Glad to hear you're feeling better, Gareth. I wouldn't pay those prices for brand names either. To me the supermarket's own are just as good! A very happy Christmas to you and your family
Hi Gareth. I hope you are much better by Christmas Day, if not sooner. I have tried various chicken soups and find Aldi perfectly acceptable, but I always add a grind of black pepper. And I thoroughly recommend Aldi's Lentil Soup. Have a great Christmas 🙏
I feel the pain Gareth. I was in London for a few days last week, came back on the Thursday. Friday night showed symptoms of a cold brewing. Saturday morning it was like swallowing razor blades, and it got worse from there before it got better. I tested negative for covid though, and I would would say that at the time of writing this a week later, I'm maybe 70-80% there. I didn't lose much in the way of taste and smell, so basically stuffed myself with comfort food like pizza and curry - that sorts throats out! I don't really bother with lemsips or the cheaper equivalents, and instead just take regular paracetamol as it's all the same stuff. Warm lemonade and honey is a good drink to soothe the throat, and menthol crystals in hot water does wonders. It's the lack of sleep that gets me and when you do finally drop off, waking up feeling like death warmed up until you get that first cuppa' down you and some breakfast! Fingers crossed we're as fit as can be be for Christmas day, all the best mate!
Very nice to see you, you have just made my week. Yes the cold/flu is terrible been fighting it from Monday, should be ok in the next few days. Thank you for these incredible videos, believe me they are so helpful.
You're a REAL man compered to ME Gareth mate! 😉 I've had (it seems) the same bug as you for the last 10 days, yet I'm still wimping about doing little, let alone making my usual RUclips videos. All respect to you mate! I'm off to get some of that chicken soup now - thanks for doing the comparison for us. Regards, Dave
Yay Gareth. Nice to see you back. Heinz prices are a joke. I have no time for brand snobs, it would even be a dating red flag for me in the day. Birds Eye products are also pretty horrible too, these days. Looking forward to a new Aldi being built locally.

Had a cold on an off for a few weeks so you have my sympathy ! Weirdly before I ‘spotted’ this video , we had a mug of the Aldi chicken soup and found it very nice. Chicken soup supposedly actually does help fight a cold 🤞Hope you have a great Christmas as thanks for all these great videos this year!
Hi Gareth Ive been suffering form the same bug that you caught and its wiped me out for nearly a week. Thanks to your soup comparison I managed to eat some Tomato soup today, first thing Ive eaten for nearly a week! Thanks for your great videos mate . Get the taste buds bacon tune for Christmas Day !
Great video Gareth, glad you're getting better. Should be recovered by Christmas thankfully. When it comes to chicken soup, I got for the ASDA economy for 24p, its really good and a bargain.
First of all wishing you and the family a Merry Christmas 🎄 I had a quick look at the video yesterday but had a better look at it this morning and apart from the I feel having watched a few of your videos now that the gap between branded and unbranded food is getting closer. Just as a final thing is I would like to thank you so much for the Christmas party chat we had last night. I am so glad you came on RUclips as I find your information from you has given me so much advice about certain products when I go shopping. All the very best and please carry on doing a fantastic job in 2023.
I no longer buy Heinz soups now, Aldi is my first choice but I have yet to try the chicken. As you say, chicken soup always makes you feel better when you are ill! Glad to see you up and about😊
All over the Middle East and many Mediterranean countries make a chicken lemon soup. It's very lemony and it's delicious and apparently can cure ANYTHING!
Hi Gareth, you need to try Knor crab and sweetcorn soup, just add an egg to it and it's just like your Chinese restaurant soup, just recovering from what you've had, as you say seems like everyone is going down with it, take care and a merry Christmas to you and your family mate.
Aww bless you Gareth I’ve had this awful flu for over two weeks now hope you feel better soon and I hope you and family have a wonderful Christmas and new year xx
Here in Texas, Campbell's and Progresso are the two big brands, though I think Heinz may still sell soups here also. Not popular. So much Campbell's, the condensed kind, is used for cooking. Usually the 'store brands' are pretty good, too. I've used leftover rotisserie chicken, minced up or cubed up, then mixed with a can of this type of soup 'cause the chicken's pretty scarce!
