One thing I've learned in my years of playing professionally is if you can end it with a bang you got it made.... and this drummer when he grabs that symbol... At the end... it's like his signature.... That this has been a magical moment....& that this moment will never be able to be accomplished again by anyone else
Priceless! This is music! So glad we can all enjoy this. At 1:20 You can almost see the mischief in Mr. Shorter's eyes before he starts playing those awkward lines "hehe I'm going to surprise those cats"
The man is in his eighties, respect! I thought he was missing slightly on the improv section, listened to the original and thought this actually sounded better! :D
There are some of us that start our life as children enjoying cartoons and coloring books and what have you..... and then there are some children that I already know that they'll be jazz musicians by the time they're in kindergarten
This is a moment that will be captured for the ages!!
Go ON Mr. Shorter!!! 👊😉😎 Thanks Mr. Marsalis and JALC for continuing to share all this talent!
Mr
