It’s crazy how James said that bread slicer was highest rated one on Amazon. I wouldn’t use that thing I would be afraid of getting splinters in my food from that disaster.
I can't believe that a useless piece of counter clutter junk made it anywhere past a one star rating. You can't adjust the thickness and most bread comes already sliced that way. When I buy unsliced bread it's usually for other uses like French toast, croutons, or to accompany a soup or stew so I prefer much thicker slices anyway.

@@GoatDust It's a BIG safety concern. Remember the membrane at the back of your throat is very soft. A splinter gets stuck there and it's a trip to the hospital. Even worse if it's a child.
Bamboo was a very poor choice. It’s not that bamboo is a bad wood, but the grain is so long and slivers off easily when cut along it. My bread cutting board is raised rails in a metal base to catch the crumbs and the wood part is oak. There’s no side guides, just the base. If slicing is that important, have the bakery do it in their slicing machine.
As a down to earth Dutch person I can’t for the life of me think why anybody should need a bread slicer aid or a butter grater. I eat sliced bread with butter everyday. Just get a bread knife and slice the bread, use butter at RT and spread with a regular knife. It’s not rocket science!
Supermarkets have bread slicing machines at the bakery counter too, though not so common these days. I can't see the use in a bread slicer either (I'm European too so maybe we just don't need perfect slices!)
The butter stuff is to make a frozen (aka. hard) butter more maleable. As in, it is so that the butter can be left in the fridge all the time when not in use and still be easy to spread. There are obviously workarounds. Cut off a small chunk of butter and leave it out in the open for a few minutes before spreading it, for example. But at least there is an actual function for it. Well, there would be if it did work to make it easier, not harder. The bread slicer though? Yeah. No idea. I assume any bakery can make slices out in the US as well. If you're not buying bread from a bakery, then I'm pretty sure that even US has bread bags that are already sliced, too. And even if not, cutting the bread evenly is more about using a good knife than keeping the angle. And even THEN, there are...actual bread slicers, as in, electric bread saws that will cut the bread evenly, safely AND quickly. This kind of bread slice aid tries to solve a problem that doesn't exist, and even then, fails at it monumentally.

The vacuum reminds me of the Hokey from when I was a teen. (80s - early 90s) It was this contraption on a stick with rollers on the bottom convered in this rough cilia. It worked better on the rug, but you could get the floor pretty clean too by pushing this thing back and forth. There was a little compartment that held the debris. It was for light clean up... like in your video and did a good job... plus it cost next to nothing. Simple things always seem to work better :)
That cardboard cell phone box projector (item #3) reminded me of my 2nd grade elementary school science fair project (a 2 D-cell flashlight with a cardboard tube and convex magnifier lens at the end). My "laser" was far brighter and had a longer range. I might sue for infringement, but the 60 year time lapse might run into statute of limitation issues ... Great review however.
I figured that “3rd grade science project” would get on the list. That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever seen the Brookstone name put on! As I said on the video with the cutting board, there’s a much better one on Amazon that has grips on the bottom and works great. I think I even included the link. I use mine all of the time.
Oh, that's funny. I had a hand crank version of that Icee machine as a kid, and I remember it being terrible then too. I can't believe they tried again with an electric one, and charged something like 2-3x the price!
How do you clean that bread slicer? Wood, especially splintered wood, will harbor bacteria. It should have been probably made of some sort of non porous material...even plastic
@@lisaayers1975 Hmmm... I'm not sure, maybe on high heat. Another quick way is to use a lighter or candle and wave the flame back and forth over the label. Just make sure not to hold it in one spot long enough to burn.
I’ve got a couple folding cutting board like that with rubber on the bottom that doesn’t slide, lays flat, folds easy, that I’ve been using for probably five years. Don’t remember the brand, but I think I paid $5 for it at Marshall’s

If you use the folding cutting board backwards, the smaller end is the perfect size funnel for those clear storage containers!!! You don't even have to take the lid off, just hold the handle in towards the opening and pour your little heart out, 🙃 with little to no spillage!¡!

