is brilliant. THIS is the greatest episode of Corrections (if you've seen all the others)
I knew I would scroll down to see someone calling this the greatest episode yet. I didn't think so, though had some instant favorite moments.
Greatest episode yet. I am at my desk and laughed out loud thrice (deez nuts, Eureka, and the joke flub) and the yacht shout out almost got me.
I can't believe you said my dumb pizza math joke!! Ahhh! Made my day. Fantastic episode! I honestly just thought the Mac Tonight bit was just funny up until now, but that doll? Cursed. I get it now.
Congrats 😊🎉
Omg congratulations!!! 🎉
Yay! (I think I’ll have sector of pizza today.)
It’s a pretty cool feeling!
🥳😁
I love Corrections so much, thanks to you and the crew for giving us this gem. The Archimedes joke is going to continue to stress me out, but hey, that's what we're here for.
I feel the same way. It’s cruelty.
I count down the seconds until Corrections gets uploaded. This is my favourite part of the week 😄
Do I travel back in time at some point to post this comment?
Hahaha, well played fellow jackal of the same name…I wonder how many more of us there are? 😎

I laugh with Seth because he’s damn funny and also because Seth laughs with Seth. Funny, witty, engaging, charming. 💕
The Specjackular is not listed as Episode 50 it's listed as Episode 51, since it is a celebration of 50 Corrections.
As another Jackal pointed out PLEASE add episode 40 back! Is it private because you welcome back Shoemaker to the tune of Eminem's Without Me?? Use some of your sweater money to buy the rights to that song.
Love Corrections!! Thanks for the laughs! Pure joy every episode
Specjackular sounds dirty every time
This show has a small but loyal audience for a reason. It is truly a highlight of my week.
Seth was laughing, but was also genuinely bummed that he flubbed the last joke. I'm in awe of the respect and work effort he puts toward entertaining this small community and his wonderful staff every week. It's some of the best creative content in the world. I love it!
You kidding? He got a way bigger laugh out of the flub -- and he got to do the joke afterwards.

Also, the Felting community has clearly joined the Knitting and Crocheting community crusade to bring Seth to his knees.

I've been watching Corrections since the beginning, and I'm now working my way through them again - it might be even more fun when you know how things will evolve! Anyway, I found that "CORRECTIONS Episode 40: Week of Monday, March 14" has been turned into a private video. Give it back! Correct this mistake!
I'm sleepy and reading tiny words. I saw that as "switched to Private Idaho" and was intrigued.

