I don't know why this was able to reset my brain the way it did, especially because i don't plan on buying any of these products... Gcap: Remember, for anyone with kids any open bottle is just asking to be knocked over on the carpet, couch, in the car. Anything that reduces that risk is worth it. As for the vitamin water leak, I suspect that was because you probably slightly compressed the plastic bottle when you tipped it over, forcing some of the liquid out. It was still less of a spill than had the top been completely open.
When I heard butter mill I was hoping for something that would let me churn my own butter. But this is probably better and definitely more likely for me to use.
Hey, I think the Amazon reviews for the G cap saying it's hard to drink through could have some science behind it: usually, when you drink from a bottle, the gap around your lips (or the straw) allows air to flow inside the bottle meaning that the density of the air inside the bottle is balanced. If you use the G cap, no air can flow into the bottle to replace the volume of liquid that has been drunk, so the remaining air will drop in density and pressure, meaning you will have to suck way harder through the straw to counteract this. I could foresee this could present problems for young children. Maybe see if you're able to drink a full bottle?
The air will get in through the straw between sips. You would only have a problem with trying to drink a lot in continuous fashion. Also, this is precisely why liquids don't spill, so this is not a bug. This is precisely a feature.
Have had a butter mill since at least 2010...unfortunately not only 1- you have to be careful that it is fully tightened or you can crack the red threaded part, but it's still been worth it to replace it 3 times over the years!

Cool Gadgets! For the slide scoop. I think You have it backwards. Finer powdered will get stuck because they clump and don’t allow air around the grains. Courser powder will allow air around it so it doesn’t get suctioned to the scoop! Tapping it allows air to break the suction on the sides for finer powders!
Always amazing reviews! The slide scoop will be perfect for filling my peppermill with peppercorns! I usually get a piece of paper and make a small funnel.
Totally going to get the butter mill. My mom is awful at hacking at the butter stick, leaving it out or not wrapping back up in wrapper. Also not a fan of spreadable butter she isn't, so this is a go to device!

I lol'ed at the Al Bundy shirt. With today's offense-friendly football rules and videogame scoring though, people won't appreciate how nice 4 rushing TDs in a single game used to be.
Thanks for doing a review of a more kid-focused item, despite having no young children of your own. I'm in the process of adopting my 2 year old nephew (been with me since he was 14 months) and I'm always looking for different drinking options for him because, despite having like a dozen different types of sippy cups, we've not found one we really _love_ or want to commit to just yet. And being that so many are going at like $6+ a pop, it's not something we want to keep throwing money away on. He is able to use straws already though and seems to be pretty good at it so this gives us another direction and a wide variety for it to work on.
I haven't used the dish thingie, but I'm fairly certain I know why you're having dispensing problems. When you press the button it reduces the volume inside the handle, which increases pressure to force some soap out. The more soap in the handle the less air there is, and since liquids aren't really compressible you're going to force far more soap out when it's filled to the brim. When it's almost empty the air inside it is being compressed, which barely changes the pressure and as a result almost no soap comes out.
I got a sponge dish wand for $10, but you can connect new sponge heads when they wear out, or use softer or rougher sponges to it, making it more flexible. The extra sponges ARE available, and the wand has no "switch", but just diffuses through the sponge, releasing more soap the harder you push. I love it!
Thank you! The GCaps have worked perfectly for us. We used them as much if not more than the no spill cups and carry a set in the car for road trips now.
I played bass in bands for 25+ years and I can say without a doubt that Geezer Butler was one of my biggest influences as a rock bassist. Love the shirt!

That butter mill looks like a phenomenal solution for anyone who can't use a butter bell for whatever reason. My issue is I can't have dairy and I don't think nondairy butter keeps as well at room temperature, so having some alternative means of spreading it without tearing up the bread is a game changer.
@@emmamcdonald3410 A butter bell is like an upside down jar for butter that uses a water seal to keep butter from oxidizing or going rancid. The reason you’d want one is that is allows you to keep butter out on the counter, which keeps it at a temperature that’s easier to spread. The problem with a butter bell is that because it holds your butter upside down over a bit of water, if the butter isn’t the right consistency it can actually fall into said water. For this reason it’s not recommended to store butter substitutes in a butter bell. Plus those substances aren’t necessarily okay to leave out at room temperature the same way that butter is, so you run the risk of spoiling your spread.
@@danielleanderson6371 well if u dat gross to use butter substitues buy a fridge!!!!!! and a butter dish serves the entire world perfectly haha except u americans get a grip