Our plastic bread slicer was chipped after moving on foot still sliced but awkward angle (when we made bread for a month the wire broke [she always kept next to wall while cooking, wire 3ft long FOR A REASON at least a foot plus away and some slack ]
You should do a 2 hour TV special paid TV advertisement reviewing products giving your honest opinion whether you should buy that "As On TV" product or not.
I agree on bread slicer. Mine was a good quality, looked great, BUT, not worth the size, possible wood splinters, and would come apart while in use. Mine went away. Thank you. Enjoy learning from your reviews.
You need to have Bailey doing something with the countdown numbers. Like holding a number 9 sign, pulling something and then number three comes into frame. Stuff like that.
10:50 there is, you freeze the butter as cold as you can, hold it by the wrapping and grate it with a microplaner as fast as you can before your hand starts to soften it, put it back in the freezer to harden again and repeat. I had to do that when I made mincemeat, because I didn't want to buy suet, and grated butter dusted with flour to form small "grains" of butter is a method for substituting suet. I'm also wondering if you could pulse butter with some starch in a food processor to get that same effect, since it worked when I made oie crumble, and biscuit dough, I found out food processor cuts cold butter into dry ingredients really nicely.
Okay, I'm i'm liking this video, but I did want to say one thing that you were talking about the thing that dispenses the soda. Yeah, it comes out slow so that you're not. If it's coming out fast, the you know what happens when you pour soda fast into a cup. If is up a lot, then overflows. It's coming out slow so that it won't do that, so I think you need to rethink your review on that
I'm in a downsizing mode, so not looking to add much to my household in the way of new products. I even had my freezer hauled away, because I could fit what I have in the side-by-side. I polled my siblings when I needed new shoes, settled on OOFOS.
I was intrigued with that cheaper inkless pen till I watch your original video about it and read the comments. They really aren't the same kind of pens. But hey, at least that Pininfarina pen is heavily discounted. You can get one for $65 now.
All the butter gimmicks aren’t necessary. Butter can be kept in a closed container on the counter. As long as the house isn’t warm, the butter stays soft. I’ve kept butter up to 2 months on the counter.
As I did, you probably wondered what the map pin that was included with the soft drink dispenser was for. It's to make a hole in the bottom of the inverted bottle so air can get in and allow the pressure to equalise. Just means you need to use the entire bottle before it goes flat.
I bought an Icee maker at Walmart years ago, and it was awesome, it works great! You could make an icy out of any kind of soda or drink that you wanted. There was a metal bucket on the inside that you filled with ice and salt you put the lid on that put it inside and then you pour your drink around it and then put the lid on and spin. It worked super fast and was super fun to do.
Thank you for all of your videos - especially the ones on the ice - I have 2 Ice cube trays but since I have other things in my freezer I like the Oxo non spill one and I just bought it on amazon lol.
Instead of the slushy machine, I propose the ZOKU slushy maker, no electricity required, no noise. You store it in the freezer and whenever you want a slushy just pour your favorite fruit juice and stir, in about 10 minutes of relaxing with a cold ZOKU in your hand anywhere, sitting on the patio for example, you get a delicious slushy. If you want comfortable shoes that will keep your feet dry when walking the dog , I suggest VESSI, they look like shoes but act like rainbows without the sweating. Mine hurt a bit at the back but after a few wear it was ok, just wear socks. About the cutting bread, to avoid slipping on the surface, put it on a wet towel, it will move less or very little. I own a regular one and it helps.
my favorite sweet, thank you for sharing… i will have to locate mawa, i am excited to try this. I’ve used the Swadd mix but i would love to make them myself.
Regarding that vacuum broom hybrid, the concept is sound, I've seen that sort of thing work well. Excessive pet hair can be an issue but they work pretty well when made properly. Shark has one a friend has that works nicely. A dedicated vacuum and a decent broom would probably be more effective and faster for most people, but for one device to do all surfaces, especially with mobility issues where that sort of thing is easier than a broom and lighter than a dedicated vacuum, they *can* be good... just not that one.
A homemade projector using a cardboard box and phone can work quite well, but you have to implement it correctly. Using a regular phone or tablet will always fail because it's impossible for such a screen to use enough light. Successful implementations use an old phone screen that has been removed from the phone case so a bright light can shine through from the back. There are tutorials on RUclips on how to do it. Also, if you have a cutting board that slides around when you use it, place it on a folded slightly damp towel to keep it in place.
As someone who collects writing instruments...not for the collecting, but because I can't stop myself from buying new ones, the whole "inkless pen" thing just pisses me off. For one thing, they're pencils, not pens, and there's nothing remotely new about them. If you go to a good art supply shop, you can get ones that are basically a silver rod stuck in the end of a wooden handle. They sell a preparation to apply to the surface you intend to draw on, which I haven't gotten around to trying, but this type of pencil has been around for hundreds of years. The final device, the sweeper, seems like a cheap knock-off of a Bissel sweeper. If that's the sort of floor cleaner you want, get the Bissel--they've been making them forever, and they definitely work better than the thing you reviewed.
I got given that chopping board for free from someone and I love it. Just have to put a damp kitchen towel underneath it to keep it from sliding around.
I got some cheap cutting mats on Amazon, they scratch really bad, but they're just flexible plastic or something, the bottom is textured so they don't slip too much, the only issue is there's no edge to stop liquid from running off. But they can basically roll into an entire funnel if you want and then flatten right out, just make sure you store them flat, I have them stuffed between the box I cover my KitchenAid mixer with, and boxes of ziploc bags and tin foil, so that they're pressed flat but vertical at all times and the plastic doesn't get stressed but keeps flat. I've used them maybe five years now and the only real problem is all the scratches, but it's fine because I've never met a cutting board or mat that doesn't scratch, it does its job.
Number 10: It's so simple even a mensa scholar could do it. That read like those Looney Toons cartoons where they're building something and the instructions spill to fill the room. Number 3: Remember when Sharper Image and Brookstone meant quality. Back in the 90s looking in those catalogs looked like I was looking into the future of tech. Now they just make cheap crap. Number 1: Great example of reinventing the wheel for no reason. Rectangles have been popular since they work. Do they still make Swivel Sweepers? Those were great for a poor kid in a condo with hardwood floors.
Thank you for the great shopping list for in laws.

