C&C is everything that is right with music. Such raw talent and passion. I've been a fan since I purchased SSTB on a recommendation from a friend the year it came out. IKSSE3 is their magnum opus and I will die on that hill.
I remember the first moment I heard Travis' lead part at the end of "Favor House". Driving on the NYS Thurway north with my best friend. We played it over about ten times and were blown away. Still gives me chills. What a special record and band.
Just found out about this band from my grandad and oh my lord they are Amazing I can’t wait to see them live later this year claudio is an amazing live performer such good presence
you know he's doing welcome home when he breaks out the Gibson EDS Double Neck though he has done it without the double neck before and instead used the Explorer i'm going to go insane if they do Welcome Home when i go to see them this year
He broke the headstock off of his main Explorer, and he hit that “Man Your Own Jackhammer!” with the emotion of a man who just lost about four grand for a new guitar lmao
phat bags holla Rob Chapman doesn't need to see other bands. He's in Dorje, who are the pinnacle of Western 21st Century music. He also donates generously to charity.
I really wish it sounded like this at Leeds. I was really near the front and they had the levels all wrong, all I could hear was Travis and Claudio's vocals. They were only like the 3rd band on the main stage of the whole weekend, but it pissed me off how much they fucked up the levels
Well, he slipped and went into a bit of a rage. You can see before he drops it altogether by the microphone stand it was still intact. It wouldn't be the first time that headstock broke though.
Anyone that was there know exactly what happened with Claudio at the end of In Keeping Secrets? I see he fell and got mad, but the explorer's headstock is still intact as he's hitting it against the cab. Did he intentionally break it off after that, or did he drop the guitar and then it broke? Just curious.
Stove I’m pretty sure his guitar was tuned to Eb (E flat in non music terms, so a half step or semi-tone down) rather than standard, as you can see him mouth “I’m in half” referring to a half step down.
Fuck it looks like a typically grim British summer's day. Bet the techs had sooo much fun trying to keep everything dry enough that it kept fucking working. Considering this is a festival and even the best sounding live bands can suck at festivals... Getting the sound right through monitors and at front of house is always at least a tad tricky from my limited experience teching festivals and if the band can't hear themselves its gonna be pretty tricky to not sound shit. And if they don't get the sound right FOH then no matter how tight they sound on stage they'll sound all sorts of crap to the punters. Anyway, what was I saying, oh yeah, they sound awesome, is what I'm trying to say, and in not the best conditions it seems, so well done everyone involved.
It's a bit of a long story. First, they reached their peak of popularity with their 3rd album in 2005, while working on their next album their drummer had a nervous breakdown and ditched them mid tour. Before their drummer left, he did finish writing the percussion to be used on their 4th album which turned out to be their second biggest album. They had some conflict with their new drummer while working on their 5th album and during this time their bass player robbed a drug store with a loaded shotgun, so they let him go as well. With their new drummer and now new bass player as well, they finished their 5th album which turned out to be the most poorly received album by fans, although the single "Here we are juggernaut" was popular in its own right. For album #6 their old drummer made a return and they found a permanent replacement for their bass player. With this new lineup they put together what I believe to be their best work yet, The Afterman double album. While their new work was their best received to date by critics, it couldn't find mainstream success due to the larger focus on the concept of the album and the lack of short and catchy singles. Finally, we get to their newest album from 2015. Claudio decided to abandon the concept they had been using in the past, and instead focus on telling the story of him coming to terms with his new life as his sun had just been born. From the fans there has been mixed reception, for some, it's their favourite album and for some, it's their least. In terms of popularity however, it's been doing far better for them than their last two albums and may be a sign of future popularity to come. I'm not the best writer and this was quite the wall of text, so I apologise for that and hope this shines some light on the trouble they've been through.
