Wow, this is brilliant and when Wynton and the flute player are trading fours, it’s an actual conversation, just good conversation, classy and in depth
Thanks for your beautiful insight on what they were doing, URMOM COULDNTRESISTTHEBBC
@@ghostbops4045 What?? Did that use to be his name or something??
@@austindavis2406 yeah 😂 i don’t know why he changed it, it made the comment 10x funnier
Never been a flute guy, but this dude kills it.
Yep, the finest fluting (is that a word? 😅) that I have ever seen. Not only does he play things that look like they should be impossible, but sounds amazing while doing it too!
Duke Ellington wasn’t much of flute guy either so you don’t find it in many of his compositions including this one
Man that flautist has seriously good skills!
That flute playing... getting Wynton’s respect says it all.
True!
Dude is a boss
Baqar Abbas is a genius of the flute, way up there with the finest Western musicians. Startling at times to listen to his music.
The trading between the tabla player and the drummer was also amazing
I think Dan Nimmer’s solo is extremely underrated he literally creates a triad chord that changes his run for his own amusement just to bring everyone together 🏆🏆🏆👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
When I watch this I see a bunch of great musicians playing with their souls, not thinking about war or anything like that. I wished everybody would be as peaceful as these guys.
When I heard that flute lick for the first time, I had to stop what I was doing because my mind just went: "What in the actual f*** was that..." Seeing the smile and appreciation of Wynton as it happened makes it all so much better.
Just imagine for a moment the combined talent on that stage, so many tens of thousands of hours of hard practice, passion and pure dedication to make these moments as good as they can be. What a gift, we should be grateful.
No clue why, but the flute and the sitar bring tears to my eyes when they're "talking" with Wynton... Ridiculously good.
The flute work is amazing - Wynton loves it but at 3:45 the finger wag says "y'all steppin' on my solo lines a bit too long..." :-)
@@ncrieser1 I think the fellow air musician is just acknowledging another air musician, but who knows

That’s a bad dude on the wooden flute! Bad and strong knows it!

Wynton's smile after the wicked lick starting @ 3:02
So captivating kelly
This is beautiful made me want to cry.
Please join me😂
Never think Carlos gets enough praise. Cool, relaxed always in control and laying it down (it seems) without a break. Any genre, any tempo, any time signature. He is there. FAB YOU LOUS.
I cannot believe that humans are killing themselves in war. West and East are playing so loving.
Duke Ellington would be very proud of this interpretation!
Listened to Marsalis-Sachal Jazz Ensamble version of "Limbo Jazz" a thousand time and I never get tired of listening to it again and again... Simply beautiful!
8:25 is magic! This is why jazz is such a great art form
The Flute player is my absolute favourite - plays more musical than many flute players on conventional flutes.... - that all melts together so stellar ... highlite...
Baqar on the flute is a marvel
6:01 Woooo! What a change! When Blanding came in with that great sax sound, that was a SWEET change.
Marsalis has great admiration to Duke ...
In this track we can clearly hear how Wynton loves the old acoustic jazz.
One of the most interestingly satisfying piano solos my soul has ever heard. Amen
Righto. At 7:05 Wynton says "that's what I'm talkin' about"... Yup.
Very beautiful indeed. I hear some Ahmad Jamal flavors.
It is amazing how the two cultures synchronize
2:54 - the flutist's reply to Wynton's lick is EPIC! Wow.
That's what I thought
It's off the charts!
My favorite part is at 7:00 when Wynton is like "thats what I'm talking about"
They look like they are havin' too much fun up there!
I believe that Mr. Ellington would have loved this. Thank you.
What masters do when they vibe. Bravo!
I heard Indo-Jazz fusions live in the 1960s who pioneered the mix of jazz and Indian music. Always a great mix because both rely on improvisation.
I bow down my head to these legends
All I can say is, I loved every second of this.
The genius on the flute is outta this world!!
De la pure poésie! Belle rencontre entre 2 cultures musicales! Wynton Marsalis est un génie de l'orchestration!
I remember hearing this live... what an unforgettable performance! great memories 🙏🏻
This put a big smile on my face
The man on the flute has no right sounding that good
this flute man is just a magician ❤❤❤

2:53 conversation: Baqar Abbas and Wynton, man, it is Insane!!!!! Even Wynton is impressed with him Lol Plus some damn improvisation on Sitar? Bless you all !!!!!!
Indian music with an Indian melody with the rhythm in line with the rhythm of jazz..
Love the sitar exchange with trumpet!
The Jazz is a beautiful music genre. So soothing to the soul.
Absolutely amazing performance; all of the solos were simply fantastic, and the communication between the musicians was astounding!
That’s some of the coldest flute playing I have ever heard!
Wynton, you are the best. One love.
To the ones who loves to hear this, I wish your lives could be pure heaven ☺️ you have such a great vibe inside of you!
MIND IS BLOWN!!!! Pakistani Pride Sachal Jazz!!!!! Thank you everyone for this masterpiece
This deserves millions of views♥️
oh please post more from this concert. it was awesome!
Very entertaining clip! Absolutely love the exchanges between Wynton and the flutist. Looks like the conductor and the percussionist had a little trouble keeping the form though. Ali and Carlos had a short laugh about it. lol
The flute is amazing, but let's appreciate that sick line at 2:00 from Wynton.
SIMPLY A CLASSIC PIECE OF ARRANGEMENT>>>BRAVO!!!TO ALL MUSICIANS>>
Imagino a Ellington sonriendo, contento, de escuchar esto.
Buena foto de perfil
most extraordinary interesting mixing of talents from the world!when giants meet together, it's just magical!!
Loved the playful conversation! These guys are in a higher dimension of intelligence that I can only guess, makes my Sunday evening a joy in the meantime.
I heard this like one and a half years ago while on youtube. I liked it so much I put it in a special playlist I only put music that really reaches to me.
Without even realizing it until now, it hit me that my jazz band is playing this same piece that I put into my playlist long ago. I fell in love with a different arrangement of the same piece but still loved the simplistic melody both of the "first times" I heard it.
Music is great.
Every instrument and man playing was so perfect in those eleven minuts
Exelent taste
can't get enough of this ! so good.
Thank you! Simply beautiful.
