    I think the egg cracker falls under the same category as so many “stupid”/“unnecessary” ASOT items- it was likely invented to help the elderly and disabled then made cheaply and marketed as widely as possible to allow it to get to its intended audience.

      @@munkustrap2 What did you think after you watched the video where he reviewed the 5 different egg crackers? Did you still think the Ingenius one did not belong on the wort of 2019 list?
      Oh, that's right. You didn't bother watching the egg cracker review video so you could make an informed opinion. You also didn't pay enough attention to THIS video to recognize that it was HIS opinion that the Ingenius egg cracker was the worst one of the 5 he reviewed.
      Were some of the other ones better suited to people with disabilities, dexterity, or hand strength problems? You have no idea, you just knee-jerked your way into, "because of the benefits to some people I don't think this belonged on this list." Holy frankenfuck, rotter. Now ANYTHING that might be helpful, no matter in how small a way, to someone who has difficulties can not be critically reviewed? Fuck that, you need to pay attention or wake up.

  • @BitOBear
    @BitOBear 5 лет назад +309

    The egg cracker (and lot's of products like the) are actually designed to help people with disabilities. But products like that cannot make their money in specialty catalogs so they have to be sold in general marketing. So in this case the point of the egg cracker is that when you tap the egg you won't drop it, and if you do drop it you probably can still use the egg.
    For fit people it is worthless. But for an old person with weak or shaky hands, or people with palsy or weak grip, these sorts of products are life changers.
    Whenever you review grippers and grabbers and helpers you should imagine not just yourself but also an eighty year old person using them.
    It'd be neat if yo included those views in your reviews. (I just found your channel, but I think could do with the extra perspective.)

      To be fair some dogs like to wear clothing, even something like that onesie. I wasn't one for dressing up dogs but I ended up doing so because I adopted a mini dachshund who was cold all the time. It started with a few sweaters and turned into a whole closet full of outfits. She didn't like being "naked" and would pick out her own outfit everyday from the closet.

    Apparently, the Nano tape's real usage is to prevent skids on a plastic mounting bar (the kind that you can extend between 2 walls to hang stuff). The original invention was from Japan which stated that and it was for earthquake preparation...and it used to be a square pad.

    You should review the Hamilton Beach Personal Mini Blender. I was skeptical when I got it, but for the $17 price tag, it works surprisingly well. Use it almost daily for smoothies or frozen cappuccinos. Blends ingredients really well, including ice. I have found out that it's better to add your ice after your liquid ingredients have been added. It's not overly loud. Very good product overall.

    #6 - I was distracted and didn't hear that it was a "personal thermostat". I thought that it was a wrist support for people who use their computer and its keyboard a lot (typists, gamers,...). I think the idea is that it heats or cools your blood by doing the same to your wrist, since blood vessels are very superficial there and the appliance is not very intrusive, and your heated/cooled blood will then do the same to your body thanks to circulation, but I don't think such a small appliance is powerful enough for it to do so (assuming the above is a possible function).

    I actually like my shed defender sort of. My dog doesn't generally mind wearing clothes like wearing coats in the winter. He's free to shed otherwise. I ended up using the shed defender when I need to take an Uber or Lyft with him with me. He is a double coated beagle so, the shedding gets real even with regular brushing. Plus he's anxious. I am a semi truck driver who lives on their truck. So, I don't own a vehicle or house. Sometimes we go to hotels when the truck is in a shop or he needs to go to an appointment. He doesn't like it but, it's temporary. I don't know who would get this for actual home use. It definitely isn't designed well though.

      Hello, very late to the party, but...
      This last year, my family held all events outside. We celebrated birthdays outside, too, which involved cutting cake. But the problem with outdoor cats and not normally eating outdoors is that they think they're entitled to what you're eating. We had to jerry rig a version of that because we had a single hand free for cutting and plating when the kittens had to be held to keep them off the table.
      For those who have dexterity issues or are one handed, a simple version of that is actually helpful. The problem is that that one is way too big and over complicated. We got the same effect rubber banding two knives together with a spacer at the back. Generally, infomercial type products are meant for people with some type of issue doing the thing the "normal" way. Fine motor skills for cracking an egg, let's say. But these products are the cheap and useless versions of it normally

    I know from experience that dogs with anxiety like having a tight fitting suite like this. It's certainly not for most dogs, but for ones that suffer from former abuse or chronic anxiety, things like this definitely help if the dog likes it.