Indeed! That episode was called "The Return of Mikey The Shoe". Please fix.🙏Thank you.🙏 (You should have downloaded them, like some jackals I know...)
About 2 weeks ago, I discovered corrections and subsequently binged the entirety front to back and even started watching back to front to pass time and distract from some medical issues but wow what a fun ride! Glad to be among the jackals!
Welcome! It’s been quite the ride! Never want to get off!
@@anro7137that’s what she said
Long time watcher, relatively new Jackal. Medici is pronounced MED-i-chee, not me-DEE-chee, and they were Italian nobility, not royalty; Italy wasn't a unified country with a royal family until the 1860s. If anything, Shoemaker would possibly be a descendant of French royalty if he had Medici blood, since two different Medici daughters married Henri II and Henri IV of France.
Man, corrections always feels like a family gathering. People are always arguing about everything but it still feels like home.
The comment detailing how chicken nuggets are made is glorious, I love it. However, I think they did prove that kids would starve in a chicken nugget factory, presuming that they saw how the chicken nuggets were made.
You'd be surprised ! Small psychopaths.
Jamie Oliver tried this. Kids still wanted them: ruclips.net/video/mKwL5G5HbGA/видео.html
Lol that was me and I am truly honored he read it on corrections. I feel so fulfilled. As for the kids, I think the strong would survive. The weak would wimp out and starve because they couldn’t handle the brutal reality of chicken nuggets.
The kids are just listening to us argue, not sure if they are going to starve or not. I think that, collectively, we are incredibly selfish--more focused on fighting in front of the kids to prove who's right without even realising the impact we're having on them.
Wait, did you not watch Jaime Oliver trying to turn kids off of chicken nuggets by showing them how they are made? Spoiler alert: It did not work, lol.
My week is complete, I've watched the latest Corrections. It is such a treat to watch Seth work. I've done small stand up bits for 50 years, since college, and I wish I could do reactions and stills like he does. Damn, man, you just get better!
I have to admit now, that at age 57, today was the first day i learned it was "White Wing Dove" instead of "One Wing Dove" I thought it was much more tragic with a different take on caged bird. Now i have to rethink my whole life.
Did you ever hear the Romantics sing "football whispering in my ear, tell me all the things I want to hear" in "what I like about you"?
Learn something new everyday man.
For some reason I heard it as " Wild Wing Girl", weird I know. TIL
@@petecoogan Probably but this one was easy to continue to mis-hear cause in my mind it made sense. For a long time I thought Burton Cummings (Of The Guess Who) had written a power ballad about Santa. It wasn't until years later I wanted to know what the rest of the lyrics were since i only knew this powerful one line where he sings Santaaaaah! and thought what was it about? Kids only liking him at Christmas time? Him toiling at delivering? And discovered all this time Burton was singing "Stand Tall"... (note I hear these songs on Muzak at work which is never good for actually hearing what the actual lyrics are.
The One-Winged Dove, flapping madly and flying in circles
This could be the best Corrections I’ve watched. I vote for this one for an Emmy
Mourning doves actually make many different noises, ranging from pidgeony cooing to loud shrieky crow-like noises with their long ocarina sound being just their contact call.
And it's not really like pigeon and dove are biologically useful categories anyhow. There's no real cladistic cutoff between the ones we decided to call "pigeons" and the ones we decided to call "doves". All doves ARE pigeons.
i thought we were going to just get an audio clip of randy johnson exploding the bird again
@@Cathowl Also the common pigeon (which is presumably the type Seth was referring to) are also called rock doves. So not only are they both the same family and just some species (are seemingly randomly) called pigeons and others called doves (much like turtles and terrapins in the USA). Some species are called both including the specific one Seth was referring to.
Mourning doves sound like someone having sex.
We have those doves in our yard and they kind of hoot. Also regularly plow into our sliding glass doors.
This one is by far my favorite. Hahaha, from start to finish--this was hilarious.
That queen joke was one of the funniest things I've heard in a while!
the flag was what made it
Yeah the timing of the flag flash was impeccable. And you could hear Seth giggling as it was flashed. :)
😂 i love corrections so much. SO much better than Carpool Karaoke. It doesn’t rely on celebrity guests, just TALENT.
PS that mac tonight doll is a soft woolly nightmare.
Correction: 14:12 should be auto-erotic asphyxiation, not auto-erotic "affixiation". Unless she died from erotically attaching things to each other?
Well…. I mean……. She…. Uh, could have.
There was an old shoemaker who worked in a rock, he had so many children, (about this he would squawk). 23 and me confirmed at least one was named Kenny, so he hired them all and they took his last penny. 🙂

100% didn't see the Archimedes joke coming.
I love it.
So glad they brought back the easter egg on the back of the cue cards
The 'Jackals' fandom is low-key the best, least toxic and most entertaining bunch. Proud to be a part of it
We are like super not toxic, buy way of being toxic. Like normally just randomly correcting people is seen as toxic, and that is what the community is built on. But at the same time everyone here is always so positive about it.
We are the nicest fandom on the internet. All we do is kindly bully a rich and famous comedian.
This is one of the few good things born from the pandemic. We cherish that cabin fever comedy too much to despoil it.
We need jackal smilies though, or emoticons….I can’t think of what I’m trying to say. Lol

Hey! Well, this is MY first episode of Corrections, and I must say there IS a learning curve. After a short bit, I got it, and I understood the premise (eureka?). You have a regular audience that is smart and educated, perhaps to its detriment. But you put them to good use here. 😂 I will be back for more in the future.

Corrections never disappoints Seth. This was a giggle fest. I love this segment. Keep it going. That was great.
It doesn't disappoint Seth. Whom does it disappoint?
Aren't most shows nominated for an Emmy part of a series, meaning that most individual episodes are part of some story arc?
I was happier than I should've been when Seth pulled out the card at the end. A nice call back to the early days of Corrections when he wrote his notes on the back of some covid instruction cards or something like that and then switched to ones with something funny on them.
This ep had me laughing so much that i didnt mind that he flubbed the last joke because you still got it and the set up was solid. What a fun show.

A pizza slice IS a triangle in non euclidean geometry.
Right? And who says it isn't an octagonal pizza? (Or that the pizza has 8 slices, for that matter)
What? Do you even know what non-Euclidean geometry is? It’s geometry on a curved surface. Pizzas are flat. What you said makes no sense.
@@GusCraft460 Assuming we're referring to a hypothetical pizza in this Universe, the underlying spacetime is curved by gravity. For this to be a pizza of any use, it must consist of matter, which has mass and therefore exerts gravitational force.