One thing you can get in America but not here are the large cartons of chicken bone broth, which must be delicious when one is feeling poorly. The nearest equivalent I can think of in the UK is the Knorr chicken stock gel which you mix with boiling water. I've never been to the US, but I've watched The Pioneer Woman shows a lot and Ree Drummond uses chicken broth or stock quite a bit in her cooking.
@@SuperLittleTyke I expect the multimillionairess Drummond makes her own as I do. Why buy processed junk when it's so easy to make? And more expensive?
Strangely enough the Campbells Condensed in America doesn't contain garlic but the Campbells in England does. Imagine me bringing it home in my suitcase I have to limit myself so I can use it for Hash Brown Casserole
Bramwell’s soups are excellent and cheap! ✨ Great vlog! 💥 I chuckled when you chuckled when you said ‘They’re both as thick as each other!’ 🤣🤣🤣 Glad you’re feeling better! 💥
Good to see you back on camera again. Your voice does sound a little sore still. Hope you'll soon be back to 100 per cent again very soon. Thanks once more for another good video.
I've been buying a lot of these Bramwells Chicken Soups just lately (only because the Bramwells Tomato Soup has been out of stock for the last fortnight!), and like you say it's really nice. I've noticed that a lot of supermarkets seem to have Heinz soups on offer for about £1 nowadays which to be honest, is still a rip off when you can get the Bramwells at the price that it is 👍
It seems like only the ones who believed all the guff and were told by their tellies to have the experimental jaberoonies get sick these days. I've not had a sniffle in 4 years....touch wood! Love your stuff mate, get well soon & Merry Christmas!
I worked in the factory where these soups were made. The Bramwell Chicken Soup is made by Heinz on the same production lines as their own brand and with all the same ingredients. The recipe itself is only very slightly different though nothing you could really tell apart.
Hiya Gareth. Pleased your on the mend. I'm straight over from you in North Yorkshire and everyones got this cold. I had a good drink yesterday, stella was my chosen tipple and it worked a treat for me. So much so I might have to have a top up today for medicinal purposes. 😉👍. Great video. Aldi tins for me all the time. Looking forward to tomorrow mate 👍 I'm usually out and about but getting a bit old for all that carry on now. 🤣
Welcome back Gareth, love chicken soup but i dont buy Heinz anymore because of the cost.If you can you should try Cross and Blackwells Winter Vegetable soup, its unbelievably tasty and a lot cheaper than Heinz.
Hi Gareth, you still sound a bit rough but look alot better than you did. I drink slice fresh lemon with a little finely chopped ginger with honey and hot water. I haven't come down with anything yet (touch wood)lol Hope you feel better for Christmas or not before... Happy Christmas everyone
Massive difference in price. I prefer to make my own soup from the chicken carcass, boiling the carcass, remove bones, add vegetables, bring to boil until vegetables are cooked blitz in blender or with wand add cream and season to acquired taste and serve. I always have tinned soups as an emergency backup. However, after watching your videos, I've started buying the Bramwells brand in Aldi. I personally find it as good as the dearer brands. I'll be quite honest if it hadn't been for you're videos I wouldn't have tried the Bramwell brand, so I've been educated and saved myself money, many thanks and you and your family have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I have now started to buy my soups at a fraction of the cost from Aldi. I can recommend Aldi's mushroom, tomato, pea & ham and vegetable soups. Nice and thick, packed with flavour. £1.40 for a tin of Heinz soup, you're having a giraffe. BFG nice video as usual. Can I suggest a comparison with Aldi's large tubs of their yogurts? Try the cherry, strawberry, or passion fruits all thick and creamy, with bags of fruit. Yummy.