That looks about right. Though, it was a combination of nerves and drugs that led to both Josh and Mic to leave right before (actually, it may have been in the middle of it ) touring for the 3rd Album. Also: original bassist was there for Year of the Black Rainbow (5th album). I'm not sure that Josh had anything to do with the percussion on the 4th album (No World for Tomorrow). in fact, in behind the scenes footage for the 'making of' for No World For Tomorrow, it shows that Chris (new drummer), while not being allowed to physically record the drums for the album because of contractual arrangements, was on scene for the recording and showed the studio drummer (Taylor Hawkins, from Foo Fighters, if I remember correctly) what he wanted. So, Josh had nothing to do with No World for Tomorrow. Either way, both were there for writing and recording and touring for Year of the Black Rainbow (I saw them live for that tour). It was sometime afterward that Chris Pennie left. It must have been sometime in late 2011-mid 2012, I think. He was a talented dude, but so glad to have Josh back. His style fits the band much better.
In short, their MTV days came and gone but the record sales haven't! 6 consecutive albums in the Billboard top 10. Quite the definition of a niche band. But I do agree with @Leclwrd in that the new album TCBTS will bring a bit of that mainstream appeal back.
That drummer IS the pocket. His mouth agape like that. I’m a drummer and when that occurs, nothing can go wrong. In the absolute groove.
THE GAPE MEANS ALL IS WELL
Every time i see Josh so happy just drumming away it makes me happy
Just making my 300th round through all of Coheed's live performances on RUclips. Don't mind me.
One among the fence. Right there with you. My heart breaks with the guitar everytime
I do this all the time.
Anybody else notice how fucking EPIC it was that the wind picked up and it started raining while they were playing welcome home???
They command the fuckin' universe when they play that song.
Nature bends to their will when they play it.
Nature bends to their will when they play it.
They summoned a storm
@Drake Jaxon yup, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :D
My God Claudio is a freaking beast! Such a great live performer.
That was the most passionate "Man your own jackhammer" I have ever seen and it gives me chills.
Should’ve been at Neverender
8:34
Claudio the water bottle slaying extraordinaire strikes again haha.
C&C is everything that is right with music. Such raw talent and passion. I've been a fan since I purchased SSTB on a recommendation from a friend the year it came out. IKSSE3 is their magnum opus and I will die on that hill.
It's certainly their best album start to finish but if you're talking about the song, 2113 is just better than it in my opinion.
I remember the first moment I heard Travis' lead part at the end of "Favor House". Driving on the NYS Thurway north with my best friend. We played it over about ten times and were blown away. Still gives me chills. What a special record and band.
The mix on this is beautiful. C&C were hitting on all sixteen cylinders and damn, the drum and bass are VICIOUS.
Claudio went fucking nuts in this concert... I like it.
As it should be. The band is passion. "Welcome Home" is LYFE!
Breaking the headstock of your guitar on the first song. Way to open a set. What a great show.
Just found out about this band from my grandad and oh my lord they are Amazing I can’t wait to see them live later this year claudio is an amazing live performer such good presence
damn im old
I just showed my 6 year old son the solo of welcome home and my son said it was a whole new level of awesomeness dad!
Raising them right man.
And then everyone clapped
ugh that welcome home intro gets me every damn time.
you know he's doing welcome home when he breaks out the Gibson EDS Double Neck
though he has done it without the double neck before and instead used the Explorer
i'm going to go insane if they do Welcome Home when i go to see them this year
Drain You, a song from one of my all time favorite bands covered by another of my all time favorite bands. nice!
Claudio vocally MURDERED this set. Dayum - the whole band is tight but he was definitely on a level.
Dude..
Its so weird to see Claudio singing without a guitar..
So rare..
Coheed always puts on the best live shows! It's just phenomenal they play this good live.
you can see me at 22:44 lmao. I'm the one with glasses, blonde hair and white top looking directly at the camera lmao
ewwitscharlotte haha
Oh the one being dead with the dead ass crowd waiting on some 2016 boy band instead of hyping up to Coheed?
They should go down as the greatest band ever
Fuck it's only the first song and my face is fucking melted already...I am... gasping for airrrrrr!!!!

