      Dog food is the worst, 2 months ago 24 tins of asda dog food was 9.50 now its 18.50, Greedflation is in full swing. because he banks reckon its only up by 16 percent it just the supermarkets pushing prices up as they see fit.
      last week Sainsburys said they made a 5% loss due to keeping prices low......in fact what happened was their profits were down 5% from the previous year due to losing footfall....they made 690million profit instead of 715 million the year before....that isnt loss that just a bit less profits. but thats how they word it.

    Intermittent fasting is so, so good for you. Loads of benefits including weight loss, less inflammation, mental health improvements and so on. You could try the 16:8 option, where you would eat between 12 midday and 8 in the evening. Depending on how you feel you could then try doing 18:6 - only eating between 12 midday and 6 in the evening. It's easier than you think considering you're sleeping for a large chunk of that time. A lot of it is a mental challenge, to not give in to any cravings, but once you get used to it, it becomes quite easy. Drinking plenty of water with added electrolytes is a must. Despite what some people may think, in most cases fasting will actually help increase energy levels - not reduce them. Keep it up and I'm sure you'll be feeling spot on.

    • @chewy66
      @chewy66 Год назад +3

      @@BaldFoodieGuyI would say to drink more water and electrolytes when you fast. I drink approx 2.5 to 3 litres of water a day, and there is nothing worse than being hungry and dehydrated. You may always be hungry because you lack protein and fat. Carbs make you crave more carbs (empty calories)
      You won't put the weight back on if you change your eating habits for life. After I loose all the weight I need to, I will continue to fast most days as I think it's the most effective method of controlling weight.

      Don't eat processed foods when not fasting though or your hunger pangs will come back 10 fold. It's all about what u eat when u break the fast! Can still eat good tasty food but knock off sugar and carbs and you'll feel so much better!

    Thanks for the video, Gareth. I did a full monty for my Sunday breakfast as it goes!. I air fried everything other than the bread, beans and tomatoes. (Air fried the egg, mushrooms, bacon, black pudding, sausage, hash browns) - I have 2 Air fryers (a large single unit and a dual drawer Salter) - I had the large single drawer set on low to keep everything warm, while the dual drawer cooked the next thing. The eggs go in last for 4 minutes at 200c. You should try it at some point.
    The fasting has worked well for me. I eat during an 8 hour window now. 8 Hours to eat, 16 hours without (other than water or a cup of sugarless tea). I started at 12 hours on /12 off, then went 10/14 after a few weeks. I've been doing 8/16 since my 50th last November. Once your body adjusts, you'll feel better.

    A breakfast fry up is a traditional meal that should not be messed with. On a Sunday I go the "full monty" . 2 eggs, 1 sausage, 2 bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, a grilled tomato, fried bread, beans and if I remember to keep the ingredients during the week? A portion of bubble and squeak all with a couple of slices of toast to mop up with. The rest of the week? I may have egg and bacon, maybe egg and sausage, egg on toast, or tomatoes on toast. I've tried this type of meal when I was in Germany. They were a whole lot better. When it said bacon, they meant it, large chunks of what looked like belly pork, nice firm sausages, mushrooms and beans. Well nice for a cold morning on exercise. Good review mate. I was nearly climbing the walls with withdrawal symptoms. 😱🤯😱.

    Must admit I've always had a bit of a soft spot for these, not this one as I dont like the mushroom or potato bits but they used to do a BBQ one with burgers, sausages and a pork cutlet and the bacon sizzler one. Bit of BBQ sauce in the pot when you're cooking is a game changer. Though have to admit the price is a bit wild now, but I'll still grab one for a quick lunch or breakfast now and again.

    I think it’s always worth having a few tins of food at home to give you some comfort, especially if it’s a wintry day. The weather can really get to you at times, so a bit of hot easy food helps. I personally prefer to add a few bits of grated cheese to the beans or a bit of black pepper. I do sometimes cook off some beans and put them in a pitta having cut it in half to make a pitta pocket, very simple and makes a change.

    I always take a couple of cans of Hunger Breaks on self catering holidays. Just simmer in a pan, then put on brown toast, makes a quick meal.

    Meatballs!! Went on a static caravan at Weymouth 50 years ago. Mom and Dad didn’t have much money, so us 3 kids had Campbells meat balls for lunch everyday….. Dad said ‘They’ll fill a little hole….’ 😀
    Even 50 years later we still joke about “The Meatballs Holiday!” Happy days.

    Had a few of these and the all day breakfast over the years, when you’ve done 8 to 10 hours mid winter in a warehouse with the doors open they taste better than anything from a 5 star restaurant. And talking of all day breakfast you can’t beat the British army one, the bacon bits in beans used to be top notch too, but that one is long off the menu

    best thing i fount for these was to mix the brown sauce in with the lot about halfway through cooking. it at least gave it some taste and did for me as something warm to eat out on site in winter
