As someone who studies the First and Second World War. There are no winners in war. Even though we all should support Ukraine but the aftermath both short and long term there is no wins- all it leads to is emotional and physical pain (and that’s an huge understatement). At the end of the day everything has a price even something that is worth fighting, like democracy has a price- a price that scars centuries of generations. We are even still suffering the aftermath of the WW1 never mind WW2. So maybe remember that world. And Tommy as a German you should have know the power of the price of war! Remember it is not all the people of Russia that want war- it’s the Russian regime that wants war- it’s the politics not the peoples. Often it is the politics of one leader than the people that seek to destroy peace. War just leads to blood, loss and pain in every single way!
Study harder then. The wins in WW1 and WW2 made the USA the global gravity pole it is today

There is no winning for russia though. Even succeeding in their goals nothing changes for the average russian. They may have lost limbs, mental health, financial security, loved ones or their own life in the process though. And the government will gain another sinkhole to justify not giving any money to the average russian.
There is a winner in this war and its Ukraine.
As for "its the russian regime" this is too naive in regards to the average russian. Sure, some dont want war. But plenty do. Putin is still largely approved of and most protests are in regards to mobilization rather than the war itself.
Russian people support the war until it touches them. That's what mobilization has showed. Kudos to protesters in russia after mobilization, but that was way not enough and too late.

I understand why you would personally not want to fight in the war in Afghanistan, but I disagree that it was “American Imperialism” We invaded Afghanistan to get Bin Laden who the Taliban was giving safe haven. We gave them the opportunity to help us get him but they refused so we went in. Now if you want to talk about after we got Bin Laden, yes we definitely should have pulled out after he was killed because that was the mission. When they eventually won, they didn't give a shit about the war torn country and left it to the extremists. Wealthy Sheikh Osama bin Laden fought in this war and was trained personally by Americans.
After the Gulf wars, Osama was pissed the Americans wouldn't pull back their military influence in Saudi Arabia and the region in general, culminating in 9/11. The Americans were surprised to find the extremist regime they helped install wouldn't give up a Muslim to non-Muslims, leading to a devastating 20 year war.

Osama bin laden was killed in 2011 in Pakistan (the original government that funded him). Can you please explain to me why we stayed in Afghanistan for the next 10 years after we already killed him? Their was absolutely no reason for us to stay there after we completed our initial objective.

When it comes to the middle east, things get even more messy. So many years wasted for nothing. From ww1 to now the west and Russia have been playing a messy game of chess in the middle east that has resulted in pretty much no gains and only dead civilians and soldiers. In the US, public opinion towards any intervention in the middle east is at an all time low. We've spent so much time, effort, lives, and money there only to see new terrorist organization pop up and undo our work, or with the pull from Afgahnistan, learn that our government did pretty much nothing to make a change.
I agree we need to help people there, but the way we've screwed up has left little in the way of hope that any future missions there will actually work and would be worth the effort.
As for refugees, I think that is the one thing that should be done and not excused. We should be willing to take in all who need. Any justification against, really just boils down to some low key racism or laziness to design a plan to help take in refugees and give them a shelter and job.
