This is what I fucking love about Coheed, they make excellent music and even when they fuck up, you can tell they're having a great time and they love what they do. I'll be shocked if another band comes along in my lifetime that gets my love and respect like they have.
It makes me so happy just seeing them being human and enjoying themselves despite fuckups. Its the nature of live music. Roll with the punches and have fun with it, love you Coheed
I just saw him at Coney Island this weekend and they played the new "Unheavenly Creatures" track live. A guitar tech came out and played Claudio's part while he only sang. Then the next song he was back on guitar. It is def odd to see.

Claudio had broken his equipment, and the new guitar doesn't work with the pedal. You can see Claudio pressing the pedal at 4:48 but nothing happens with the Reverb effect. Then Claudio turns to the sound assistant guy saying: Help-me out ! Later in the same song, more problems with the pedal effects appear, and Claudio once again turns to the assistant guy asking for help. Nothing wrong with a bit of unexplored space that those songs have to offer. Hope the band doesn't see it as a fail to mess a song up every once in a while. That's how the music evolves! They could just keep jamming if they screw up a bit. Every show should be unique, in my opinion... Basic improvisation. With a repertoire of so many progressive songs, it's only natural they'd botch it every once in a while! ;-)
Mike Cirio yeah I believe that’s part of the reason, and when mike was in the band I think he had past experience with metal screaming. I’m not hating on Claudio he’s my absolute biggest musical inspiration

The Vandals are one of my all time favorites - I was SO stoked when they decided to come to boring VT one year (with Bad Religion and Offspring).