Damnnn. Claudio without the guitar is epic!!!
Cant tell if this is sarcasm or not
The guitar dampens his powers. Without it, he could destroy us all
Zach Cooper is a STALLION!
True anger at that " Man your own Jackhammer" after he is down by the Amp
He played it off like a fucking champ tho
He broke the headstock off of his main Explorer, and he hit that “Man Your Own Jackhammer!” with the emotion of a man who just lost about four grand for a new guitar lmao
@@dwaterson21Actually, this was the fifth time that guitar was repaired.

Nah, but it looks like him.
phat bags holla Rob Chapman doesn't need to see other bands. He's in Dorje, who are the pinnacle of Western 21st Century music. He also donates generously to charity.
best band
Even without a guitar he does so badass
their cover of "drain you" reminds me a lot of their Shabutie days. Epic!!!
And now I wanna go listen to some Shabutie...
No clue how the crowd stayed SO still while they played. I would’ve going crazy
It looked Rainy, windy and Cold. Respect to them for Riding it out.

MAN THIS LINE UP with IKSSE3 just amaze balls
Did Coheed just make the sun go dark for a second at 31:21
actually god
Most people who go reading nower days think they are at Tea in the park by the look of things...
T in the Park is more indie/pop bands. Reading & Leeds is more of the rock crowd, but with some indie too.
Epic to see Claud without a guitar! 😮
its raining and they are still killing the fuck out of this performance his voice is a little muffled but its still amazing ty for this
COHEED 🔥 CAMBRIA
I really wish it sounded like this at Leeds. I was really near the front and they had the levels all wrong, all I could hear was Travis and Claudio's vocals. They were only like the 3rd band on the main stage of the whole weekend, but it pissed me off how much they fucked up the levels
lets celebrate a good sound from a festival
that biffy clyro intro took me off guard pretty hard lol
Is Claudio humping that amp at 20:30???
Something Kurt Cobian used to do, I think it's fun lol
Nathan Gonzales holy shit someone finally replied! Thanks
Please make this available offline! ☹️
Turn this man’s MIC up!!
Best performance in fucking existstance fucking love the hype
HOLY crap 8:22. that guitar has no headstock. He slipped in the rain and broke it.
Well, he slipped and went into a bit of a rage. You can see before he drops it altogether by the microphone stand it was still intact. It wouldn't be the first time that headstock broke though.
Nah it's the legendary Gibson fold o matic headstock!!
absolutely fantastic
but holy fuck is my boy claudio okay? he seems to not be having a very good day
yeah he seems a bit off all throughout this video... especially at the end of welcome home (maybe he was just feeling lol he just looked odd)
he beat the shit out of those water bottles! TAKE THAT BOTTLED WATER!
ata 7:57 did u see claudio slip and like rage his guitar against the amp in the back at least what it looked like haha
THAT BASS!
LOL Claudio slipped and fell 7:58, got mad and started smashing his guitar
So thats what happened to the Korina Explorer... I know he loves that guitar... Best complete band of all time, dont even try to change my mind.
Wow...that ending...
The only song i really love of these guy's, absolute monster of a tune.
Anyone that was there know exactly what happened with Claudio at the end of In Keeping Secrets? I see he fell and got mad, but the explorer's headstock is still intact as he's hitting it against the cab. Did he intentionally break it off after that, or did he drop the guitar and then it broke? Just curious.
he kind of freaked out on the guitar after he tripped, but you are correct, it was intact until he threw it on the ground
thought so, thanks for your reply!
Cluad was pissed as fuck the whole time after he fell. I would be too they are playing on a slip n slide
cant blame anyone, it was raining
Actually not a fan of these but Welcome Home is such a monster of a tune.
Liked their cover of Nirvana too.
give the original songs a good few listens. I promise you, you'll love them!
Prog anything at its best
What actually happened at the start of Blood Red Summer? Claudio doesn't look pleased...
Stove I’m pretty sure his guitar was tuned to Eb (E flat in non music terms, so a half step or semi-tone down) rather than standard, as you can see him mouth “I’m in half” referring to a half step down.
Louis Chadwick Take a guitar and play what Claudio is playing based on the frets. The guitar isn't tuned down - it's in standard.
Stove ohhh yeah thanks I didn’t notice that
Stove his guitar had too much gain on it and a delay was on it. I felt bad for him!
@@clone_force_6952 they usually play half step down when live to preserve claudio's voice
🏴☠️ music. 🥳
Cadê o tombo?
Tell me this band does not rock
They dont rock. They fucking slay. #COTF
This band is passion. One of the few that does not sound like crap LIVE. "Welcome Home" is LYFE! \m/
tell me youd rather see an artist lip syncing..
no
No.
Fuck it looks like a typically grim British summer's day. Bet the techs had sooo much fun trying to keep everything dry enough that it kept fucking working.

If i was in that crowd id be freaking the fuck out not just standing around like wtf
So short set, man..
Claudio is the fucking man
i need a gif of 8:03-8:05 and i need it right now
He gets pissed at his tone at 12:37 it sounds like too much gain and they messed up the amp settings
The audience is dead man! WTF?!?!
7:58 can someone please tell me what the hell is going on here???? 😂😂😂😂
26:26... I came...
I know zacks wearing some converse but at times it looks like he’s wearing some old man loafers 😂
31:55 💀💀💀
what happened to these guys? they used to be pretty big

Ah well, got most of it right haha.
Still could have sworn I heard he had a shotgun from an interview with Claudio though.