Hope you are feeling better soon, Gareth. I wish you and your family a happy Christmas and New Year. Hoping to move to Cumbria in the new year and might see you whilst out and about. I would go for Aldi every time with the soup. Pound for pound the best value and taste.
I love watching the videos. I hadn't bought soup for ages, but bought a few tins from Tesco recently. I just opened the Tesco own brand cream of chicken soup & it was absolutely awful - nothing like it used to be. I just looked to see if you had reviewed it but couldn't see if you had. Maybe do a review....see what you think?
I warm up my soups in a cheap microwavable 'ASDA George Home Soup Mug' - easy to heat in the microwave, and easier to eat from when compared to an actual soup bowl.
Get well soon, Gareth. I can tell you've still got the bug. Love chicken soup. Nice comparison. I love the Heinz chicken soup. Just bought 8 for £6.00. Cheers.
Hello Gareth, I'm amazed you could taste it with that bug. Pepper would act as a decongestant, it's the broth you need, to do you 💞 good. God bless you and keep you 💞
Good to see you're feeling better, sir. My wife swears by chicken soup when either of us isn't well. You now need to do a 'medicinal' whisky, honey and lemon comparison!
Glad you're on the mend, and just in time for Christmas. I had it last week & spent 48 hours in bed (which I never do!). Bramwell's soup range is great. My go to option for sure. See you Friday night
Garath. Glad you didn't run afowl in this soup video and you were not too striken to rate this chicken (soup). I give this review four clucks out of five. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
Hi Gareth, cream of chicken and cream of tomato are two of my favourite soups, glad you're starting to feel much better, I reckon you'll be feeling just fine come Christmas. There is a big price difference and the more expensive one is certainly not worth the money, I'd rather the cheaper brand and save some money since there's not a lot of taste difference.
Morning Gareth another oldie I am catching up on as love your vlogs. Sorry you weren't feeling to good when you did the vlog a year ago. I am not mad on chicken soup prefer veg and chicken soup not so thick. Just shows hardly any difference apart from the cost. Thank you for the great vlog enjoyed it.
Knorr chicken noddle soup is one I always have when unwell, had a number of them lately as like many been very unwell for the last 11 days and only just getting some smell and taste back. Heinz used to be a good brand and value for money, but with all the new cheaper brands around I am surprised Heinz have not also revisited there business model and adapted to current consumers spending habits. Your videos have helped me not only save money but also discover new foods. Thank you. Hopefully your health continues to improve so you and family can enjoy Christmas period. Stay groovy :)
I love soups. It doesn’t bother me what brand it is I will eat any soup, the cheaper the better but the husband has his preference for campbells soups.
Pre lockdown, I had butternut squash soup in a restaurant for the first time. I'd never fancied it before but it was nice. Shortly afterwards I saw a Crosse & Blackwell can on offer, so I took a chance. Very nice. That prompted me to try other soups in their range. Prior to that I tended to buy Baxters. The C&B Winter veg is one that now has a permanent place in my stock cupboard, and when I ventured to try their Cream of Roast Chicken soup I was very impressed. I continue to buy it. It is currently £1.20 bought from Morrisons. I had tried Morrisons own brand tomato soup and liked that, so last week I tried their chicken soup (85p). Not bad, but I prefer the C&B. I'm still online shopping, but when I do decide to pop in a supermarket to buy in person, I might try Aldi and Bramwell - I've tried their condiments in the past.
Well come back you've got a adams family look about you 90s version .i thought the videos weren't recent like still watched it. You +family Have a good Christmas
Good to see you back on your feet Gaz first day up for myself aswell and fortunately I finish the antibiotics on Xmas eve as not drinking over Xmas would be worse than this bloody flu bug. See you Friday for the live mate 👍
Heya Gareth glad to see your up and feeling better and ypur taste has come back🙏 I've had the flu for 2 and half weeks and am now alot better and have my taste smell back after 9days without it Bramwells soup are such good value and taste lovely❤️
Make your own chicken soup with the carcass. I used to do that when I lived in a tent, simmering away on my wood burner. Such better flavour than tinned stuff.
