Alice Dubious for my experience every garlic press wastes a lot of garlic. That is why I stoped using mine and now just press it with a knife and finely slice it if I need it. The smelly hands are easy to take care of.

Hideki Shinichi avocado is SUCH a b%^#h. When it’s soft, there’s those black spots😫. I can rarely get them just right, especially when I let them soften on the counter. Any suggestions?
Mango T i know this is late but give them a little squeeze every once and a while. Once your fingers can squeeze it easily without leaving marks on the avocado they should be good to go 🙂

Not only are they a waste of money, but it looks like there are voids in the spices in the measuring spoons after using the levellers that weren't there before he tried to level it. If I'm baking and I need to add a tablespoon of baking powder, 7/8 of a tablespoon is not going to produce the correct chemical reaction.
The funny part about the Levoons is the half-circle opening in the spice jar is already meant for leveling, but you can't use it because the Levoon's own leveler gets in the way.
my mom had something similar to that "smood" back in the 80's but just without the plastic on it, it was all metal. she used it to scramble eggs and whip cream, it was more flexible for whipping

The Smood masher would be easier to use if they changed the cross-section of the spring wire from round to teardrop shaped, with the sharp part downwards.
Fun tidbit: Smoods (minus the scraper) are sauce whisks. The round shape contours pot edges, allows for varried amounts of contact with sauce and allows whisk to stand alone in the pot. Excellent for cheese sauce and gravy.😊
Yeah, unless I'm doing a dish that specifically need whole or halved boiled potatoes, I'm cube them before boiling. I just don't think that thing would work that well on cubes.

@@Yoshikaable plus, American and Australian measurements are slightly different...e.g. a tablespoon is 20 ml/4teaspoons here, but only 15 ml/3 teaspoons over there... for some reason our measurements are different to yours, here a pint is 20 fl oz, so a gallon works out to be 160 fl oz which converts to approx 4.45 litres, but over there a gallon is approx 3.56 litres... I think it's something to do with us having been an English colony so everything goes back to that 🙄
Im the same way on both gadgets you are referring to. To mash anything soft, a fork could do it with slightly more effort, but less pressure needed. As for garlic, nothing beats a good, sharp chef/kitchen knife to mince then scraping it against the cutting board. The only kind of press I'll use is a citrus juicer for lemons and limes.
@@765respect if the clove is still attached to the bulb, ill always start it by doing that. Once the garlic is peeled, i mince it and smash that into a fine paste using the blade of my knife.

@@765respect use the flat of the blade to smash the clove when its still in its "husk". Then i chop the garlic as fine as possible. Then i press/scrape the garlic on the board to really get the natural oils in the garlic to the surface. Its something I learned at culinary school
If you didn't know, when you cook there is a layer of flavor on the bottom of the pan you have to scrape to get access too, this is called fond. You can scrape it up or some people deglaze the pan with a liquid
Being a cook, I like the tongs and spoon. I'm always trying to find a way to keep my spoon and tongs off the counter. These are simple and effective. Thanks for the links.

"Ummm, buy ripe avocados?" Oddly enough, although Grandma would avoid, and even throw away, "rotten" avocados, she would purposely seek out rotten bell peppers at the grocery, so that she could buy them for a discount. She would chop them up complete, and put them in the food, seeds and all, without even removing the rotten spots. But woe-betide any soft avocado that dared show itself in her kitchen! My Grandma was a looney bird, and her cooking was horrible. Except for her dog food. Grampa swore her dogfood was delicious, the best stew ever. If only she would allow him to eat it, but it was reserved for the dogs.

I have cerebral palsy, so I'm always on the lookout for kitchen gadgets to level the playing field for me when it comes to cooking. I really appreciate you doing this video and highlighting the some of the stuff is easy to use one-handed.
The scooper with leveler works better with round containers. With flat containers like 11:23, you can just scrap the top of the lid while getting the scoop out. It levels the contents in the spoon / scoop.

I love these but I wish there wasn't so much plastic. I can be rough on my measuring cups and need at least a heaftier plastic. The levoons look very thin and fragile. Metal handles are better for cooking utensils. They're safer and more durable.
The clongs Handle Will Get Hot if left on the skillet...so if they want to Improve N Sell, silicone parts should of been made on the top half of the handle to make it more approachable to us buyers without us getting burnt. 💕 Ok, I think the only one I actually would consider exchanging money for would be the Clongs, and they'd probably have to shave $5 off that $20 pricetag ! I ordinarily would laugh at even $15 for a gadget like that, but with the precision grip, the avoiding setting directly on the counter - shape, and the open/close click button on the end, it makes it a justifiable buy !! In my house, when I was a kid, we also used it as egg whisk. And if you were patient, it could mix egg whites to stiff peaks!

Something about that avocado made me laugh hysterically. Like, I imagine someone buying that product specifically for the purpose of mashing their avocados, just to have it forcefully throw them on the floor, like it's telling them "this is what happens to people who buy single use kitchen gadgets! how ya feelin now, punk?!"

I love these but I wish there wasn't so much plastic. I can be rough on my measuring cups and need at least a heaftier plastic. The levoons look very thin and fragile. Metal handles are better for cooking utensils. They're safer and more durable.

The clongs Handle Will Get Hot if left on the skillet...so if they want to Improve N Sell, silicone parts should of been made on the top half of the handle to make it more approachable to us buyers without us getting burnt. Just a friendly suggestion to the makers to make it perhaps better, and to make more bucks for them in the process 🤑 PS I endorse what I just said. LoL 🤓 n as always, infinite blessings all

💕 Ok, I think the only one I actually would consider exchanging money for would be the Clongs, and they'd probably have to shave $5 off that $20 pricetag ! I ordinarily would laugh at even $15 for a gadget like that, but with the precision grip, the avoiding setting directly on the counter - shape, and the open/close click button on the end, it makes it a justifiable buy !!
