    Those cracking sounds gives more life to this amazing song...

      I disagree strongly, they are really distracting to me and impede my enjoyment. I had to go look for a version where they are not present!

      To each their own. The cracking to about 75% of the listeners works.

      Really gives a sense of loneliness. Hard to do my homework to this, because I start thinking of being old with no friends, and how shitty that might feel.

    • @nietsmusic
      @nietsmusic 7 лет назад +7

      It's actually the sound of the sustain pedal, the chair he is sitting on and the hammers of the piano hitting the dimming vilt, great audio engineering if you ask me

    • @diemorester
      @diemorester 6 лет назад +1

      Niets Music you mean its difficult to recorf that ‘cracking’ sound?
      (Im also the one who enjoyed that sound)

    What’s great about this song is it is raw and has not been edited or had any special effects added to the sound

    I heard my little sister playing this today, and my ears perked up..she was shocked I knew who you were. I felt the same. This album specifically has touched my soul ever since the initial release. I havw choreographed ballet dances to it, cried with it, loved with it, endured the hardest longing as well as the fullest joy. Just as the creaking floorboards linger on, so does this album in my heart. Thank you Olafur, and all the artists who played on this album. It is truly a masterpiece that I will forever cherish ❤️

    Sometimes you don't need anything better than silence to listen the life flowing into you. Olafur Arnalds is a silence into caos, the feelings it gives are a blessing, so pure, bright, alive, so simple, yet so complete, so comfy, sad, but warm, so Human, his music is the vibration of every fiber of my soul. 🌹🌿🐞🍃🖤🦋🍀

      I think the piano in this video is spinet piano and it's very possible that this one has 73 keys. As far as I know, they're very rare.

    • @BelleTheSkyEgg
      @BelleTheSkyEgg 9 лет назад +1

      Stephen Veling He had a video about the making of the Living Room Songs, and he said he'd bought the piano for only (around) 300 US dollars at some garage-sale(?). In addition, he stuffed a beer bottle and an old t-shirt into the piano to make it sound nice when recorded.
      :')
      So yeah, it's probably an ancient piano.
      Here's where he details it: ruclips.net/video/W9t3mbv2Hd8/видео.html (right at the start)
