Sounds like some great spring reading!!

Thank you 🌷🌸🌼
Thank you 🌷🌸🌼
Love the idea of a Cornish book vlog! I recently read Far From the Madding Crowd and Agnes Grey, both were great reads. Thomas Hardy, in particular, does such beautiful depictions of English countryside ♡
I’m excited to do it - there are so many beloved books set in Cornwall so I’m excited to finally read some. ☺️
I really need to read more Thomas Hardy!
Great list that you have! I trust you will enjoy them. I will be adding Blue Castle, I love Anne of green gables. I will try to read To the Lighthouse, struggled with it and gave up. But I am determined to try again and to finish it.
Enjoy your books and the lovely Spring weather.
I hope you enjoy the Blue Castle when you get to it! I’ve heard that To the Lighthouse is a bit of a challenging read, but I’m hoping the fact that it’s short makes it feel a bit more manageable! 😅
Adding the Blue Castle to my list! It looks so good and I loved Anne of Green Gables. One of my favorite spring reads is the Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia! It’s a period romance with a dash of fantasy.
Period Romance + Fantasy is the perfect blend 😍 thanks for the recommendation, and I hope you enjoy the Blue Castle!
💖
Jen, these are lovely titles to look forward to - some I haven't read/heard of and look forward to exploring in my Aussie spring (come September) :).
I hope you enjoy An Enchanted April and To The Lighthouse, two hugely favourite novels of mine, but both very different :D
I feel like Jane Austen is always a good one to pick up during Spring!
I am currently reading the Enchanted April at the moment and really enjoying it. It’s so charming🌼. Thank you for being one of the people who recommended it to me 💛
I hope you are enjoying your autumn 🍂
Hi Jen, looks like some great books on your TBR list. I too have the same Earthsea book and have so far only read the first story, I must get back to it. Currently I'm reading Great Expectations by Dickens, previously read Jane Eyre which I really enjoyed. Happy reading😊
I definitely enjoyed the second earthsea book more than the first one, so I’m intrigued to see how it will continue on! I hope you’re enjoying Great Expectations!
I enjoyed The Feast. Took a little while to get into the story but it was interesting. I’m looking forward to The Blue Castle. I’m glad to hear that it’s enjoyable. I loved Anne of Green Gables.
I’ve actually heard a few people say The Feast was a bit hard to get into, so I hope I don’t find it too challenging! 😅
@@readerinareverie No, it’s relatively straightforward, not tons of detail like Dickens or something. And pretty short.
I always look forward to your videos
I will be interested to see what you think of ‘The Feast’ as I had so much hope for that book but didn’t really understand or enjoy it when I came to read it.
And also ‘Anne of Windy Poplars’ - I stopped reading Anne of GG half way through that book asI didn’t enjoy it very much - I really do hope you have more luck though and I would hope that the series picks up again in the later books - maybe I will give it another go soon as could be I just wasn’t in the right mood when I read it.
I would recommend the book ‘The Lamplighters’ - it is a book that has stuck with me, a little more of an eerie thriller set in a lighthouse (I think off the coast of Cornwall, though I may be mistaken with the county) it definitely has a coastal setting - obviously. Could be suited to an Autumn or Winter read though as it is quite stormy 😊
Aww thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰
The Lamplighters sounds so interesting - I do love a stormy coastal setting, and a thriller set in a lighthouse sounds so good! Thanks for the recommendation! ☺️
The Lake House by Kate Morton is a mistery also set in Cornwall.
I haven’t read anything by Kate Morton before but have been recently thinking of trying one, so I’ll have to look into this one ☺️
I always enjoy and learn much from your videos. Two of my book recommendations: "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith, and "Possession" by A.S. Byatt (though might be better read in Autumn)
Thank you so much ☺️ I definitely need to read I Capture the Castle at some point!
Ok I feel like we're the same person? 🙈 We have the same reading taste and I'm currently reading The Enchanted April because I missed reading it in April last year. 🥲
Haha I love that 😂 and it’s so funny I literally can only allow myself to read The Enchanted April in April, so it’s got to be done this month or another year will go by 🙈