G Cap would be so handy in the car. I tend to buy a juice to drink on the drive home from the shops and like to drink from a straw. This would hold the straw nicely and if I take a corner sharply don’t have to worry about juice all over my car.
That seems like a lot of detergent coming out of that dispenser. I wonder if you thinned it out a bit with water if it would still work ok. Pure detergent seems like such a waste, way too much soap coming out. There's also a stainless steel butter spreader knife on the market that has holes along the blade and you get thin butter curls with half the mess of that dispenser. You just scrape the knife across the butter and it forms thin curls to make it easy to spread. This plastic dispenser seems like it would be a real chore to get clean.
Wet your knife and butter won’t stick. Same with ice cream scoop to keep ice cream from sticking. Haven’t you ever wondered why ice cream parlors always keep their scoops in a gross bucket of water?
I like that slide scoop. I use a small funnel, but the opening is too small and powders clog up, just like you showed, but worse. It's hard to find a small funnel with a wide exit.
Scrub brush real life long term review: • still can’t find bristle refills, but the sponge refills fit this wand as well. • doesn’t leak like some of the old school scrub brushes do, but it dispenses way to much soap each time, in my opinion. • when soap gets to like 1/3 full, it doesn’t dispense correctly, my guess is because of the lack of pressure of being full. The old models had a physical plug that lifted when you dispensed soap, but thats also what caused them to leak • long term review- the rubber where you press to dispense soap pulls away from the body of the wand and THAT caused leakage
You should have dipped the butter mill in a bowl of hot water to warm up the edges of the stick of butter then put a paper towel on your counter and tap the stick out onto the paper towel.
I could see that Dishwand thingie with a couple of plastic water basins (wash, rinse) for dishwashing, mostly when car-camping or long trips where you might do "serial picnicking" for several meals along the road. I'm not sure most families can handle all-day road tripping these days though.
That gcap could be a handy little tool, im honestly shocked at all the comments about the butter mill, ive seen those since the mid 90s at least, probably even before that realistically
As far as the butter goes, it probably depends on the brand of butter that you’re buying. Some might be a lot more difficult to dispense that way but I’m glad to see that it works. That’s why the reviews are not always a best representation because they really should’ve mentioned what brand of butter they were using
@@CodyCookBrent Yes I know he showed that he was using Land O Lakes butter I am stating if you see my comment that the reviews cannot be taken at face value because everybody uses a different brand of butter therefore the size of the sticks are different
I use one hand held rotary cheese grater for butter and another one for cheese. I have them both in own tightly closed container in the fridge. That way they do not need to be washed after each use, they are ready to use. It is easy to get desired dose over a pasta plate, the rest remain ready in the fridge for the next use.
I had a similar soap brush in college and loved it, it was off brand (like dollar store) and never leaked and never had an issue with too much soap. Mine also had a smaller head so it worked much better, its perfect for dorm-like situations
Butter Mill is my pick. The rest I can think of what I already have in my kitchen would work just as well. Thanks for the new video. I love gadgets. 🥂 Cheers for a Happy New Year.
Regarding the butter mill, this is a situation where they really should use completely opaque plastic. Butter degrades with exposure to light (hence why it comes in foil/tubs).
I think it's probably for pots and pans. I love the butter melt. There are cups for kids that are spill proof, however I will use if I was using it while at a computer or at work something like that. I really like them all.
You have forgotten about the best kitchen tool ever. This forgotten kitchen tool would be perfect for getting the larger stick of butter in the tube. Best tool: Sledge-o-matic!
scrape along one side (I.e., top) of the stick or block. Same thickness of butter or cream cheese as with the device. Scoop funnel: sounds fun for filling spice jars from larger packages, though a funnel would work as well. Bottle cap: only one that seems especially useful -- for kids, or hydrating while driving on road trips. The others are pretty much landfill fodder. Oh, and for the dish wand, dilute the soap you put in it.
Thanks for the Geezer suggestion! I hadn't listen to him before! ...other than Sabbath...I'm lovin his solo stuff! ...still waiting to hear some your playing on this channel! It would make a cool intro!
I can't tell if he doesn't understand basic physics or if he tries so hard to be unbiased he ignores every possible variable that might influence his expectations.
I put my dish soap in a decorative bottle, so I only put half the bottle with dish soap and half water. It thickens back up. Maybe if you dilute the soap it won’t be too soapy. Oddly enough, it never seems like it is diluted. If I plan to put water in the sink, I might use a little more. But, you really don’t need to. Most of us don’t wash dishes and only need a little to wash a few pans and wipe off the counter, etc. Try this to save on dish soap. I looked for a pretty bottle of wine, drank the wine, and used the bottle for dish soap. You can buy stoppers in kitchen stores or even the grocery store.

