As a Texan, where we're famous for our slow cooked beef brisket, I've found the mistake is expecting frozen stuff like this to taste like that cooked 14+ hours in a smoke pit. Different foods. But--everyone isn't in range as we are here, to have real slow cooked beef, chicken and pork (and sometimes turkey). These frozen manufactured foods can be an acceptable substitute. Great video!
The thumbnail was awesome.. looked like you were having a beefgasm 🤣 but in all seriousness.. love your video's always an honest and no bs review.. keep on keeping on 👍
Thanks so much for this review ..It looks tasty ..might have to give it a go . Love that thumbnail , you couldn't have timed it better lol !!! Look forward to the live on Friday x
I've had this and I agree it is delicious. Doesn't look a lot but I found it very filling. Didn't bother pulling it apart, I just sliced it like a beef joint.
Dusty is very sad to not receiving this said dish you like. It looks fantastic indeed but to me its a memory and buy it again. Wife and kids want it also. Cheers M8
Gareth Brisket is a cut of beef that comes from the lower breast or pectoral muscles of a cow. Because this area is so well-exercised, it makes for quite a tough piece of meat that's full of connective tissue. This is why it has to be cooked slowly otherwise would be tough and chewy. It's great for BBQ the Yanks smoke it for hours. It is delicious and not well known in the UK as in the US. Jewish people been cooking it for hundreds of years and introduced it to the USA.
Foodie, many years ago(early 80's) my local Chinese takeaway had a Shredded Pork dish and to this day I have not found anything that came close to the taste of that dish, it was quite simply divine 🤤
TGI Fridays is great if you want to be pestered by a grown up behaving like a 5 year old. Who then has to bring you your food and be really cheerful and helpful. I went there once, 30 years ago. I'm still recovering.
ive been watching you for along time but never commented before .. so i just wanted to say how brilliant your page is and thank you for all you bring to us .. best channel on youtube by far .. keep going fella 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi there, another great video from you. Keep up the good work. This does look good. I haven’t done many of these products but do need to have a great review from you.
Another video I missed 🥴🥴. Last month I bought a small beef brisket from Aldi. It was on the reduced shelf so it was well priced, ( well below £6 ). I just stuck it my freezer. A couple of weeks later I cooked it in my slow cooker for 6 hrs with some red wine and veg. It was lovely. On another shop I bought a pulled beef meal, ( also well below £6 ), and to be honest it was also lovely and cooked in half the time. I’m not a lover of all the American sauces that come with these meals, so I tend to leave them off, maybe add a bit of red wine or Guinness to the mix. So all in all this is a great buy. A great review, sorry I missed it.🤔🥴🤔.
I would serve it with Red cabbage including apple and a few cloves (best removed before serving). Find a German recipe or check out your supermarket frozen veg. Plus creamy mash.
Absolut quality, thanks soo much for that, am havin it, this weekend...cracking review....gonna add, a little bit of j.d. ,to mine....can't go wrong with this....regards mark...
Have u tried from aldi "Oakhurst - chicken King kebab- peri peri "they are amazing too plenty of meat on them too with a good kick of heat to go with it, lovely with pitta, salad and some sauce😊😊😊
Thanks BFG for this review, ive been looking at this item for months but felt it wasnt gonna be nice,So next week i will purchase it,You could put it in a burger bun with some homemade coleslaw,Thanks again and enjoy ur day.......Bless
Over here TGIF freezer stuff is good but Fridays is expensive. They have a bunch of frozen appetizers in our stores in US, but costs more than other brands
Slow cooked brisket is lovely (well, not as much as shin but ...). And brisket typically £10 a kilo or less. Surely if you have a slow cooker, then take the hint and make it in that in a marinade? Its not as if it was particularly convenient to cook.
Hi Gaz! I’ve just had one of these for lunch, whilst being gorgeous, I think that it needed some of that lush and melting brisket fat on it, as proper smokehouse brisket always has!
In Canada I would say pulled pork is favorite. Very easy to make in the oven, 6-7 hours for a pork loin triple wrapped in foil, mmmm tomorrow maybe. Cheers for posting.
Only been to a TGI Fridays once for a Family Birthday. Can't remember exactly what I had coz it was Years ago but the beer was good and cold and I'm sure the food was too
@Bald Foodie Guy Good Atmosphere and Good food from what I can remember Mate.I was more interested in the Beer from what I can remember it being a Birthday and end of the week kinda thing.
I'm pleased it was good Gareth, it looked like a burnt offering. It's always a worry with brisket in case it's tough. I did a piece in the slow cooker for seven hours and it was still tough.
Does look like it’s burnt - or a Christmas pudding! Although a Christmas pudding isn’t usually rectangular! It’s bur-bon - Bourbon is a chocolate cream biscuit!
Looks proper belting this, would have this with mixed veg, mash and Yorkshire puddings, deffo going to try this, thank you Gareth and keep up the fantastic work and keep well and safe as always.
Hi Gareth, that looked gorgeous, but very pricey for the amount you get! I’ve just checked the TGI Friday’s online menu and it seems they don’t serve it in their restaurants! Another great review though mate!
Most of these dishes made by Iceland aren't made by the restaurant. Iceland using the name under licence. This looks half decent but I'd rather spend another quid on a brisket and stick it in my slow cooker with some liquid smoke and BBQ.
Hi, the brisket is nice and so is the pulled pork. I was walking round Lidl earlier and in the middle aisle there was a barbecue pizza oven which made me think you could of done with that a few weeks ago when you tried having a go at cooking the pizza on your barbecue lol
That looks deliciious! French fries also go well with this or "hush puppies" (fried balls of cornbread with a bit of onion - savoury rather than sweet).
Seen that today, didn’t bother. I always put the sauce on top ( can’t be bothered doing separate) when cooking but I am a philistine. Definitely get it next time.
I filled the freezer when Morrison’s were selling brisket for £6.99 a kilo. I like mine done in the slow cooker with a few veggies, a bottle of beer and a marinade.
I'd boil up some rigatoni so its just spongy. Rince & dry then fry it in garlic butter & parsley lob it straight on top in the pan with the beef then add mozzerella grated cheese, grill it until crispy then wolf down the lot !!! Thats how I'd have it Gazza.
Hi Gaz. In Southport and in Chester, there is a restaurant called Hickorys Smokehouse. Their signature dish is 16 hour smoked brisket. I've never tasted anything like it. They also do take out. Just saying ...
Thumbnail is hilarious🤣🤣🤣

14+ hour smoke pit tucker...🤤👍 Is worth waiting for.
Yes this was really tasty, top drawer. All the best pal 👍
I don't think anyone expects it to taste the same as fresh slow cooked. That would be silly wouldn't it.

Dusty is very sad to not receiving this said dish you like. It looks fantastic indeed but to me its a memory and buy it again.

looks good pal. think id have it in a wrap with onion, spicy wedges and a chilli dip. or just as is , with a lettuce leaf for ballanced diet. 😁🤣

I believe you normally have that with sliced white bread and pickles (gherkins).

The way I like doing it, toast a 1/2 Ciabatta loaf , butter the inside then spread the left over sauce inside before putting the pulled beef into it.
I find it funny that I see more TGI Fridays branded frozen meals in your video than what I see in the walmart where Im at.
🤣👍