I've missed a lot of your videos last year. This was a great way to catch up on the flops. Thanks!
For thermal printer labels you can just use a heat gun to turn the whole thing black.
@@lisaayers1975 Hmmm... I'm not sure, maybe on high heat. Another quick way is to use a lighter or candle and wave the flame back and forth over the label. Just make sure not to hold it in one spot long enough to burn.
I use a lighter
@@no_peace Yeah I do that at home sometimes. At work they aren't real down with open flames.
This is a fun video. First time seeing this channel and this guys is funny.
I'm happy that the TJ Maxx projector made the list.
I’ve got a couple folding cutting board like that with rubber on the bottom that doesn’t slide, lays flat, folds easy, that I’ve been using for probably five years. Don’t remember the brand, but I think I paid $5 for it at Marshall’s
Awesome review. Good idea for a comparison video, how about the various electric "Head Shavers". I'm always curious if any of them work
He has done one on shavers, a while back.
@@EmeraldHill-vo1cs
On regular shavers, or head shavers specifically?
Ahh its a while back and not in depth, i think it was mainly face shavers Im getting it mixed up, he does talk about loosing his hair and using head ones recently. But never the full on 4 or 5 rotating head ones. He's on X, tiktok etc.
If you use the folding cutting board backwards, the smaller end is the perfect size funnel for those clear storage containers!!!
You don't even have to take the lid off, just hold the handle in towards the opening and pour your little heart out, 🙃 with little to no spillage!¡!
I love your sports coat. It looks cool.
Thank you for doing these reviews for us. Makes our life a lot easier when trying to decide on something to buy. You have saved me money on items I almost bought but changed my mind after watching your review and your #1 worst product was one I almost bought until I saw your review and then I decided against it. lol. Hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe Holiday season.
1st yr in high school culinary damp towel under cutting board but wood and plastic were used, but your fold-able add a table lock on the end. Our plastic bread slicer was chipped after moving on foot still sliced but awkward angle (when we made bread for a month the wire broke [she always kept next to wall while cooking, wire 3ft long FOR A REASON at least a foot plus away and some slack ]
The Projector would been my number 1.
Not only the worst products. Just the most useless products. Bread slicer? Butter mill? Foldable cutting board? This crap just should not exist.
Temu sandles and boots are great. One pair of boots are my favorite ever
Thanks for the reviews and the laughs. Have a safe and happy holiday season. Henri ( from Australia)
SALT in a Slushee??? Gross. As for the shoes, at leasrlt they'd be great to throw at someone.😂
The icee machine is insanely crazy work.
I was intrigued with that cheaper inkless pen till I watch your original video about it and read the comments. They really aren't the same kind of pens. But hey, at least that Pininfarina pen is heavily discounted. You can get one for $65 now.
That cell phone projector came out years ago as seen on TV product. I don't know anyone who had one but i remember it being advertised 😂
The "projunktor" just made it under the wire for the worst of 2023 episode. 😂
All the butter gimmicks aren’t necessary. Butter can be kept in a closed container on the counter. As long as the house isn’t warm, the butter stays soft. I’ve kept butter up to 2 months on the counter.
I couldn't name one product on this list, the fractal artwork behind you was just too awesome!
Where can I get one??
Love these videos. Shows me what NOT to buy. Merry Christmas James and Happy New Year when it comes.
Making Ice Cream has always been labor intensive.m. Salt, turning etc. Stick with milk products.
I don't know how much you delve into comments, but I just saw an ad for the Granite stone Piezano, and I want you to test it!
The Space Pong might be tolerable if you get liquored up first 🍸
A homemade projector using a cardboard box and phone can work quite well, but you have to implement it correctly.
No#3 the plain box with a lens was my favorite! Someone at that company got a huge promotion! 😂😂😂
I have a cutting board similar to the slap chop and mine works awesomely and I use it all the time with none of these problems.
I use a Sharpie to cover up my address on labels and I used a metal letter opener that works wonderfully 😊
Thanks for letting the world know how many truly crap products are still being foisted upon people!
Merry Christmas James. Thank you for your work.
Lol the vacuuming sweeper sounded like it was just dying the whole time it was on in the video
This is the first review you’ve done that I haven’t felt compelled to buy something. Good job!