*Shocking but very useful to know* 🙌👍🎄🎄🎄 Hope you are improving, though still sound rough. P.s- I sometimes like to add a bit of mashed potatoes to my soup
Hey.. Up and running again Gareth 👍😀. Mate, chicken soup is just what the Doctor ordered. That'll help readjust back to normal. Both soups look as good as each other. But that price tag on Heinz is a budget killer. I'd definitely buy the cheaper because I wouldn't want my wallet to get sick too. Another fine review today Gareth. I hope you're fully charged for the live blog. Cheers 👍🤤😀
Glad you're feeling better Gareth. Both me and my son who is now back living with us have both had this virus, it really does take some getting over. I was about 2 weeks till I felt about 90% right, but my son is still not good after 3 weeks, as you say, it knocks you for 6. I swear by the Bramwell's chicken soup. Just needs a dash of black pepper for me, but I prefer it to the Heinz because they have made it too highly seasoned and it repeats on me. On that point, when my son was first ill with this virus, all he fancied to eat was chicken soup, so went to Aldi but they had run out of the Bramwell's so ended up having to go to a Tesco Express where I had to pay £1.60 for a tin of Heinz. My son ate about half of it, then said he had to leave it because it was repeating on him. The Bramwell's definitely gets my vote.
Love making homemade soup, but on occasions it's nice to open a can of ready-made, and Bramwells' chicken soup is very tasty. Good to see you back, but you still look a bit peaky, a bowl of hot soup is the best comfort food when you're feeling unwell, I hope you recover very soon, all the very best.
Glad your feeling better Gareth I’ve missed your reviews, there doesn’t seem to be much difference in those soups so I’ll be buying the cheaper one. Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 and happy New Year to you and your family, have the best xmas 😊 xx
Wow Foodie guy,We've just got over that horrible Cold,it took 3weeks to feel better,we must have had chicken Soup nearly every day,the Heinze hurt me eyes, looking for the chicken, xmas Blessings
The last time I bought Heinz soup was about 10 years ago when they did offers of 3 tins for £1. I am sure they changed their ingrididiants about 10 years ago too so just stopped buying them. Whatever happened to mulligatawny soup can't get it anywhere in any brand.
Since watching one of your previous when you tasted veg soup which included tesco an hienz, I am a tesco soup convert at less than half the price of hienz. So thank you buddy ,hope you get better soon an have a merry Christmas and a Happy New year 🎉
This time last year these were 31p at both Aldi and Lidl, slow rise over the year then both supermarkets relabelled and since then have shot up another 15p in unison. Still good value though
Reading all these comments must make you see how very much you're appreciated, Gareth! We love you, mate, and look forward to you being properly well again. Take lots of Christmas care of yourself and your family.
Yes your all brilliant out there
Wow! I'm amazed at how much difference there is between them both. Thanks for trying them both and saving us some money!

Hello Gareth, I'm amazed you could taste it with that bug. Pepper would act as a decongestant, it's the broth you need, to do you 💞 good. God bless you and keep you 💞
Cheers Mary, Merry Christmas 🤶🤶🤶👍❤️
Good to see you're feeling better, sir. My wife swears by chicken soup when either of us isn't well. You now need to do a 'medicinal' whisky, honey and lemon comparison!
Thanks for the tip
Glad you're on the mend, and just in time for Christmas. I had it last week & spent 48 hours in bed (which I never do!). Bramwell's soup range is great. My go to option for sure. See you Friday night
Cheers, yes getting there slowly 👍👍🎅🎅
Garath.
Glad you didn't run afowl in this soup video and you were not too striken to rate this chicken (soup).
I give this review four clucks out of five.
Cheers and Merry Christmas.
Haha like what you done there, Merry Christmas 🎅🎅👍
Hi Gareth, cream of chicken and cream of tomato are two of my favourite soups, glad you're starting to feel much better, I reckon you'll be feeling just fine come Christmas. There is a big price difference and the more expensive one is certainly not worth the money, I'd rather the cheaper brand and save some money since there's not a lot of taste difference.