Question! Would the slide scoop work for liquids? Or would they leak out even before sliding the stopper out of the way?
I was wondering the same thing.
I love the Al Bundy shirt.😆
" Four touchdowns in a single game" 👍
Scrub brush real life long term review:
• still can’t find bristle refills, but the sponge refills fit this wand as well.
• doesn’t leak like some of the old school scrub brushes do, but it dispenses way to much soap each time, in my opinion.
• when soap gets to like 1/3 full, it doesn’t dispense correctly, my guess is because of the lack of pressure of being full. The old models had a physical plug that lifted when you dispensed soap, but thats also what caused them to leak
• long term review- the rubber where you press to dispense soap pulls away from the body of the wand and THAT caused leakage
That’s why the reviews are not always a best representation because they really should’ve mentioned what brand of butter they were using
He showed and said he was using land of lakes butter
@@CodyCookBrent Yes I know he showed that he was using Land O Lakes butter I am stating if you see my comment that the reviews cannot be taken at face value because everybody uses a different brand of butter therefore the size of the sticks are different
4 touchdowns in one game... I see you are a man of class.
I found butter on a 1 way street and lost it on a lonely corn cob! Great video as always James! 👍
I use one hand held rotary cheese grater for butter and another one for cheese. I have them both in own tightly closed container in the fridge. That way they do not need to be washed after each use, they are ready to use. It is easy to get desired dose over a pasta plate, the rest remain ready in the fridge for the next use.
Just wanted to comment that your shirt is AWESOME! Nobody messes with a Bundy
You could've waited a little while and the room temperature butter would've been good to go
I think with brushes you don't need to fill it with only soap. It seems they design it to be mixed with water it work better.
With all the love I have for Lord Iommi (named my son after him), its good to see some love for Butler as well. Love the shirt.
The Geezer Butler shirt was the icing on an already great video!
I had a similar soap brush in college and loved it, it was off brand (like dollar store) and never leaked and never had an issue with too much soap. Mine also had a smaller head so it worked much better, its perfect for dorm-like situations
The butter mill would be better if it had thickness adjustment! A little, of course, to be practical.
Holy crap! Much love for Geezer Butler. All hail! Fabulous.
I love the idea of whoever lives with him going into the fridge and being like…why is there a pile of butter here???
Love when the music came in with the bread. Hollywood stuff Mr White
Butter Mill is my pick. The rest I can think of what I already have in my kitchen would
work just as well. Thanks for the new video. I love gadgets. 🥂 Cheers for a Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you as well! 😃

Regarding the butter mill, this is a situation where they really should use completely opaque plastic. Butter degrades with exposure to light (hence why it comes in foil/tubs).
I think I might get one of those butter mills. Thanks, man.
😂😂😂 Bread and butter... CHOMP!!
This guy is so funny!!
Love The Geezer Tee!!!! one of my BASS Heros
I can just see people who are younger asking Alexa what a sledge-o-matic is. Thanks for the laughs!
I've used a version of the dishwand that has a sponge instead of a brush, much better for every day use.
Loved the AL Bundy shirt! Great reviews as always.
scrape along one side (I.e., top) of the stick or block.
I like your Joey Borrow shirt! 😀 (i spent time a lot of time in Athens, OH)
Love the kitchen stuff!
Thanks for the Geezer suggestion! I hadn't listen to him before! ...other than Sabbath...I'm lovin his solo stuff! ...still waiting to hear some your playing on this channel! It would make a cool intro!
Geezer Butler ROCKS.
Love the Geezer shirt. Rock on!
I can't tell if he doesn't understand basic physics or if he tries so hard to be unbiased he ignores every possible variable that might influence his expectations.
I have the scrubbing brush in sponge form and it’s legit the best for someone who haaaaates touching wet, smelly dish rags.
For dishes I just have several bottle brushes and I use a regular hand soap dispenser to dispense dish soap onto stuff. It works great
Room temperature butter was easier than cold?! No! Who would have guessed that?!
🤣🤣
I put my dish soap in a decorative bottle, so I only put half the bottle with dish soap and half water. It thickens back up. Maybe if you dilute the soap it won’t be too soapy. Oddly enough, it never seems like it is diluted. If I plan to put water in the sink, I might use a little more. But, you really don’t need to. Most of us don’t wash dishes and only need a little to wash a few pans and wipe off the counter, etc. Try this to save on dish soap. I looked for a pretty bottle of wine, drank the wine, and used the bottle for dish soap. You can buy stoppers in kitchen stores or even the grocery store.
slide scoop works great for kool aid and lemonade in the big canisters
