I had to write a critique on this piece for a Music Class. I cried. 37 year old long haired country boy from the red deserts of southern Utah. I cried.

To think that all of this comes out of a man's mind it's beautiful.
I remember having a very similar thought when I saw him playing in Brighton. And they have escaped the weight of darkness was the soundtrack to my innermost thoughts whilst I was at university.
Seeing him play that song a few years later was a real experience for me, I sat in the crowd and thought very much what you just said. I looked at his skull and reflected that the skull I was looking at was where that music came from.

My thoughts exactly.. its such a heartfelt piece
The look on his face, looking around at an entire orchestra around him... "How'd THIS happen? How'd I get here? Am I worthy of this?" :) (7 years later, I'm sure he realizes now he IS...)
Absolutely magnificent, this truly is a Masterpiece. the slow and subtle build with the harsh industrial undertone is breathtaking.
Mr.Arnalds, I will listen to this piece forever.
I discovered yesterday this musician, and my eyes are wet hearing many of his compositions...They are of extreme sensibility. Thanks to all the people (family, teachers, friends..) that made possible "create" a man with this art to transmit emotions.
Welcome, friend! He is what caused me to buy a piano and start playing again... (FYI most of his sheet music he has available for FREE on his website...)

Everytime I listen to this song, especially when performed with orchestra and drum pattern, and I close my eyes, I have the sensation of an increasing sense of surrender to an immense never-ending vortex. No fear, no complain, no remorse. No more.

Olafur, you never cease to amaze me. Every note from every single composition from each album I've heard makes me want to get better as a violinist, everything is so simple,. but with perfect intonation and lovely melodies. So beautiful. We're playing Ljosio in my college Orchestra class and it's coming along beautifully (flutes playing right hand piano, cellos playing left hand, and two violins on each solo part). I cannot be more thrilled. Thank you for the inspiration.