Cheers James. Yes can't go wrong with soup when your under the weather. Merry Christmas pal 🎅🎅, hope I do 👍
Morning Gareth another oldie I am catching up on as love your vlogs. Sorry you weren't feeling to good when you did the vlog a year ago. I am not mad on chicken soup prefer veg and chicken soup not so thick. Just shows hardly any difference apart from the cost. Thank you for the great vlog enjoyed it.
Stay hydrated Gareth! You'll heal faster. Feel well soon! Great review 👍
Cheers Ted, will do 👍👍
Knorr chicken noddle soup is one I always have when unwell, had a number of them lately as like many been very unwell for the last 11 days and only just getting some smell and taste back.
Thank you Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅
Thank you, Merry Christmas 👍👍

Make your own chicken soup with the carcass. I used to do that when I lived in a tent, simmering away on my wood burner. Such better flavour than tinned stuff.
Great idea!
*Shocking but very useful to know* 🙌👍🎄🎄🎄
Hope you are improving, though still sound rough.
P.s- I sometimes like to add a bit of mashed potatoes to my soup
Cheers Glenda, Merry Christmas 🤶🤶🤶👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy merry Christmas to you and your family have a wonderful time. 💙💝🙏🏻🎄🎄
Get well soon Gaz. Love your videos. Merry Christmas 🎅
Thank you kindly, Merry Christmas 👍👍
Cheers 👍🤤😀
Cheers John, yes nearly there pal, feeling better than I did for sure. Can't beat chicken soup when feeling under the weather. Merry Christmas 🐔🎅🎅🎅
@@BaldFoodieGuy Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a good one mate. 🎁🎄👍😀
Hope you all get better pal, Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅
Love making homemade soup, but on occasions it's nice to open a can of ready-made, and Bramwells' chicken soup is very tasty. Good to see you back, but you still look a bit peaky, a bowl of hot soup is the best comfort food when you're feeling unwell, I hope you recover very soon, all the very best.
Cheers Chris Merry Christmas 🎅🎅🎅
totally agree with you gareth
Glad your feeling better Gareth I’ve missed your reviews, there doesn’t seem to be much difference in those soups so I’ll be buying the cheaper one. Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 and happy New Year to you and your family, have the best xmas 😊 xx
Cheers Iris, Merry Christmas 🤶🤶👌
I must admit I prefer the Aldi and Lidl soups instead of the Heinz one.
Hope you're feeling better by Christmas Day.
Wow Foodie guy,We've just got over that horrible Cold,it took 3weeks to feel better,we must have had chicken Soup nearly every day,the Heinze hurt me eyes, looking for the chicken, xmas Blessings
Cheers pal yes still got it but it's slowly going now. Merry Christmas 🎅🎅

Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year
Merry Christmas 🤶🤶👍
Gareth another great video aldi do a lovely range of soups
So pleased you are getting better Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year
Cheers Brian, Merry Christmas 🎅🎅
The last time I bought Heinz soup was about 10 years ago when they did offers of 3 tins for £1. I am sure they changed their ingrididiants about 10 years ago too so just stopped buying them. Whatever happened to mulligatawny soup can't get it anywhere in any brand.
Oh I wish they were them prices again 😊👍
Love your channel 🎉
Thank you so much!!
Since watching one of your previous when you tasted veg soup which included tesco an hienz, I am a tesco soup convert at less than half the price of hienz. So thank you buddy ,hope you get better soon an have a merry Christmas and a Happy New year 🎉
Cheers Chris, Merry Christmas 🎅🎅👍
I could eat half a loaf of bread with a can of chicken soup.... love the stuff... Going to check out that Aldi stuff now
Cheers Tony 👍👍yes got to be done
This time last year these were 31p at both Aldi and Lidl, slow rise over the year then both supermarkets relabelled and since then have shot up another 15p in unison. Still good value though
How are you doing I hope you're ok Keep up the good work 👏 I like chicken soup too