Not to do with Corrections specifically, but didn’t the Emmy’s decide to replace Variety Talk and Variety Sketch Series categories with Talk Series and Scripted Variety Series? Meaning Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will fall under Variety Series leaving Late Night with Seth Meyers to win Talk Series…
I'm neither jealous nor envious of your Mac Tonight collection
A correction: You do go over the side of a cliff. The side of the cliff ends vertically at the top and to fall off a cliff you need to go over the edge of the cliff which is the boundary that separate the horizontal and vertical sides. So by definition you are over the egde of the vertical side as well, while the vertical part might be seen as infinitesimally thin as you cross that line you go over it.
This
True. In order to go over the side of the cliff, you must first fall off the top of the cliff. You can only fall off the side of the cliff if you are climbing on the cliff, in which case you have not gone over the side.
Some cliffs have paths or roads built onto or into their sides. It is therefore perfectly possible to drive off the side of a cliff without recourse to semantic pedantry. Unless this also counts as semantic pedantry?
@@RandomGuyRandomNumber This is exactly what I thought.
@Dominic Cerisano Mathematically speaking you go over the node connecting the cliff-side-edge and the nearest ground-edge.
CORRECTION: You can treat ANY disease with ivermectin, as long as you don't care about the results.
ALSO: Driving OFF the side of a cliff is not the same as driving OVER the side of a cliff. You drive over the top, you drive over the side, too. That's how cliffs work.
Anyway, happy jacklin', folks.

Eagle-eyed correction!
A correction requires a pre-existing error.
Failing to predict a future event over which one has no control or specialist knowledge is not an error.
Conforming to a long-established, contractually stipulated and expected delivery time for a commercial product (e.g. a TV show) is not even mis-judged or ill-conceived, and might even be considered the opposite of erroneous.
Just rejoice in the news and be grateful that you will get to re-live that joy on Monday with all the Jimmys, Stephens and Seths that your heart desires.
This is the only talk show anything I look forward to.

Correction - a pizza slice can have a curved side that's LONGER than the two radius lengths. It's not a given that the curved side is shorter.
True- also, those horrible school rectangular pizzas could in theory be cut on the diagonal, creating two equally unappetizing triangle pieces.
Also, calculus. As the slice of the "pi" tends toward zero, the curve tends toward a straight line, effectively allowing us to treat it as a triangle. mic drop.
So true, I used to get my pizza place to cut my pizza into 4 slices, cause you know, I didn't think I could finish 8 😅😅
Yes, that would be the case if the angle of the slice is greater than 57.3°, assuming that the pizza is a perfect circle with a completely smooth crust. But with an actual pizza, we get entangled in the coastline paradox...
When I order American pizza, I only eat the crusts, because I don’t like the part with toppings. So my “slice” is a curved rectangle with two straight sides and one curved side. What’s that called?
Also the remaining bit that I give to my partner is a triangle because I cut the crust off in a straight line. Actually I scissor it off. If you don’t cut pizza with scissors, try it. It’s much easier.
Corrections is so much better than Carpool Karaoke, it'll be a crime if they lose. They so deserve that Emmy!
CORRECTION JACKALS STAND UP!!
Nope. Too late, flat in bed and too high! But I can type a comment faster than I think I can if that counts?
"Buck got a second yacht." Classic! That's so funny! Or at least it would be if I had any idea who "Buck" is. That's the kind of joke that's a sure Emmy winner.
Wally Two Trees , Bucky Two Y achts
I can't wait until 2032 when Seth runs for President as the nominee of 'The Jackal Party'.
Campaign slogan: "Eureka!"
THAT ENDING, INCREDIBLE. anyways i'll give you this since you thrive off it: the hearse driver would not clock in, do his job, and then clock out, because he would have driven off the top of this cliff in this analogy and be dead.
8:20 - remember how terrified we were when the audience came back? Clearly nothing to worry about
Remember how terrified we were period? I do love that those pandemic shows grew into Corrections. And when it wins the Emmy? Oh yeah baby! Too be part of all this is a good healthy feeling!
the sound of the dove woke my sleeping cat right up lol lol
I'm sure John Oliver will appreciate the Queen joke
I wonder if Oliver appreciated the lifting of his classic joke where he mentions a person or place, shows a graphic, then dunks on the audience for not knowing the graphic is wrong.
Seth, you are INSANE !!!! Please don't stop what you do, at least until I die. Thanks.
"Hey lady, does your husband like Night Ranger?" 😆
You can still Rock in Americaaaaaaa!!!
The opening lines of these would be ideal as soundbites for dubstep drops.
